Beastmaster of the Ages

”You bitch!” Lin Manman burst into tears of pain, getting up as soon as she hit the ground. But halfway through the motion, she suddenly looked at Feiling. For a moment, her gorgeous face evoked fear in the snot-nosed brat.

Feiling didn’t stop at all, her fist landing squarely on Lin Manman’s stomach and knocking the girl out of the Grandsect Arena. Lin Manman flew out so far she almost reached the high platform. Slamming to the ground, Lin Manman spewed a mouthful of black blood. She got up, but before she could even take two steps, she fell back down and passed out. It was obvious she had received internal injuries, though it was the dense wounds on her face that made everyone watching break out in goosebumps. Lin Manman had been defeated.

Feiling was so fast, so fierce! Before many could even react, Feiling put away her wings and descended from the sky. Her long, fluttering hair and dress made those watching envious, even jealous. Lin Manman, on the other hand, lay on the ground, completely motionless. Her disgrace and misery were indescribable. The contrast between the two was astonishing.

”Use your swordbeast the next time you face me. Otherwise some might say I have an unfair advantage.” Feiling, who seldom had a temper, had been so badly bullied that she couldn’t help but get upset. With that, she walked out of the battlefield.

Lin Manman’s little friends were so frightened that they unconsciously made way for her. The entire arena was dead silent, but the boys’ and girls’ disdainful expressions had completely changed. They couldn’t help but gulp, looking at one another in a daze. Their parents, watching in the distance, were equally shocked. At least half of them stood up, blankly staring at the scene before them. Although Lin Manman hadn’t used her swordbeast, the truth was that she hadn’t even had time to call it out of her lifebound space before she was “killed.” The difference in strength between the two was evident. They looked at Feiling, then turned to Dongshen Yue and the others, brows furrowed.

”Second Patriarch, your granddaughter-in-law is quite interesting.”

”She isn’t from Ebonia? She doesn’t have the Infinitum Bloodline? I don’t believe it! Some kids mature faster.”

”Where’d you find such a good seed?”

”Weren’t she and Lin Feng caught and brought back?”

Everyone had been laughing at Lin Xiao and Dongshen Yue earlier, but now they were a little speechless.

”Manman!” Lin Wuyi picked up her daughter. Her face was already purple. Seeing her daughter’s sorry state up close made her even more angry. Lin Wuyi was a person who bore grudges. She didn’t mind losing, but she couldn’t stand losing to those she looked down upon so she was extremely angry. In fact, Lin Manman had only suffered flesh injuries; it wasn’t a big deal for a young girl like her. However, Lin Wuyi was shaking with anger. After passing Lin Manman to her subordinates, she returned to the platform with a straight face.

”Lin Wuyi,” Dongshen Yue called.

”What?” Lin Wuyi looked at her gloomily.

”Your daughter’s no good. Hurry up and have a few more.” Dongshen Yue smiled.

”You!” Lin Wuyi grit her teeth and clenched her fists, but upon glancing at Dongshen Yue’s skull-topped staff, she could only suppress her anger.

”It’s been a hundred years. Even a villain like you finally succeeded. But will two or three talented foreign daughters-in-laws change anything? Can they give birth to twin-six talent geniuses?” Lin Wuyi sneered as she took her seat.

The scene grew even more tense. Despite what Lin Wuyi had said, the Second Branch’s sudden addition of three talented granddaughters-in-law surprised the entire clan.

......

In one corner of the arena, a young man dressed in blue stood in the shadows, staring at Feiling and the others with eyes like venomous snakes. It was Lin Jianxing, and beside him was a young boy that wore black from head to toe. The hair on his head was black, but his eyebrows were white. He had a sharp, chiseled nose, like a sword hanging in mid air. Unlike Lin Manman, he was very cold. His eyes merely trembled slightly at Lin Manman’s defeat. Compared to the children in the arena, he looked mature.

”Xiaopo, I really regret it,” Lin Jianxing said.

”Brother Jianxing, what do you regret?” Lin Xiaopo asked.

”Just a while ago, the lives of these four people were in my hands. I could destroy them with a single thought, but I wanted the entire Lin Clan to vent their anger on them so I brought them back.... I never thought that the three women were under thirty,” Lin Jianxing said.

”That’s true! They didn’t have identities and weren’t daughters-in-law of the Lin Clan. Brother Jianxing, you could’ve actually dealt with them as you wanted.” Lin Xiaopo looked at Feiling through narrowed eyes. Smiling, he said, ”They’re beautiful and very charming. Brother Jianxing, you’re just too much of a gentleman. You don’t even bother looking at beauties. I, on the other hand, would make Lin Feng watch me play with his women.”

”You?” Smacking him on the head, Lin Jianxing teased, ”Talk all you want. You don’t even have hair on your body.”

”I slept with a woman last time my brothers took me out to play. It felt so good. She wasn’t very pretty, but she knew how to have fun!” Lin Xiaopo said.

