Beastmaster of the Ages

Skyhold Bridge began at Starting City and ended at Voidback City. Naturally, Skyhold Bridge’s tests weren’t simple and only true geniuses could pass them. Rumor also had it that the requirements for talent increased even more the younger the genius was.

“Starting City!” A city grew bigger and bigger to Tianming as he fell down on it like a meteor, landing on a street.

“So white.” When Tianming looked up he found that everything was pure white.

“Master, that’s this humble servant,” the wondersky fairy said.

“Seriously? Go away.” When she was gone, Tianming finally saw Starting City for real. It was an illusionary city.

“Welcome, Master, to Starting City! This is the starting point of Skyhold Bridge and there are also foundationeer reges mundi caeli here for the best of the best geniuses to enjoy!” the wondersky fairy proudly introduced.

“How can we use them?” After using the Lin Clan and flameyellow divinities’ caeli, he was aware that different clans and different people’s caelum would have different profundities. Exploring more caeli was more effective.

“Defeat one enemy team on Skyhold Bridge and you can cultivate in the foundation training room for ten years.”

“Ten years for one victory? That’s it?” Tianming was surprised as that was quite generous. On Ebonia, he had to be a swordgod disciple or equivalent of an Infinitum Regal Clan for this reward.

“Master, the ones floating on Skyhold Bridge are the premier geniuses and experts of our Skydome Mundus. Winning one battle isn’t easy. Try it if you don’t believe me,” the wondersky fairy said.

“Sure!” Tianming didn’t believe it could be that hard.

“Big Brother.” Feiling and Xiaoxiao soon arrived at Starting CIty as well.

“This place is quite deserted. It seems the Skydome Mundus doesn’t have that many skilled people,” Tianming said.

“You guessed wrongly, Big Brother. I arrived earlier and there were a lot of people, mostly divine wonderians, over there. They’re holding some Scarlet Banquet right now. There’s a lot of shops there selling quite a few precious treasures. I asked around and they said that it’s not real items here and they support cash on delivery to anywhere in the mundus.” Feiling’s eyes lit up. Clearly, a few items had caught her eye. But everyone knew such items were surely bloody expensive…

“Oh, they only support delivery to the Skydome Mundus? Such a shame, such a shame…” Tianming coughed before deciding, “Let’s form our team immediately and challenge the bridge!”

“Stingy.” Feiling pouted.

“Hahaha…”

……

Tianming passed through half the city by following the wondersky fairy’s directions. Starting City wasn’t a combat zone and lifebound beasts and totems were restricted. Tianming found that it was a bustling city with a lot of top-tier goods and virtual experiences being offered.

Many of the noble clans and geniuses of the mundus all gathered here. Some were laughing and some were bootlicking. There was a hierarchy even amongst geniuses. The Scarlet Banquet Feiling had mentioned was a high-level gathering in the Skydome Mundus. Only Skyhold Bridge members could participate, which was how high its standards were.

Tianming only cared about the imperial-class wonder, so his three-man team arrived at Skyhold Bridge. Ahead of them was a dazzling view of an endless rainbow river. Flowing within wasn’t water but the flow of the realm of dreams, countless inexplicable dreams slipping past beneath their feet.

“Master, could you confirm if you wish to choose the one-man bridge-crossing or three-man bridge-crossing?”

“Three-man.”

“The three-man team requires all three to have a combat power within three levels of each other. The condition is met and the team is approved.”

Tianming was only a second-phase orderan, but the wondersky realm had rated his combat power based on his defeat of Fu Yan. Xiaoxiao and Feiling also had a similar rating from when they became Skyhold Bridge members.

“Master, could you confirm if you are crossing the bridge now?”

“Confirmed.”

“Please wait momentarily, your floating bridge will arrive shortly.”

Tianming looked at the river and could see many faces within. Some were having pleasant dreams and some were having nightmares…

It was awkward to look at these dreams for too long.

A massive white floating platform soon arrived. It stopped at the shore, bobbing up and down as the current of dreams lifted it up.

“Let’s go.” The three boarded, after which the platform left the shore, bringing them forward. This floating platform was Skyhold Bridge. Every person had their own personal bridge and the constant annexation of others’ bridges was what allowed their personal bridge to overcome the currents to arrive at Voidback City.

“Everytime you defeat an opponent, the Skyhold Bridge will absorb the opponent’s. The victor will proceed while the losers will return to Starting City and be unable to attempt the bridge for a year. Reaching Voidback City requires your initial bridge to grow by at least a thousand and twenty-four times. This means you need ten consecutive wins and a single loss resets you. You will only meet bridges the same size as yours as you progress. A battle begins when the two platforms collide and merge, with the victor sailing off after…”

Those were the rules. Simple they sounded, but a nightmare in practice. Only a genius above all other geniuses could reach the other shore.

“Skyhold Bridge also has no age limit, so my opponents may even be over a thousand years old!” Thus, Tianming’s goal today was just to win one round before stopping and returning to Starting City. That wasn’t counted as a loss.

“But these rules are interesting!” Tianming looked ahead. He had no idea where his bridge was headed or his opponent. However, since Skyhold Bridge had a compulsory spectator view, and he had defeated Fuxi while his age was recorded as less than a hundred, he was sure he had a lot of attention aimed at him right now.
