Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You

Vol 9. Chapter 30: You’ve Grown Up, Moon—Grandpa, I’m Noa

Leon and Noa rode on the eagle little brother to the Red Flame Dragon Clan’s territory.

“Have Uncle Constantine write my recommendation letter...” Noa looked toward the Red Flame Dragon Sanctuary in the distance and asked.

Leon nodded.

“Yeah. The Flame Dragon King, plus the inheritor of Light power—and in the near future he might even become the dragon race’s diplomatic envoy stationed in Blazing Sun City. Authoritative enough, right?”

“That’s definitely authoritative enough.”

But after the princess landed, the sanctuary guards informed them that Constantine had gone out.

Leon froze.

“Gone out? Where did he go?”

The guard said respectfully:

“His Majesty went to Blazing Sun City. He said it was to learn from each other and exchange ideas. He probably won’t be back for about half a month.”

“Learn and exchange...”

Leon was speechless. Inside, he spat out a complaint.

“If he can learn anything, that’d be a damn miracle. He’s obviously gone to flirt with girls!”

“Dad, the academy has to confirm the adult division roster in ten days, so the recommendation letter has to be settled within that time,” Noa said.

“If Uncle Constantine isn’t home, then I’ll just have Mom write it for me.”

Leon raised an eyebrow slightly.

“But aren’t you afraid that after you enter the adult division, people will talk about you because of your background?”

Noa shrugged helplessly.

“Then I’ll just pretend I didn’t hear it.”

“That won’t do.”

Leon wasn’t about to let his daughter just grit her teeth and endure it alone.

Noa’s pride is strong to begin with. Don’t wait until the gossip piles up and his precious daughter ends up with depression.

So finding a reliable person to write the recommendation letter is still very necessary.

Leon patted Noa’s shoulder.

“It’s fine if your Uncle Constantine isn’t home. Your dad still has other connections.”

As he spoke, Leon waved, and the dragon-eagle they were on lowered its body.

“Come on. Let’s go check the next place.”

Noa nodded, jumped up onto the dragon-eagle’s back with her father, and left the Red Flame Dragon Clan.

Their next stop was Sky City.

As the most sacred and solemn holy land among the dragons, the establishment of Sky Academy was not only personally overseen by the Saint Knight Spencer, it also meant the dragon race had close cooperation with the academy.

Even if the tower master was not a Dragon King, his prestige was absolutely enough.

However, when the father and daughter arrived at Twilight Tower, an accident still happened.

“I’m truly, deeply sorry, Prince Leon, Princess Noa. My master has recently been working day and night with everyone to draft and revise Sky City’s new regulations,” a servant said.

“My master truly couldn’t bear it. He fell ill a few days ago, and he still hasn’t recovered from being bedridden. Please forgive me for being unable to arrange an introduction. I beg the prince and the princess to understand.”

Leon looked thoughtful. He glanced back at Noa.

“I remember when they first arrived at Sky City, we raised an issue with the tower master about the accompanying guards. The tower master said he’d improve the new rules as soon as possible afterward.

I didn’t expect the tower master to be such a total action type—saying he’d do it and immediately doing it, to the point he even exhausted himself into illness.”

But there was no help for it.

Maintaining the normal operation of all Sky City was far more exhausting than leading a single clan.

After all, Sky City’s residents lived there every day, and there were also visitors from every clan, and even Dragon Kings arriving in person to hold secret meetings and the like.

If the tower master’s body was delayed by anything related to princely business, it was inevitable he could not bear the strain. Collapsing into bed made perfect sense.

Leon could not demand that a sick man write Noa a recommendation letter.

“Alright. Then we won’t disturb him. Please tell the tower master to rest well.”

“Thank you for your concern, Prince. I will definitely relay it to my master.”

“Mm. Then you go on with your work.”

Leon turned around.

“Let’s go, Noa.”

“Okay.”

After leaving Sky City, father and daughter sat cross-legged on the back of the six-winged dragon-eagle.

The wind messed up Noa’s long hair. She looked at Leon.

“Dad, Grandpa Tower Master can’t write the recommendation letter either. What do we do next?”

Leon scratched his head and let out a long sigh.

“This is getting difficult. But don’t worry. After thinking a bit, your general’s eyes will light up. It’s fine, Noa. If this grandpa can’t help, we’ll go find another grandpa.”

Noa blinked blankly.

“Another... grandpa?”

“Grandpa Tiger~~”

Sea Dragons. Atlantis, the underwater city.

