Beastmaster of the Ages

Lan Huang, Xian Xian, and Yin Chen showed off some of their skills next. Tianming wanted Ji Ji to perform as well, but she just rolled her eyes. She hopped off her pink nova source, her eyes fixed on the gemstone in Dongshen Yue’s hairpin.

Finally, the sound of thunder and Meow Meow’s cries arrived. A flash of lightning later, a sea of lightning reformed into a sleeping cat in Tianming’s arms.

The two elders exchanged a stunned look

“Grandpa and Grandma, you underestimate us. We’re awesome!” Ying Huo patted its chest and bragged.

“Yes, yes, yes.” They could already see the incipient chaos arriving on Brokensword Peak in the near future.

“What do you think, Grandma?” Tianming expectantly asked.

“Quite strong and very special…. Very special indeed. Their talent is rather good, too, when they all already have over nine thousand stars. Six lifebound beasts belong to the ‘superfull’ category, so you’re good in terms of numbers, too. It’s just that….”

“It’s just that what?” Tianming asked.

“They’re just strange,” Dongshen Yue said.

Tianming wasn’t surprised with that evaluation. Many on the sun and Violetglory weren’t impressed with the Primordial Chaos Beasts, either. It was very normal for Dongshen Yue to not notice how terrifying they were. Their ferocity was only ever revealed in battle. For talent, the best way for Tianming to shock and awe was by using his ten totems. That had always been his claim to fame.

“Five lifebound beasts means the beastmaster is full. Across all of Ebonia, only the Swordgod Lin Clan has six superfull swordbeast lifebound beast. Being superfull confirms you as a disciple of the Lin Clan,” Lin Xiao emotionally said.

Tianming had read of the term ‘superfull’ before in the Skydome Battlefield’s information. It was rather rare in the astralscape.

“Although Feng’er can’t be counted as a genius, it’s still quite a bit better than Mu’er. His hundred years of cultivation were on a skypiercer-class world. If we’d raised him, he would most likely be close to transcending his astral physique,” Lin Xiao seriously said.

“Yes!” Dongshen Yue was very pleased as well. “His starting point may have been later, but he can still catch up. He still has a chance to become a suitable inheritor for the second branch.”

Honestly, they would have been panicking if they hadn’t examined him. What if the child was as untalented as Lin Mu? One day when they weren’t around, Lin Feng would definitely suffer rejection and have an unpleasant life.

Their calm exteriors were just a front.

“Your luck is quite good, child. It seems your parents gave you all their luck.” Dongshen Yue earnestly said.

“So I have a chance to make it here?” Tianming smiled.

“As long as you work hard and are willing to persevere, I guarantee it. We will try our best to help you lift your head up,” Dongshen Yue said. Then she turned stern and continued, “I’m not kidding, your grandmother is very fierce!”

“No problem, your grandson is a king of trillions, my heart is strong enough,” Tianming laughed. His grandparents’ hearts were too heavy. Hence, he wanted to inject some liveliness and joy into the atmosphere.

“Your personality is quite similar to your father,” Dongshen Yue said.

“The confidence?”

“No, the ignorance of reality.” Dongshen Yue glared at him.

Tianming roared with laughter. If just showing his lifebound beasts was enough for the two elders to decide he could survive, what would happen if he showed his totems and told them he was only thirty? But before revealing his totems, Tianming casually asked, “Are there more beastmasters or totemancers here on Ebonia?’

“You really know nothing? How’d you still dare come here?” Dongshen Yue knocked him on the head.

“What does that mean?”

“Ebonia belongs to beastmasters. Of the thirteen royal clans of Infinitum, only one is a totemancer clan and they’re new. Ninety-nine percent of Ebonia are beastmasters! There’s practically no totemancers here,” Dongshen Yue said.

Tianming was surprised. In the Skydome Battlefield, there was a balance of beastmasters, totemancers, specters, and wonderians, with wonderians the strongest. But here, beastmasters reigned supreme. And if even the main star was mostly beastmasters, the entire Infinitum Mundus was most likely ruled by beastmasters.

The situation was quite similar to Flameyellow, which didn’t have totemancers.

Tianming reconsidered. “Having both lifebound beasts and totems is the symbol of the flameyellow divinities. The Skydome Battlefield said my lifebound beasts came from blood pacts, so if I show both of them here, it’ll make it easier for the wonderians to find me. I won’t show them for now, then, and just treat them as a trump card.” The wonderians were even stronger than the Lin Clan. Furthermore, they wouldn’t protect him. Only his grandparents would. Hence, he would keep something in reserve.

Anyway, his lifebound beasts had grown stronger now, so his totems were only twenty percent of his combat power. The totems’ value now lay more in their shock and awe.

Tianming quickly came up with a random excuse and showed his Prime Wonder instead. The wonder was very strong and the two elders became more agitated. They could now truly see hope for the second branch. Most importantly, Lin Mu’s line had continued.

“Too many in the Lin Clan want to see you make a fool of yourself. However, your talent is rather good. It may not be at the top, but it’s far from the bottom. Train hard and you can go out with your head held up high.”

Tianming could tell that the two were keeping their emotions in check to prevent him from being arrogant. He also finally understood Li Muyang. Dad said that his parents were his one regret in this life. Let me help him make up for it. I didn’t know how before, but now I do. He didn’t need to bring them glory; he just needed to be by their side. They would be happy as long as he remained happy and healthy and could live with dignity.

I didn’t show my totems today and kept my age a secret. But one day, I’ll make them proud if there’s a suitable chance.
