Beastmaster of the Ages

Tianming was speechless. The gathered power was quite frightening. If I don’t solve this today, but in the future instead, most people will probably only remember what a wicked man I am. Then they’d only take part in spreading inflammatory news and not refuting rumors. After he landed, he smiled and said, “Please make way, everyone. I’m leaving now.”

This was the Lin Clan’s matter and it wasn’t appropriate for outsiders to intervene.

“Don’t even think about leaving!” Lin Jianchen and the rest landed as well. They quickly moved to block Tianming’s path.

Lin Jianchen’s tone was cold. “Where do you plan to go?”

“Brokensword Peak of course. Does a mere security guard dare to stop me?” Tianming was amused.

“Don’t let him leave!” the entire crowd shouted.

Lin Xingqing claimed to be too ashamed to see anyone, but she came out to show the audience how weak and pitiful she was.

Lin Jianchen was furious to be mocked by an untalented twelfth-level solarian and directly charged forward.

Tianming continued walking toward his mini ship.

Another patrol member spoke up. “Jianchen! Don’t let him return. Once the drug wears off, we won’t have any advantage in the Hall of Discipline.” They wanted to use the drug to make the crime stick to him. If they executed him now, there would be no further investigation.

“But the problem is that he doesn’t seem to be confused.” Lin Jianchen grit his teeth.

“Maybe he didn’t drink much. If we attack, we’ll only be punished a little by the house rules. If he’s deemed guilty, he’ll be jailed for at least ten years!”

“Then get him!” Lin Jianchen’s team of seven patrol members all turned into streaks of light that shot toward Tianming. Seven stellaminors blocked Tianming.

“Oh, so you’re acting against me?” Tianming had no fear as he continued walking into their midst.

Lin Jianchen snorted and his hand reached out to clamp down on Tianming’s neck and many people gasped in surprise.

“What a man this Lin Clan disciple is.”

“Whose son is he?”

“The third branch master’s second son!”

“He’s a heroic youth.”

Everyone was happy to finally see Tianming get what was coming.

“You dare? I’m a direct descendant of the clan!” Tianming began struggling as his voice changed, showing panic.

“Haha!”

“He’s just trash compared to Lin Jianchen.”

“He’s at least older than Lin Jianchen by fifty years.”

“All of the members of the patrol are younger than him, but still stronger!”

“How hilarious! He’s like a little chick flailing about right now.”

“Lin Jianchen, just snap his neck! Let’s see if he dares to touch a lady again!”

Everyone started laughing when they saw Tianming’s face turn green. The hand of justice had acted, so they all felt good to stand on the morally superior side.

”Let’s go to the Hall of Justice!” Lin Jianchen prepared to move off with Tianming in tow. However, he didn’t expect Tianming would get strength from who knew where and escape his clutches.

“Don’t you dare!” His group prepared to give chase.

Tianming’s next action, however, was to stab the Grand-Orient Sword into the ground before pointing angrily at Lin Jianchen. “Presumptuous! A second son dares to touch a direct descendant and humiliate me? Lin Jianchen, I want an Infinitum Duel with you!” His face was red as he spoke.

Infinitum Duel! Those sacred words would incite passion no matter which corner of the mundus it rang out in.

The place went dead silent as everyone looked at each other. Lin Jianchen’s group was stunned as well. The next moment, they were all overjoyed.

“Jianchen! Jianchen! The drug really did work!”

“His mind is muddled. Quick, agree!”

“An Infinitum Duel! You won’t be blamed even if he dies! This is the one rule in the mundus for lawful killing!”

Lin Jianchen was too surprised to react.

“The seven of you, come at me at once! I’ll take you all on! Accomplices need to die for your crimes as well!” Tianming gripped his sword and roared. He seemed to have gone mad.

“This piece of trash! He was still acting tough just now, but give him a fright and he loses it.”

“The good news is that he quickly showed his true face, so he’lll be done for today. Otherwise, if he grows up like Lin Mu, he’ll be another disaster in the making.”

“How could a sacred tradition like an Infinitum Duel be proposed by a piece of trash? It really sullies its spirit.”

“Well, he’s asking for it.”

“Lin Jianchen must be overjoyed.”

Everyone was looking at Lin Jianchen, who was very excited. Things were no longer going according to plan, but the result was even more perfect. Thus, he no longer hesitated and opened his mouth to agree but was beaten to the punch by one of his teammates, who roared, “Lin Feng, I accept your challenge.”

“I do too!”

“I do too!”

Lin Jianchen hadn’t even said anything before his team had all agreed, afraid that Tianming would take back his decision. Only Lin Jianchen was left. Under the urging of the audience, he followed the will of the people and accepted as well.

“Although all seven of us agreed, you all just watch. I’ll do it myself.”

“Yes!”

A commotion arose.

“There’s going to be a good show. I haven’t seen an Infinitum Duel in ages.”

What was an Infinitum Duel? Everyone on Ebonia knew what they were. The entire mundus was governed by a single power, the Infinitum Bodhimanda. And the Infinitum Duel was the most exalted and fair battle of the Bodhimanda. As long as both sides agreed to it, the duel would take precedence over any house rules. Even the emporium’s rules that restricted battle were superseded.

If you killed, you couldn’t be punished!

If you died, you couldn’t be avenged!

The duel would only end when both sides agreed. That meant that Tianming needed Lin Jianchen’s agreement to end the fight, even if he wanted to concede. Lin Jianchen had the right to refuse and even kill him.

That was the price of daring to enter an Infinitum Duel.
