Beastmaster of the Ages

Faced with the strongest strike in the Infinitum Mundus, the whole world fell silent as its inhabitants’ heart rates rose, Tianming included.

”Ji Ji, it’s up to you.” He knew that Ji Ji was changing the structure of Gladeus’s astralguard formation and gathering as much hellstar reaper sword condensate to block the advance of the enemy. The side of the astralguard formation that faced the expeditionary army had formed tens of millions of hellstar reaper sword condensate to generate countless revolving storms!

An infinitum-class ship attacking an ether-class astralguard formation was among the hallmarks of an astral war. It was also the signal for all the other ships in the fleet to launch their attacks! The huge blasts of nova source had the same amount of energy as a few heliacal-class nova source worlds burning for five million years. Such an explosion would render even an astral god helpless like a mortal. All Tianming could see was the sky above darkening completely as a veil of silence was cast upon them.

The next instant, a booming rumble shook the world. Insane turbulence rocked the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb, causing it to smash into the ground! Gladeus itself seemed to have moved substantially from its original position. Earthquakes, tsunamis, and raging storms were triggered all over the world! It was the first time the seemingly hellish world had experienced terror of this magnitude. The sudden barrage of natural disasters, including storms, earthquakes, and magma bursts made it seem like the world itself was ending.

”Ji Ji!” Tianming gripped his fists as he waited for an update.

”Why are you panicking? It feels like nothing but a tickle,” Ji Ji said.

”What? Just ticklish?” That wasn’t something he had expected to hear, but it was a delightful surprise. ”The first wave of attacks might not be all they have, but seeing how confident Ji Ji is, it must be confident enough against the subsequent waves.”

That came as quite a bit of relief for him. He gripped his fists and readied himself to face the upcoming battle. ”Darn you, ebons. If you aren’t able to deal with me this time after coming all this way, I’ll lay low and grow until the day I crush you all completely!”

......

The expeditionary army watched as Gladeus was swallowed up by the light of their nova source blasts. The tremors from unleashing the blasts alone caused many astral gods to crash into the floor or walls of the ships, but that didn’t dampen their excitement in the slightest.

”Break down!”

”Crush them!”

They seemed like raving worshippers of the head-shaped divine astralship. That power belonged to them. It was the pride of the ebons, and every one of them had a right to feel good about it. Their cheers and celebration reached a crescendo when the blasts hit Gladeus’s surface. After the loud shaking and rumbling, the storm of nova source energy began to dissipate. They stood up and held their breaths as they checked out the astralguard formation.

”Is it broken yet?”

”How can it not be? How many ether-class formations can possibly stand up against an infinitum-class ship? The Ebonfiend is our eternal god!”

Their cheers only grew louder. In the fifty years since Yi Daiyan had become rex mundi, they felt oppressed. They were the strongest faction, yet they had to submit themselves to someone above them! However, when the storms began to part, their voices grew softer and softer as their expressions stiffened. All they could do was stare awkwardly at the scene ahead of them. The pink Gladeus was completely fine, including its layer of netherclouds. Somehow, the astralguard formation managed to charge up and resist the full-force attack of the ebon fleet. Even the dense vortices of sword ki were still there, looking like eyes that stared at the ebon army.

”No way...”

”There’s no damage at all?”

”The Hellstar Formation didn’t use to be so powerful! Does it have to do with that pink color?”

What many of them didn’t know was that while a formation being boosted by thirty or forty percent didn’t sound like a lot, that absolutely skyrocketed its defensive capabilities. The ebon army’s astral gods were completely stumped in the face of this development. Yet, they wouldn’t give up just like that. Instead, their expressions only grew more severe and bestial.

......

Within the largest hall in the Ebonfiend, located between the eyes of the fiendish, floating head, there was the grand Myriadbeast Throne made from the skulls of all sorts of feral fauna. They were all legendary wildbeasts from Ebonia, in whose wakes disasters followed. Having all those terrifying skulls gathered together made an object that inspired so much terror that nobody dared to look directly at it. Among the people with their heads bowed was Lin Jie. This white-browed, sword-nosed man stood alone in the large hall, being able to see the attack in its entirety.

”Rex Mundi, looks like Lin Feng’s lifebound beast managed to boost the astralguard formation’s capabilities. That kid is growing more and more unpredictable. I believe that the secrets he holds will be of immense benefit to all ebons,” he said with a hoarse voice. Having fallen from grace and become a traitor, he was filled with indignance. Even he hadn’t expected that a junior he should’ve been able to crush with a single squeeze of his hand would be able to push him to this extent. He deeply regretted not killing Tianming at the offset.

”I see. Not bad,” said the being seated in the Myriadbeast Throne. It was as if the throne was made to hold someone of his caliber. His imposing aura, coupled with the throne’s, gave him the presence of the ultimate ruler of a mundus. He was dressed in a black-crimson robe. The golden eyes on his palms were impossible to hide. Yet, the most terrifying part about him was his head in all its skinless, fleshless glory. His sockets were completely hollowed out, leaving nothing but an empty skull.
