Beastmaster of the Ages

Tianming had shaken the Skydome Mundus when he had defeated the hallowed shamaness, Fu Yan, more than two years ago. Many had gone to the Mysterium Cluster after that to double-check his information and found that he indeed wasn’t a hundred yet. And they had been further shaken when they had gotten records of his battles in the Tranquil Battlefield. His rate of growth was too ridiculous.

Even his current location was a mystery. It was only when rumors claimed he was in Wondrium and taken in by the divine wonderians that the matter had ended. Not many in Mysterium Cluster could even go to Skydome Battlefield, so the information that Tianming had brought the sun to escape the mundus didn’t spread. However, it was still clear someone was manipulating things from behind the scenes.

Originally, it was supposed to be over. However, Feiling and Xiaoxiao had shown up now and stirred up new waves. Upon investigation, it was found that they had a deep relationship with Tianming. Thus, these three existences under a hundred years old who could enter Skyhold Bridge had become miracles of the Skydome Mundus.

However, over ninety percent of the people in the mundus refused to believe their age was accurate but rather that the wondersky realm’s caelum age identifier had made an error. There were past precedents.

The geniuses of the Skydome Mundus were about the same level as the Infinitum Mundus, so those a hundred years old were at best fourth- or fifth-astral orderans. The three had exceeded that by too much to be believable.

And it was thus this three-man team ended up having so much attention focused on them.

The Skyhold Bridge was surrounded by currents of dreams. Falling off represented ‘death’, so both Tianming and Yin Chen’s activities were limited to their platform.

“So beautiful,” Feiling was looking at the colorful and illusionary dreams. “I didn’t think the Xenoworld had such a beautiful place.”

Countless caeli were gathered in this river. When living things in the astralscape dreamed, their caeli would come here.

However, Tianming had no time to appreciate it as he was understanding the rules with the wondersky fairy. “Skyhold Bridge is for people of two hundred to two thousand years old to quickly reach Voidback City. Those below that age range don’t have the strength to win ten consecutive battles while those above the age range would find it easier to go through the Skydome Battlefield.” If so, Tianming’s team was the youngest in Skyhold Bridge’s history. The previous youngest member was Fu Yan but her record had been beaten by them.

“Considering our youth, is there any balance if we fight those two-thousand-year-old experts?” Tianming asked. Age was a very important factor in cultivation.

“Yes, Master! Five hundred years is the watershed mark. If you meet any opponent above five hundred years old, a portion of their power will be sealed and they can only show the power that the heavenly locus formation recorded when they were at that age group. For example, in the one-man bridge crossing, if a two-thousand-year-old member meets a member five hundred and ten years old, the older fellow’s appearance, strength and totems, wonders, or lifebound beasts quality will regress to what was recorded when he was five hundred and ten years old,” the wondersky fairy seriously said.

“Really? They can’t even use sword arts they comprehended when they were two thousand years old?” Tianming asked.

“Really. That’s how amazing our wondersky realm is!” the wondersky fairy proudly said.

“Wonderful. That means if others meet us, they’ll be pushed down to their strength when they were below fifty?” Tianming was excited. This was very, very fair. It all boiled down to talent if age was equal!

Those who could enter Skyhold Bridge were core members of the Skydome Mundus. They were in the wondersky realm since they were young, so there were comprehensive records of them at every age.

“You’re wrong. As I said, five hundred is the watershed mark. There’s only fairness above five hundred years old! Below that, if you meet someone four hundred and ninety-nine years old, they’ll maintain their strength when fighting you. If you meet someone two thousand years old, the lowest they will go is when they were five hundred years old.”

Tianming’s face twitched. “Why this set-up? Isn’t this very unfair for us? How do we compete in talent then? Why this specific limit?” Tianming thought of a few questions.

“Master, that’s because…” the wondersky fairy chuckled. “There’s no point going to Voidback City if you’re too young. That’s why the effective age for Skyhold Bridge is five hundred to two thousand years old. Your early entry is for the purpose of familiarization and the chance to win a bit and get the right to cultivate with the Foundation caeli. You’re not actually meant to pass. When you become five hundred years old, you can then enjoy fairness and truly shoot for Voidback City.”

No wonder!

“Has anyone made it Voidback City while under five hundred years old?” Tianming asked.

“Of course, but they’re the apex geniuses of our divine wonderians,” the wondersky fairy replied.

“I understand.” It wasn’t enjoyable, but it was still more enjoyable than not having the rules of balance at all.

“This means that I can ignore seniors above five hundred years old.” The limit he had to challenge was five hundred years old! “Fu Xi was almost two hundred but I still beat her. Ten consecutive victories aren’t impossible.”

Tianming breathed in deeply.

The Skyhold Bridge continued to float forward towards its unknown opponent. Watching the lone wolves of the one-man teams battles was exciting. But the three-man teams were even more exciting for spectators. Many Skyhold Bridge members had found teammates who synergized well with them. Divine wonderians wouldn’t necessarily team up with other divine wonderians.

Tianming also had similar thoughts. His team was already ridiculous with Feiling and Xiaoxiao. If Moran was here, it would be even more ridiculous.

……

Half a day later, the Skyhold Bridge finally knocked into something and shook.

“Get ready.” Just winning one fight would be enough to cultivate with Foundation caeli for ten years!

The two Skyhold Bridges merged and their area doubled. The enemy could already be faintly seen ahead.

“Kill them!” Tianming exchanged a look with Feiling and Xiaoxiao before they sped forward.