”Shut up. Stop messing around with them. Your father’s going to beat you to death if he finds out. At your age, you should be concentrating on sword cultivation or you’ll waste your twin-six talent. Don’t think too much about women before you’re a hundred. It’ll just slow you down! Before we become high gods, our ability to pass on our bloodline is very weak. That’s why the Lin Clan forbids us from having children until we reach five hundred years old. The chances of giving birth to children without the Infinitum Bloodline are higher and they’ll be dead at birth. Do you understand? You’re too young. Women are still a far-off thing for you, unless you don’t plan on becoming a top elite and the next branch master,” Lin Jianxing seriously said.

”I got it, Brother Jianxing. I’ll be stronger than you when I reach your age.” Lin Xiaopo pouted.

”We’ll see. Talk is cheap.” Lin Jianxing shrugged. He turned his attention back to Feiling, but after staring at her for some time, he suddenly recalled what Lin Xiaopo had said. He’d had this beauty at his fingertips, but at the time all he could think about was his hatred for Lin Mu. Now that the chance had passed, he felt a little regretful.

”The truth is, I didn’t think they were so young or talented. I didn’t think anything of her before, because I assumed they were inferior.” Lin Jianxing shook his head. He didn’t want to think about it anymore. Changing the subject, he asked, ”Xiaopo, what are the rewards for the daisy ranking’s top three?”

”Top three? Well, first place will automatically become a grade-four disciple,” Lin Xiaopo replied.

”Grade-four disciple? So it’s still the same,” Lin Jianxing said.

”Yes! As the youngest son of a branch master, I can only add two levels above my grade. A few years ago, I was still young and failed to enter the top three, so I’m only a grade-three disciple. When I become a grade-four disciple, I’ll be able to enter the sixth level of the Caeli Vault and my cultivation speed will be super fast. That rapid progress will last for six years, so Father asked me to enter the seventh level as soon as possible. I must take first place!” Lin Xiaopo said, his eyes fiery.

”Then you have to work harder. With your talent, you can still surpass me in the future and become the Fifth Branch’s legitimate heir. Then you’ll be treated as three levels above your grade,” Lin Jianxing said.

”I’ll work hard, Brother....” Lin Xiaopo grit his teeth.

”Some things are just stupid. Look at Lin Feng. He’s a hundred years old and still not a sovereign, but he’s the Second Branch’s legitimate heir and treated as three levels above his grade. It’s so unfair. I can’t even add one level to my grade, or I could’ve entered the seventh level a long time ago.” Lin Jianxing couldn’t accept it.

”It’s annoying. The Second Branch makes me sick,” Lin Xiaopo said.

”Forget it. I can’t be bothered to talk about this. No matter how talented these women are, they have nothing to do with Lin Feng. They’ll throw the loser away when they become successful. Let’s see if he’ll still be so arrogant then,” Lin Jianxing sneered.

”Maybe then it’ll be my turn,” Lin Xiaopo laughed.

”Do you want second-hand goods?” Lin Jianxing smirked.

”Who says I can’t have a taste?” Lin Xiaopo retorted.

”You little devil! If your morals ever surpass mine, I’ll call you big brother.” Lin Jianxing was dumbfounded.

”It’s a deal. You’d better not go back on your word,” Lin Xiaopo seriously said.

”I’ll be waiting, brat.” Lin Jianxing shook his head.

”By the way, are there other rewards besides being promoted to a grade-four disciple?” Lin Jianxing asked.

”Yes, merit points. The top three will receive a thousand, six hundred, and three hundred merit points respectively. There’s also myriadstar manna. The top three will get six, three, and two myriadstar manna. They’ll be allowed to choose whatever they want!” Lin Xiaopo said.

”Your swordbeasts haven’t reached ten thousand stars yet, have they?” Lin Jianxing asked.

”After today’s fight, they will,” Lin Xiaopo replied.

”You must secure first place. Then you’ll have six myriadstar manna,” Lin Jianxing said.

”That’s nothing. My father wants me to occupy first place for seven years.”

”Your father’s worthy of his position as head of the Hall of Discipline. He’s fair and just. You’re a twin-six talent, but he didn’t privately hand you the myriadstar manna.” Lin Jianxing said.

”That wouldn’t be fair. How can we convince the others? That’s why we have to be exceptional,” Lin Xiaopo proudly said.

”Haha, having a father is amazing!” Lin Jianxing gave him a thumbs up. He didn’t have a father. His had died the day he was born.

Amidst their laughter, a young boy shouted, ”Xiaopo, it’s your turn. It’s the quarterfinals. Winning this match is equivalent to entering the top three!”

”I can’t wait.” Lin Xiaopo stood up, patted his robes, and asked, ”Who’s my opponent?”

”Lin Feng’s wife. All three of them have entered the quarterfinals,” the boy said.

”Which is my opponent?” Lin Xiaopo’s eyes lit up.

”The one with the divine wonders. She’s only a constellier, but her divine wonders are awesome!”

”Her?” Lin Xiaopo couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed. The opponent he wanted was Feiling, who had defeated Lin Manman. She was the most alluring of Lin Feng’s wives.
