Supreme Warrior in the City

According to Lin Ke and Lin Yuan, there are simply too many entrances to the main trunk. Once inside, if you don’t remember the direction you came from, it will be difficult to return.

Su Yang didn’t have the ability to remember these details, but the three Crystal Skulls had no problem at all. These three fellows are ancient thieves, with a natural talent for tracking and treasure hunting, making it hard not to admire them.

The three Crystal Skulls memorized the positions and also found the direction of the Nine Palace Main God. Su Yang then led them quickly toward the direction of the Nine Palace Main God.

Along the way, Su Yang and his companions encountered several groups of Demon Beast Saint Emperors. However, this time, they were not obstructed.

Mainly because Su Yang is in a demon beast identity, these Demon Beast Saint Emperors will block the Saint Emperors coming from the gap, but they won’t block the Demon Beast Saint Emperors inside the trunk. Even if you’re a wandering Demon Beast Saint Emperor, no one will obstruct you.

Because upon exiting the gap, you’ll surely be robbed and cleaned out. In such a situation, who would bother to cause trouble for you!

Su Yang and his companions traveled without any obstruction, and according to the positions felt by the three Crystal Skulls, they were getting closer to the Nine Palace Main God.

One day, while Su Yang and his companions were moving at full speed, the sound of battle suddenly came from ahead.

The four of them immediately stopped; being few in number, they were unwilling to get into any conflict.

The battle didn’t last long before it ended, and Su Yang and his companions quietly approached the battlefield from afar, discovering numerous skeletal remains scattered on the ground.

These skeletons were not dead; after all, they were Saint Emperors, and even with just a drop of blood they could resurrect. Of course, provided there was enough spiritual energy. Without spiritual energy, once their power was exhausted, they couldn’t resurrect and were just like the dead.

Su Yang glanced at the battlefield and found not only Demon Beast Saint Emperor skeletons but also Human Clan skeletons. He was somewhat taken aback; isn’t this the territory of the Demon Beast Clan? Why are there Human Race Saint Emperors here?

Puzzled, Su Yang dared not proceed further and hid not far away, waiting for these people to clean up the battlefield.

Cleaning the battlefield was quite simple; they gathered the scattered skeletons and threw them into a nearby giant light circle. This light circle is actually a node, similar to the light circle through which Su Yang previously entered the trunk. Through this light circle, those who branched off can directly enter the trunk.

So, these two groups were fighting at the entrance to the trunk.

And only a small portion of the skeletons were taken back by them. The rest were thrown out of the light circle, out of the trunk.

It seems they didn’t intend to save those who had become skeletons. Without power, these Saint Emperors were thrown out of the trunk and abandoned. Unless someone provided them with spiritual sources to absorb and recover spiritual energy, they would turn to dry bones in the branch corridors and eventually die miserably!

Su Yang couldn’t help but lament that in these chaotic land paths, Saint Emperors, too, lived like ants, so wretchedly!

Moreover, these people who had just fought side by side now treated their comrades this way, truly chilling the heart.

But thinking about the situation Lin Ke mentioned, Su Yang could understand.

In here, spiritual sources are everything. By forsaking some Saint Emperors, others can claim more spiritual sources. Saving these Saint Emperors means some will inevitably lose these spiritual sources.

The cake is only so big, but there are too many people wanting a piece. Inevitably, some must be left behind so the remaining can avoid starvation!

Every contest for spiritual sources is them betting their lives. Seize them, and they can last a while longer; fail to do so, and they’re done. Unless some exceptionally powerful beings or critical figures, once their power is depleted, they are fated to be abandoned.

That’s why despite many Human Clan and Demon Beast Clan Saint Emperors entering the Land of Chaos from the Three Thousand Great Worlds, few remain in the trunk.

Here, even mighty Saint Emperors cannot ensure how long they can survive!

After cleaning the battlefield, both sides dispersed. Su Yang and his companions immediately sneaked past, following the direction tracked by the three Crystal Skulls. The group led by the Nine Palace Main God kept moving forward along the trunk.

After walking for a while, Su Yang suddenly sensed a few powerful forces ahead. He initially wanted to charge forward, but having only flown a short distance, he suddenly realized that the forces ahead were all Human Clan auras.

Su Yang immediately halted; they were now in Demon Beast Clan identities. Meeting Human Clan members in this state needs no explanation for the outcome, right?

”Could it be that we’ve entered Human Clan territory?” The Great City Lord asked in a low voice, and the Second City Lord and Third City Lord beside him were also puzzled.

Su Yang was also questioning this matter; at the node just before, Demon Beast Clan and Human Clan were fighting over some spiritual sources. Both sides suffered losses and then dispersed.

If they were still in Demon Beast Clan territory, the battle surely wouldn’t end so simply. Within Demon Beast Clan’s domain, how could they let Human Clan go, and would definitely call for reinforcements for a decisive battle to keep all the Human Clan members detained?

So the only explanation is that the previous location was at the border between Demon Beast Clan and Human Clan territory. When the node appeared with spiritual sources, both sides rushed to seize them. Since neither could prevail, they dispersed after a fight, without calling more reinforcements for another battle. Perhaps the spiritual sources were too scarce to warrant making a big deal of it.

If that’s the case, then Su Yang and his companions have entered Human Clan territory. And if they’re still in Demon Beast Clan identities, entering would surely cause trouble!

These Human Race Saint Emperors had just battled Demon Beast Clan, both parties having incurred damages. Now Su Yang and his companions in Demon Beast Clan identities entering Human Clan’s domain would be tantamount to provocation!

Quickly retreating a bit, Su Yang and his group reverted to Human Clan identities before proceeding forward. After all, having entered Human Clan territory, using Human Clan identities would be more convenient.
