Beastmaster of the Ages

An earth-shattering explosion engulfed a quarter of the enemy’s fleet. As the black and gold wave swept across, a beautiful flower bloomed in space. Explosions continuously erupted, blasting apart flower after flower. The little flowers were really the collapse of the astralship formations that caused the compact nova source to explode, blowing the astralships to pieces.

Many astral gods failed to withstand the violent explosions and were turned to dust. Tianming was overwhelmed by the spectacular sight; this was the power of an infinitum-class astralship. He felt like not even a deific-class nova source world would be anything before such immense power.

The Star Hunters didn’t even have time to react to the sudden encounter. Although they’d had astralships scout the area, Yin Chen had specifically selected a route for Lin Xiaodao that utilized the light from the Myriadstar Zone to block them from the enemy’s vision. Thus, they had managed to catch the Star Hunters off guard with a one-hit kill. It was easy to determine the enemy’s losses just by looking at the many small flowers that exploded above the black and gold flower.

”That’s at least five hundred skypiercer-class astralships! The Gladean Ruins is so powerful!”

It was the result of enhancing the power of the compact nova source through Ji Ji’s transformation. It was now the most important part of Lin Xiaodao’s arsenal.

The Star Hunters were completely stunned.

”Let’s go for victory!”

Lin Xiaodao moved his astralship right into the midst of the enemy’s fleet as it continued to build up power, like a lion rushing into a nest of rabbits, claws sinking into flesh, tearing its prey apart. The Gladean Ruins was made entirely of infinitum-class ore that sustained formations formed from divine ordered patterns. They were the materials used for forging infinitum-class cosmic artifacts. And if the Gladean Ruins was a lion, an ether-class astralship would be a wild dog.

Meanwhile, Tianming was watching the two-headed dragon’s mighty force. A top-grade astralship like the Gladean Ruins had no trouble facing an attack from all sides, because the enemy couldn’t even break through its defense. Rabbit teeth were meant for biting carrots; those skypiercer- and deific-class astralships couldn’t stop it at all. However, they weren’t Lin Xiaodao’s target. The Gladean Ruins locked onto the ether-class astralships, shoving aside the nest of “rabbits” and pouncing on its target.

At that moment, the astralship formation finally had enough power built up and unleashed another attack on the nearby ether-class astralships. It was another devastating explosion. The Gladean Ruins was too fast and too powerful. Even now, there was no response from the enemy.

”There it is! The Traceless!”

Lin Xiaodao was obviously aware of the enemy’s strength.

Tianming was still wondering why they were attacking empty space when the black and gold energy spheres collided with something and the outline of an astralship suddenly appeared.

”That’s the main ship!”

The Traceless was a sword-shaped gear. Just a glance was enough to see how powerful it was. It was more terrifying than the other ether-class astralships around. Lin Xiaodao knew very well that it was the Star Hunters’ main ship. It would be an easy battle now that they had discovered it.

As soon as the Gladean Ruins appeared in front of the Traceless, which rotated at a high speed, the two-headed dragon attacked with its teeth and claws. Sparks flew when the two astralships collided; however, an astralship made of ether-class ore was fundamentally different from one made of infinitum-class ore. The Traceless couldn’t resist a head-on collision like this. Tianming watched as the Gladean Ruins bit off a chunk of the Traceless.

“This wrap is delicious!” Lin Xiaodao’s laugh reverberated in the air.

When the black dragon head opened its mouth, countless metal fragments containing divine ordered patterns scattered into space. Only Tianming knew that numerous Yin Chens immediately pounced on them.

The Traceless is under attack but the other astralships are still frozen, so the leaders of the Star Hunters must be on board the Traceless. They aren’t issuing orders because they’re trying to resist the attack, he thought.

”I’m afraid they’ll try to escape!”

Just as the words left Lin Xiaodao’s lips, two more ether-class astralships made their way to the front of the Gladean Ruins. Although the Traceless was badly damaged, it could still spin. In no time at all, the Traceless escaped while all the other skypiercer-class astralships scattered.

Tianming couldn’t locate the Traceless once it sped off into the cosmos. Everything had happened in the blink of an eye, indicating that the enemy had decisively withdrawn. To ensure a smooth escape, they had actually left two top-level ether-class astralships behind, choosing to lose their “limbs” like geckos shed their tails because they were fully aware of the Gladean Ruins’ horrifying power.

”Damn it!”

Lin Xiaodao managed to push the two astralships aside, but the Traceless had already disappeared. The other skypiercer-class astralships also began accelerating and spreading out in all directions. They all escaped! Even the two ether-class astralships were preparing to flee.

”Trying to escape?”

The Gladean Ruins pounced on them, each head chomping down on a ship.

The power of the astralship formation blasted the two ether-class ships, causing two enormous explosions to bloom like dazzling flowers in space. This time, the Star Hunters definitely suffered a heavy loss while the Myriadstar Zone was safe.

”Awesome!” Tianming grinned.

However, Lin Xiaodao didn’t look as happy. ”It’s a pity the Traceless got away. The leaders of the Star Hunters are all on board that ship, and they aren’t ones to take a loss lying down. They won’t just let this go and there’s nothing they won’t do. It’ll be difficult to guard these unowned nova sources if Shenxi Xingtian continues using the Star Hunters.” His original goal was to exterminate them.

Tianming understood what he meant. The Star Hunters were ruthless criminals and there would be endless trouble now that they had escaped.

My ether-class sun... Tianming sighed. Just then, an idea suddenly popped up in Tianming’s head.

Why don’t I just tell Master about the sun? He might agree to let me take over the Myriadstar Zone. After all, he even handed the Imperator’s Mural to me. He hasn’t kept anything from me….