The moment she saw Tiger, Noa ran over and threw herself into the old man’s arms.

Tiger also beamed and patted his granddaughter’s little head.

“It’s only been a short while and you’ve gotten so tall. You’re a big girl already—Moon.”

“...Grandpa, I’m Noa.”

The old man narrowed his eyes and examined her carefully. Only after confirming there was no stupid cowlick sticking up did he laugh awkwardly.

“Hahaha, sorry, sorry. These old eyes—couldn’t see clearly.”

Leon suspected the old man did it on purpose.

To avenge that old “bald grandpa” line from back then.

Of course, even if they teased each other, the grandfather and granddaughter were still close.

The three generations met in the back garden of the Sea Dragon Sanctuary. Aju was grazing in a farm not far away.

When he saw Leon, he also scurried over excitedly on all fours.

“Long time no see. How come you don’t look old at all, and you can still run like this?” Leon said with a smile as he rubbed Aju’s ears.

“Living among the dragons, the food’s totally different from what it was in the Empire, so he’s got more spirit than before,” the old man explained from the side.

Leon smiled.

“Then you’d better live a few more decades. Later I’ll crown you ‘Donkey King’ or something.”

After chatting a bit, Leon asked:

“By the way, Master, why haven’t I seen my master’s wife?”

“Oh, your master’s wife went out a few days ago. She said it’ll take about a month before she comes back.”

Hearing that, Leon’s hand, rubbing Aju, paused, and the corner of his eye twitched slightly.

“A month... what takes that long?”

Tiger shrugged. “He said the western sea is seriously polluted. A lot of marine animals—even Sea Dragons living in remote areas—have been affected to varying degrees. So your master’s wife and Poseidon took a medical team over.”

Leon pressed his lips together.

“Sounds like a conservation propaganda ad...”

“What is it? You looking for your master’s wife for something?” Tiger asked.

Leon shook his head.

“It’s Poseidon I need to ask about something. I want him to help write Noa a recommendation letter to advance to the academy’s adult division.”

The old man heard that and could not help frowning as he sighed.

“That’s going to be hard. Why not wait until your master’s wife and them come back and handle it then?”

“It’s too late. Noa has to submit it in ten days.”

Tiger rubbed his hair, thought, then said:

“Then why not have Claudia write one? She’s still the academy’s vice principal.”

“The academy has a clear rule that recommendation letters can’t be written by teachers or staff,” Noa added from the side. “That’s a serious ‘internal digestion’ issue.”

After “dragon and marine nature conservation,” now there was also serious “internal digestion.”

General Leon suggested maybe the dragon race should also roll out civil service exams and staffing quotas.

“Oh. So many rules. Just like when I was in the Empire army back then—rules and regulations everywhere.”

Tiger sighed again.

“Then there’s really nothing I can do to help Noa with this.”

“Mm... it’s okay, Grandpa. Dad and I will think of another way.”

“Alright. Don’t worry too much. In the end you’ll definitely get in. My granddaughter is the best!”

Noa was praised into a heh-heh grin.

“Then °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° we’ll go first, Master.”

“Alright. Be careful on the way.”

A huge bubble enclosed the father and daughter, then slowly floated upward.

“Bye, Grandpa—” Noa waved to Tiger from inside the bubble.

The old man also happily said goodbye.

“Bye, Noa. When you have time, bring your little sisters to visit Grandpa too.”

“Got it—”

Noa looked again at Aju beside Tiger.

“Aju, bye-bye too~”

“Aju: (￣▽￣)Bye~Bye~”

After leaving the sea, the father and daughter discussed on a small island who they should look for next.

“Dad, you’ve basically used up all your connections, haven’t you?” Noa folded her arms, tilted her head, and teased with a smile.

Leon sat cross-legged on the beach, rubbing his chin and frowning as he thought.

“Looks like it really is bad luck. No one works.”

Noa sighed, leaned down, sat beside her father, and looked at the sea with him.

Staring at the calm surface, Noa said:

“People are looking for girlfriends, getting sick, going out... feels like there’s really no one left.”

After a moment of silence, Leon suddenly lifted his head.

“No. There’s still one.”

Noa raised an eyebrow.

“Who?”

“Heh heh!”

General Leon stood up, full of confidence.

“This person, under normal circumstances, absolutely won’t get sick. And if there’s nothing urgent, he never goes out. Most importantly—he also just won’t have any girlfriend at all. Noa, we’re going to find him!”
