Beastmaster of the Ages

The forefront of the Star Hunters’ astralships was where most of the activity was. A huge vortex opened up in space. Perhaps only the top experts could see that it was really a transparent astralship shaped like a gear and spinning at a high speed.

At its edge were sharp swords that formed rotating wheels, like enormous top-grade cosmic artifacts. In fact, they were comparable to any cosmic artifact in terms of the materials they were created with. It was the main astralship of the Star Hunters. Wherever they went, not a single blade of grass grew. They robbed and pillaged and were available for hire. They were people without morals, and there was no crime they wouldn’t commit. They started with plundering and rapidly developed from there.

Under the leadership of their three heads—Big Boss, Second Boss, and Third Boss—they rapidly rose and lived a very good life. From their titles alone, it was clear they were bandits who began with a mountain stronghold before eventually moving to the stars.

At this moment, the three important figures were aboard the main ship.

In the ship, a tall and slender man dressed in a black robe covered in stars was walking down a long hallway, spots of light coming from the depths of the hallway ahead of him. The man had long, shiny white hair that flowed to the floor like a waterfall, sweeping across the dark hallway like the hem of a skirt. Upon closer inspection, his complexion was fair and crystal clear and his ears were dainty and pointed. Above his pixie nose was a pair of colorful eyes.

If Tianming were there, he would be able to identify the man from his eyes alone. After all, he had seen Yi Taoyao up close in the Oldgod Domain, and she possessed the same unique features. Of course, this particular white-haired man was definitely not young despite how he looked. The profundity in his eyes showed that he was at the peak of his cultivation.

The man made no sound as he walked. Not long later, he arrived at the end of the hallway and opened a door leading to a spacious and empty hall. There were three grand thrones forged with top ether-class ores at the end of the hall.

The leftmost throne glowed blood-red and seemed like someone was sitting there. The strange red light formed threads like thousands of strands of hair wrapped around a thin figure like a blood cocoon and the smell of blood filled the air. Bowing his head slightly, the white-haired man said in a magnetic voice, ”Big Brother, Second Brother.”

If only the left throne was occupied, why did he greet two people? As it turned out, there was an illusory figure on the throne in the center, almost imperceptible except for a faint outline. The man’s strange form was similar to the transparent astralship. From his position alone, it was clear that he was the decision-maker and master of the Star Hunters, and his identity and strength surpassed the man in the blood cocoon on the left.

”Third Brother, sit.” A soft voice came from the middle throne.

”Yes, Big Brother.” The white-haired man nodded, his long hair sweeping across the floor as he flew to the seat that belonged to him, then turned to look at his two older brothers on his left.

”Third Brother, thank you for investigating the situation.” The invisible man smiled.

”Big Brother, you’re too polite. The fortune and well-being of my brothers is my duty.” Taking a deep breath, the white-haired man restrained the reverence in his heart and continued, ”I’ve determined the situation.”

”And?” The invisible man nodded.

”The Infinitum Bodhimanda is wracked with internal turmoil. Shenxi Xingtian and Yi Daiyan are fighting for power. The entire mundus was originally divided into two sides, but now the etherean of Gladeus, Lin Xiaodao, has appeared in the middle. He owns a fifth-level nova source world, as well as an infinitum-class astralship. On top of sealing Gladeus, he’s cultivated several infinitum-class geniuses and appears to possess enough power to rival the other two. Yi Daiyan has temporarily joined forces with him because he can shoulder part of the pressure from the ebons,” the white-haired man reported.

”What about the expedition to Gladeus led by Shenxi Xingtian? Were they defeated” The invisible man asked, his lips rising in a slight smile.

”Yes. They lost a million astral gods and ten ether-class astralships. The ebons are afraid to take further action, so the three parties are in balance for the time being,” said the white-haired man.

”I know the ebons. They won’t be willing to suffer a loss. The longer things drag on, the worse it’ll be for the ebons. He should be planning something that will bring this war to a close, we just don’t know what it is,” the invisible man replied.

”It won’t be easy to find out.” Shaking his head, the white-haired smiled.

”But it doesn’t matter. The more they fight, the happier we’ll be. The ebons are reclaiming Ebonia, Lin Xiaodao is hiding away on Gladeus, and Yi Daiyan is afraid to leave. This is our opportunity to make waves. The Myriadstar Zone falls under Lin Xiaodao’s protection, but he won’t risk leaving Gladeus even if we take away all these unowned nova sources…. The ebons must have someone watching him!” the invisible man sneered. Although his tone sounded pleasant, his laughter was devious.

”It doesn’t matter if Lin Xiaodao owns an infinitum-class astralship. As long as the Infinitum Bodhimanda remains divided, he won’t receive any support from Ebonia. We’ll take ten thousand heliacal-class nova sources using our skypiercer-class astralships and separate. He won’t be able to stop us. These unowned nova sources have been kept here for a long time, so the transportation formations are pretty stable. Moving them away won’t be a problem, and we’ll still make a killing even if we only manage to take half of them,” the white-haired man laughed.

”Of course. That’s ten thousand unowned nova sources. It’s the most we’ve ever encountered!” the invisible man laughed, his voice filled with greed.

“It’s all thanks to their civil war that our large fleet was able to reach its current position without being discovered. It’s only possible because the Distant Star Patrol have all returned,” said the white-haired man. Perhaps they weren’t aware that there was an even bigger reason for their success—Shenxi Xingtian was opening a path for Meng Ying.

All they had to do was look up and they could see the star-studded cluster in front of them. The unowned nova sources were kept in that region because it was relatively closed off, so the rate of nova source dissipation would be slower. Gladeus had shouldered the task of guarding the Myriadstar Zone until now.

”We can return to Intrepidus after this. We’ll bring honor to our ancestors and rock the entire world with our might,” the invisible man said, his gaze fiery.

”Yes…” A similar emotion burned in the white-haired man’s eyes. Clenching his fists, he smiled. ”Our race could never have imagined that a woman from some runaways that fled to the Infinitum Mundus would actually rise to the position of rex mundi, a feat that her ancestors failed to do. It’s baffling.”

”Yi Daiyan is interesting. And the more that’s so, the more we can gain from fishing in troubled waters. The more deaths in the Infinitum Mundus, the richer we will grow!” Rising to his feet, the invisible man clapped like a fool. Then, turning to the man in the blood cocoon, he said, ”Stop sleeping, Brother. It’s time to wake up.”
