Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 3409 - Let’s Meet Again Soon, Grandson

Tianming could lose his status as minor pathkeeper at any time and be labeled a fugitive. That was why he pushed himself so hard on the rise from being just a genius to a truly powerful elite. Qitian Muchen, on the other hand, had never faced that kind of pressure.

That was the core difference between the two of them. And on the battlefield where fighting spirits and wills clashed, the difference was magnified even further! Tianming’s determination was easily ten times that of a normal genius of his age. He looked up and pointed the Infinitum Stele at Qitian Muchen, who had backed himself up against a wall, profusely sweating as his legs shuddered.

The women, on the other hand, huddled together and shrieked in panic. Worried that they would say the wrong thing and doom Qitian Muchen, they didn’t speak a single word.

All of a sudden, Tianming waved his sword, causing the girls to shriek and break into sobs. However, all they saw was Tianming cutting off a single finger of Qitian Muchen and taking out the Yin-Yang Baleflame and springwater from his spatial ring, leaving everything else there.

”Are you the valley lord’s son?” Tianming said, pointing the sword flash of black and gold back to Qitian Muchen.

The youth had paled from the sheer horror and dared not ignore him. He nodded and said, ”Sir, Myriadpath Valley wasn’t aware that there were natives in the Yin-Yang World. We bear no ill will. If you’re willing, my father is interested in having a conversation with you. I can connect you with him.”

”Hehe....” Tianming stiffly smiled. He didn’t deny being a native of the Yin-Yang World and pretended he hadn’t heard anything Qitian Muchen had said. ”If you wish to live, it’s easy.”

”Sir, pray tell,” Qitian Muchen nervously asked.

Tianming looked up at him. ”Kneel and kowtow to me ten times, and call me ’grandfather’ while you do it. That’s all it takes.”

”You dare insult me?! I—” Before Qitian Muchen could finish, Tianming pushed his sword into his mouth, causing his face to contort in pain as tears and sweat flowed across it.

”I’ll give you ten breaths’ time. If you don’t do it, say goodbye to this world.” He began counting down right away.

While being asked to kowtow to someone was boundless humiliation to the son of the valley lord himself, Qitian Muchen was far too afraid of death. He sobbed as he knelt and kowtowed, calling Tianming ’grandfather’ as he did so. He did it rather quickly and finished before Tianming could count down from ten.

When he was done, he teared up from the shame. He had never felt like that all his life, having lived a thousand years tall and proud. His dignity had been completely trampled and shattered, and his emotions were swirling wildly in turmoil.

If I don’t wipe out all the natives in the Yin-Yang World within my lifetime, I’ll no longer consider myself a human! Qitian Muchen roared in his mind as he slowly raised his head, only to see that Tianming was no longer standing before him. Instead, he was next to the crystal coffin. Qitian Muchen watched as Tianming lifted the coffin and put it in his spatial ring. He almost wanted to puke blood when he recalled how he had completely forgotten about that.

When Tianming was done, he turned back and looked at Qitian Muchen with a smirk. ”Let’s meet again soon, Grandson!” Then he left the belly of the lifebearer tortoise in a rush. If he took his time, the tortoise’s carcass would fall into the Inner Yin, which would mean trouble.

The moment they left, Ying Huo said, ”Wait, that’s not right. You already temporarily crippled his lifebound beast. Why didn’t you just kill him? That’s more your style. Take his head as a trophy and present it to Jian Qinghe. That’s how you’ll win her heart!”

”What do you know?!” Tianming clicked his tongue. ”That fellow’s status is completely different from mere members of House Yumo. He’s being raised to be the successor of the valley lord. If he dies here, the valley lord might immediately come and seal off the exits, only letting their eminents leave. I’d be exposed and caught!”

The calm season would still last for a while, and Tianming wanted to collect more baleflame and kill more Yumos in the meantime, freeing as many baleful souls as he could. While killing Qitian Muchen would be exhilarating, it would come at the cost of what he needed to do. Not to mention, he wanted to spend some time discovering other secrets, like the crystal coffin within the Outer Yin. Killing Qitian Muchen would also mean interrupting Eminent Jiguang’s search for Suishen Yao’s mother.

”Either way, crippling his lifebound beast and humiliating him like that is payback enough for what he did to Jian Qinghe—at least for now. When I’m stronger, I’ll have many more chances to slaughter him. If she wants me to, I can even send him to her on a platter!” There was no need to rush things now. He’d already had the valley lord’s son call him ’grandfather’, after all.

”He has eight kegs of springwater and five kegs of baleflame.... How’s that fair at all? Myriadpath Valley’s keeping the good stuff for the elites....” Tianming had obtained thirteen kegs of wealth in total from Qitian Muchen, hitting the jackpot.

He looked back at the lifebearer tortoise and smirked before disappearing into the essence storms. After a while, Yin Chen said ”Guess who... came out... of the... tortoise’s body?”

”What do you mean? Qitian Muchen and the seven girls, right?” Tianmign asked.

”You’re mistaken!” Yin Chen snickered. ”Only he... alone came... out from... the tortoise.”

Tianming shook with realization. ”I thought that fellow seemed like the sentimental type, but he’s capable of cruelty when it calls for it, eh? Was he worried that the girls would spread word of his humiliation when they left? That’s why he killed them?”

Ying Huo said with contempt, ”It must’ve been too big a blow to him. It crushed the confidence and self-esteem that he’s built up over a thousand years.”

”So he isn’t even worried about the girls spreading rumors, since they wouldn’t dare to do that anyway. He killed them so that nobody alive would know about his humiliation, and he can brainwash himself into pretending that nothing of the sort ever happened.” Tianming knew how that fellow thought. He had overestimated Qitian Muchen’s strength of character and hadn’t expected him to do that.

”That filthy wretch must be trying to pin their deaths on me. Too bad he doesn’t know who I really am!”

Tianming went to a spot near the Lumistar Formation and began studying the crystal coffin.
