Beastmaster of the Ages

The mountains were where the disciples of the Lin Clan stayed and cultivated. All of them looked like swords that pierced out of the ocean toward the clouds. While the Myriaddragon Mountains and their dragon-shaped peaks were indeed vast, they paled in comparison to the sword peaks here. The sky of Ebonia was thousands of times higher than that of the sun, and the sword mountains were also that much taller than the dragon peaks. It was as if there was a forest of swords growing in the middle of the sea.

”So the Swordgod Lin Clan is one that lives by the sword!” Swords were everywhere, from the mountains, to the sea, even to the tombstones and divine astralships. What was more shocking was that gigantic lifebound beasts were all over the place, whether in the skies or the seas, rather than residing within their lifebound spaces. There were even some between the many mountains, endlessly spreading out through his field of view.

Given the number of lifebound beasts, it seemed that the Swordgod Lin Clan was mainly a clan of sword-wielding beastmasters. Many of those beasts were much larger than Lan Huang, with parts of their bodies obscured from sight thanks to their sheer size. Tianming marveled at the might this top faction possessed. Faced with all this, he felt like a bumpkin from bumfuck nowhere.

”What an eye-opening experience this is indeed.” His ambitions soared the more he saw. He would use his own abilities to make this world submit to him. It just so happened that he was a cultivator of the way of the sword as well, making him feel like he had found where he belonged. The Infinitum Swordsea honed his desire for the sword even more.

”This is going to be my new home from now on. I’ll have to settle myself well here.” Home was where one’s family was. He still had the people he loved and his lifebound beasts by his side, as well as grandparents that cherished him like a treasure. One way or another, he had finally found his footing in this sixth-grade nova source world.

......

A gigantic sword appeared in the distance beyond the dark storms. It was a mountain that looked like a broken sword, and Tianming recalled hearing someone mention its name, so it wasn’t hard for him to guess that it would be his new home from now on. Though it was broken, the ’sword’ looked much thicker than the other sword peaks. Had it been complete, it would no doubt be the largest among the sword peaks in the area.

”Grandfather, Grandmother, how many peaks are there in the Infinitum Swordsea?” Tianming asked as he sat closer to the front.

The old man was groaning from the pain of having his beard pulled, but he still turned back and smiled when he heard Tianming speak. ”There aren’t that many, just a million of them.”

”A million?!”

”That isn’t a large number. Our clan has a billion disciples, six hundred million of whom reside in the Infinitum Swordsea. All of us need our own space, you see, so we can’t afford to live too close together,” the old man said with a chuckle.

Tianming gave it a rough estimate. If there were a billion disciples split between a million mountains, that would mean each mountain only housed a thousand people, which wasn’t much on its own. However, it would also mean a few thousand lifebound beasts which took up quite a bit of space, so a million mountains in total didn’t seem far-fetched.

I thought that since Ebonia was a hundred thousand times the size of Violetglory, it should also have a hundred thousand times the population. But it seems like there aren’t nearly that many people here. One thing’s without a doubt: their combined might and power far outstrip Violetglory’s. A single person, Gongshu Ding, could claim an entire continent as a private estate, which showed that the average population density wasn’t that high. However, the people of Ebonia were far more powerful, and thus required a commensurate level of resources, in comparison to those of Violetglory.

......

”We’re here!” Tianming found himself in front of the gigantic broken sword as he was still taking in the nature of Ebonia’s society. He was brought straight into the dark clouds around it.

The nova source here is quite volatile, normal ascendants probably wouldn’t be able to take it! The cutting winds made him feel quite sore. If I have a chance, I need to get to know Ebonia well. I need to settle down and start learning about my status here. The thought of that made him worry about how he should explain his identity to his grandparents.

Oh, the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb! ”Grandfather, Grandmother, I was brought here by Lin Jianxing, but my divine astralship’s still outside the Infinitum Swordsea. It’s really important to me.”

”A ship? What class is it?” Lin Lao’er asked. ”With me here, I’ll get you an even better one!”

”It’s skypiercer class, but there’s some important things on it.”

”I see.... Which direction is it in? I’ll have Uncle Goudan take it back.”

”Over there.” If it weren’t for the obstructions he would no doubt encounter in the Infinitum Swordsea, he would have summoned the ship to come to him on its own. While Uncle Goudan might not have the core for the ship, Tianming surmised that elites like them had their own methods to move the ship.

”Alright! Grandson, you’ll finally be home. I’ll watch over you, so just use my name if you need anything! I’m called Lin Xiao,” the old man confidently said. Dongshen Yue tugged on his beard right as he did. ”Ouch, old wifey! Yue’er, be more gentle!”

As Tianming watched them mess around, they descended into a large hall on the mountain.

”Phew!” With the leaf unwrapped from around him, he felt much better, being able to stretch. Thanks to the Greenspark Tower, some of his wounds had already recovered and he no longer looked that pale. His knees had also recovered to a point that he could more or less stand.

”Big Brother....” Feiling came to support him, a look of concern still on her face along with her tears. Xiaoxiao and Moran, seeing how strict Dongshen Yue was, felt a little nervous and hid behind Tianming.

Dongshen Yue sat on the black throne and tapped her staff on the ground, causing the entire hall to shake. The hall was covered in dust, but its interior still looked rather exquisite and traces of formations were visible across every brick. Tianming figured that only his grandparents lived on this mountain, with most of the other halls being empty.

Lin Xiao stood by Dongshen Yue’s side like a minion and smiled at Tianming and the rest. The relaxed atmosphere turned tense with Dongshen Yue’s straight face.

Tianming hurriedly greeted them. ”Your grandson, Lin Feng, greets you.” He shot Feiling and the others a glance, prompting them to greet the old couple as well. He could feel that there was something Dongshen Yue wasn’t happy about, but he didn’t know exactly what. Fortunately, her expression seemed to mellow out after their greeting.
