Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 315: Chapter 313:”Father... Thy will be done.”

”Your eminence.” The voice of two youths echoed within the quiet halls of the cathedral.

There, kneeling before the chancel of the cathedral, were two young men.

One had pure crimson-gold hair. Dressed in a plain golden robe. He looked like your everyday youth with his head bowed, but the two pairs of golden feathered wings folded behind him told a different story.

The other was the complete opposite. Nothing of him could be seen. He was large. Taller than even the white haired youth. His massive frame was clad in a pristine silver armor that glistened even in the dim lighting of the cathedral halls.

A massive silver sword was planted firmly by his side, the sheath of which was clasped firmly behind him.

His head just like that of the feathered youth remained bowed as they both awaited the response of the one they called eminence.

”Children. Raise your heads.” The calm and authoritative voice of the one they addressed as eminence sounded out as the two youths finally raised their heads.

”How was your time away.” The man asked.

”I am graced by your concern. It was.. fulfilling.” The blond youth smiled. His pupils, shaped like inverted triangles, glowing slightly.

”It was bland.” The silver armored youth replied plainly.

”Now. Now. Joshua. The tower was fun. You’re just upset Morvak was still able to beat you down.” The blond youth laughed.

”Hmmm..” An annoyed growl tore out the throat of the armored youth.

”I am glad to see you two good and well.”

”You praise us too much, your eminence.”

”What about your mission with the vessel?” At the man’s question the two youths fell silent.

”No progress?”

”Haa.. she has proven... difficult.” The blond youth replied.

”And sir Voren? He has not made any moves to convince her?”

”Instructor Voren has explicitly stated that he will not involve himself in these matters. And we dare not force it. She is... unstable.”

”That senile old fool. I fail to understand why the seraphs still tolerate his impudence.” The man spat.

”But, no matter. Let her throw her tantrums. Her time is already running out.” The man sneered.

”Soon, she will have no choice but to return.”

.....

.....

A silence fell between them as the blond youth finally asked.

”Your eminence. If I may be presumptuous as to ask, was this the only reason for your summons?.”

The man called eminence fell quiet.

”Haa...” a melancholic and exhausted sigh.

”Your brother. Uriah....”

”Hmm? What about him? Did he finally break through in his bloodline?” The blond youth smiled. A proud expression appearing on his face.

”... he is dead.”

....

....

A heavy silence fell upon the entire hall as the armored youth shifted slightly.

”Your eminence. Forgive me. But I think my hearing might’ve failed me.” The blond youth’s voice had gone dry. A heavy murderous intent leaking out of him. His wings spreading out slowly. His pupils spinning in dizzying motion.

”You didn’t just say my brother. My own brother. Died. Did you?”

...

...

”Haa... it was beyond my con....”

”IMPUDENCE!!!!!!”

BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!! The entire hall exploded as the young man’s aura erupted.

His wings spreading out as a torrential downpour of heavy light swords split the heavens.

”WHO!!! WHO DARED!!!!” A mighty roar tore through the heavens as the figure of a massive sword wielding winged figure manifested.

The avatar drew its blade, the tip pointed at the earth. The whole place quaked and trembled in the presence of the raging figure.

”Kael...” the man called eminence, surrounded by a halo of white light, remained unruffled. The dust, debris, and sheer ferocity of the youth’s aura not even ruffling the hem of his robe.

”I shall plunge this entire continent into darkness!!!” The youth wasn’t listening.

”Haaa... Lord Kaelel.” The man sighed, calling out in a tired voice.

The moment his words left his mouth.

”MY SON!” A deep voice sounded from the heavens, instantly halting the rampaging youth.

”Fa.. Father..”

”MY SON! QUELL YOUR RAGE.”

”But father.. these humans. They lie. They say that..”

”IT IS NO LIE.” The confirmation was a hammer to the chest as the youth’s momentum died off completely.

His figure plummeted from the sky, crashing into the earth.

”No... no... Uriah. It can’t be.” The weeping sobs of the young man could be heard coming from the crater his fall had created.

”MY SON!”

”I told him.. I told him to wait. Wait until your bloodline is fully unlocked. That self righteous idiot. Uriah. How? It can’t be. It can’t be.” The pain was clear. His mind seemed broken by the realization that his brother had truly been taken from him.

”My son...” the voice from the heavens had lost all its majesty.

”Father.. how.. how could you allow it. How could you allow my brother die. HOWWWWWW???” The young man howled at the sky. Bloody tears falling from his eyes.

”It was.... Outside my control..” the voice replied. Yet instead of another backlash,

”He’ll revive. Yes. Hahahaha!! I forgot! He’s still a celestial at his core. Hahahaha!! I knew it! It’ll be impossible for any of these humans to kill my own brother! Hahahahaha!!!” The young man began laughing hysterically instead. At this point, he wasn’t bothered to put on the facade of caring about the perceived ”respect” he was parading earlier, merely excited at the thought that his brother couldn’t possibly be dead.

.....

.....

”Father. Why have you gone silent..”

...

”Father. Answer me. How long till my brother revives?”

....

”Father. Please...”

”Forgive me my son...”

”No.... Please...”

”I... failed you.”

”I have failed you both.”

”Uriah.....” the young man fell silent. The tears refused to stop.

”Your eminence.” The gravely voice of the armored youth echoed through the silence.

THUD!

THUD!

THUD!

The sound of heavy footsteps falling filled the place.

”My lord Kaelel.”

The armored youth finally stopped outside the crater his friend had collapsed into.

”Young Joshua. It please me to see brilliant youths of the light like yourself. You bring honor to our goddess.” The voice complimented. The majesty within having gone muted.

”Who?”

One word. That was all the youth gave.

.....

”A young man by the name Dante. Dante Draven.”

The man called eminence replied. His voice still calm. Still authoritative.

”Where?”

”The abyss. The next ascension exam. He plans on partaking.”

”Hmm.” The young man grunted. Sitting cross legged outside the crater.

”He is strong.” The man spoke up once more.

”Strong enough to vanquish an avatar of mine.” The voice belonging to the one called Kaelel added for context.

The armored youth remained silent for a few moments before,

”The abyss. Terra holds no influence there.”

....

”He is the disciple of the paragon of war.” The eminence replied back.

”What is a paragon in the presence of my lord seraph. All I need. All WE need is your blessing. Your guidance. And the abyss shall be his eternal resting place.”

Another heavy silence fell upon the entire place as no one spoke. They all seemed to be awaiting the response of the one called Kaelel. And they didn’t have to wait long.

SHING!!

A golden light from the heavens bathed the sitting figure of the armored youth and the still motionless figure of the celestial youth.

Their auras spiked. The entire place quaking from the mere release of their presence.

”My lord... you...” the eminence’s eyes widened in shock as he witnessed what was happening.

”That audacious mortal dared to take the life of a child of mine. He has more than spat in the name of my celestial honor. He must pay.”

WENG!!!!

The golden light intensified.

”Go, Joshua. Avenge my child. Punish the heretic that dare lay hands on that which is sacred.”

A golden crown of light appeared above the head of the armored youth. His silver armor gaining a golden hue.

”Rise, Kael, born of the light. Go forth and avenge your brother. Bring to justice the fool that dared besmirch our sanctity.”

SHIING!!!

The aura of the blond youth deepened even further as another pair of wings sprouted from his back.

”Go forth. Children. And bring to heel, the heretic...

.... Dante Draven!”

...

...

”As you wish, my lord.”

”Father. Thy will be done.”
