Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You

Vol 9. Chapter 69: I Know You Too Well, Little Brother

That afternoon, Kaiser talked with Moon for a long time. In truth, most of the guidance and comfort had already been said at the very beginning.

After that, Moon mentioned that she was very interested in Kaiser’s and Safina’s past experiences, so for the rest of the time, Kaiser mostly talked about what life had been like for the two of them when they were children.

Moon listened with complete focus. Without realizing it, dusk had already fallen.

Kaiser was not sure whether the girl had truly remembered everything he said, but he believed he had completed the task well enough—at the very least, he could give an explanation to the people who had asked him for help.

“That’s about everything.”

After dinner, Kaiser went with Leon and Rosvisser to the rooftop of the Sky City inn.

The three of them stood there, feeling the slightly cool evening breeze as they talked about what had happened that afternoon.

“Mhm. Thank you, Kaiser. You really helped us a lot,” Leon said sincerely.

Kaiser shook his head. “No need to thank me.”

After a brief pause, he asked:

“But since you already noticed Moon’s worries, why didn’t you comfort her yourselves? Why did you ask me to help instead?”

Moon’s surprise earlier at Kaiser suddenly approaching her had actually been completely reasonable. If Leon and Rosvisser had not taken the initiative to ask for help, someone as dense as Kaiser—who needed others to point out emotional cues—would never have noticed Moon’s low spirits so quickly.

He had wanted to ask this question from the start, but seeing how anxious the couple had been, he had not pressed the issue and had agreed immediately.

Now, in the quiet of the night, with no one else around, Kaiser finally voiced his doubt.

In response, Leon and Rosvisser exchanged a smile. Then Leon spoke first.

“In fact, my wife and I realized very early on that Moon’s mindset might change because Noa made new friends. We discussed many possible approaches, but no matter how much we talked, none of them were workable.”

“None were workable? Why?” Kaiser asked.

“Because that child has grown up.”

Rosvisser leaned slightly forward, resting her forearms against the rooftop railing. The evening breeze stirred her silver hair as her dragon eyes gazed into the deep night sky.

“At this age, children actually understand all the reasoning already. So no matter how much we explain, it won’t really have any effect. But later, as we kept talking, we arrived at another key point.”

Kaiser raised a brow with curiosity. “What key point?”

“Sense of identification,” Rosvisser replied.

“Girls in adolescence are extremely sensitive. They don’t want to listen to guidance, comfort, or even the experiences of adults who have been through similar things. The only people they truly acknowledge are those who have gone through experiences similar to theirs.”

As she spoke, both Rosvisser and Leon looked toward Kaiser, and Leon continued:

“Before I was adopted by my master and mistress, I spent my childhood in an orphanage. Back then, like Moon, I was the one taking care of younger siblings. So I honestly can’t fully understand what it feels like to be the one who is always being cared for, especially after entering adolescence.”

Kaiser blinked, roughly understanding Leon’s meaning.

“I get it. You were the one bearing responsibility, Leon. Your role in the family is different from Moon’s, so she can’t really identify with your experiences.”

After a brief pause, Kaiser turned to Rosvisser.

“Then what about you, Sister Rosvisser? You have Miss Isha. As the younger sister, shouldn’t you have had similar experiences when you were little?”

Rosvisser smiled and shook her head.

“Unfortunately, Kaiser, no. Before the age of five, I did live with my sister in a cultivation cave, and she took care of me during that time. But we were not together every day. She had to handle many matters related to the Red Dragon Clan, as well as the later Dragon King trials. And once I had a basic understanding of the world, Grandmother Veronica took me away from the Red Dragon Clan. From that point on, I no longer lived with my sister.”

With that, the queen shrugged lightly.

“Simply put, I became independent before I ever entered adolescence. So… I also can’t truly understand Moon’s current state.”

After hearing the couple’s explanation, Kaiser thought for a moment, then nodded in sudden realization.

But after half a second, he abruptly sensed something was off and hurriedly said:

“W-wait, that still doesn’t seem right. Even if I have a sister too, how did you know that I back then was similar to Moon now?”

In response to the honest young man’s confusion, Leon stepped forward, patted his shoulder solemnly, and said in a weighty tone,

“Little brother, you’re practically wearing the words ‘sister-obsessed’ on your face. How could we not know?”

“…Huh?”

Rosvisser also walked over and added:

“Leon is exaggerating a bit, but based on our interactions these past days, you really are… very dependent on Safina.”

“That’s not it, Sister Rosvisser, actually I...”

Before Kaiser could stubbornly argue back, Leon cut him off with a wave of his hand.

“Let’s be honest, Kaiser. We might not understand Moon, but do you really think we don’t understand you?”

“…”

At that moment, Kaiser recalled the days he had spent watching everyone’s past inside the Time Palace.

While feeling that the man named Leon Casmod was powerful and reliable—and deeply devoted to his wife and daughters—Safina had not forgotten to remind him:

【Once you go back out, be sure to be careful around the Melkvey family. Especially Leon.】

At the time, Kaiser had not understood why he needed to be careful.

Everyone in the Melkvey family was clearly so kind. They spoke pleasantly, too. He liked them a lot.

But now, Kaiser finally understood.

Brother Leon was truly fierce in battle, truly devoted to his wife and daughters—but this man’s absurd side was also very real.

Kaiser sighed silently in his heart, shook his head with a smile, and said:

“No matter what, I’ve already shared my experiences with Moon. I just hope she can think things through.”

“Mhm. Moon is a very smart child. She’ll understand sooner or later,” Rosvisser replied.

As they spoke, laughter and playful shouting drifted up from below the inn.

Looking down, they saw the girls playing hide-and-seek. Helena was “it,” her eyes covered as she groped around, trying to catch the others.

Before long, relying on her sharp hearing, Helena caught Moon, Muse, and Xiaoxue.

“Where is everyone else… Aurora… Vivian… and...”

…

…

“Noa… Noa…”

Saint Heath Academy, Adult Dragon Division dormitory. Tucker jolted awake from his dream.

He sat up in bed, gasping for breath, his breathing unsteady.

After a long while, he finally calmed himself and raised a hand to rub his forehead, recalling the dream he had just had.

In the dream, he had become the captain of the Adult Dragon Division, earning countless achievements and honors. Even Headmaster Wilson had personally awarded him medals and commendations.

Yet at the very end of the dream, Noa suddenly appeared—replacing him and stealing everything that should have been his.

Tucker clenched the blanket tightly in his hand as Noa’s figure replayed again and again in his mind.

“Noa… damn brat… I’ll prove it to everyone. I’m stronger than you!”

These past days, he had been constantly thinking about how to surpass Noa.

Though he never admitted defeat aloud, deep down Tucker knew it clearly.

Noa’s strength and talent were far beyond his own.

What should he do to become stronger than Noa… What should he do…?

“Do you want to take revenge on Noa?”

In a haze, a hoarse, low voice suddenly echoed inside Tucker’s mind without warning.

“What? Who… who’s talking… ngh...”

A buzzing pain surged through his skull. Tucker shut his eyes tightly in agony.

And within that darkness, he seemed to see... a gigantic, eerie eye.
