Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 257: Chapter 256:Let’s get this mission started!

”I still don’t like this.” Kaila’s disapproving voice sounded out as the girls got ready for their mission.

It had already been two days since I volunteered to accompany Khalifa on her demon noble mission, and needless to say, I hadn’t had one moment of peace throughout these two days.

Kaila made sure to drill into my head so thoroughly, the fact that nothing was allowed to happen to her sister.

It would’ve been annoying if it wasn’t very satisfying to see the mischievous woman so anxious and worried, it felt like I was seeing a different version of her, one she normally didn’t let out.

”Haaa... Kaila, we’ve been over this a million times already, can you let it go?.” Mira sighed in exhaustion.

”I can’t! You guys know what those bastards in Enviria do to the women they capture!”

”But Dante won’t let such a thing happen to Khalifa, so why are you still so stressed?” Melissa comforted her friend.

”She’s right you know.” I suddenly interjected, ”besides, you’re here worrying about us, when I should be the one worrying about you girls, after all, it’s not like your mission is any less dangerous.” I retorted.

”This is different! We’re four people, you guys are only two, we have more hands should things go wrong!”

”Heh!” I snickered, and then.

POOF!!!

””You were saying??”” Three other true clones materialized right beside me as they smiled at the nervous Kaila.

”Relax Kaila, seriously, if there’s anyone best fit to accompany Khalifa, then it would be Dante, you can trust him to keep her safe.” Cara patted the young elf on the back, speaking calmly.

Kaila, seemingly having a billion words to say yet being unable to do so, simply looked me in the eye and said, ”if anything happens to my sister, I’ll kill you, I swear.”

I smiled, ”relax,” brushing off her words as my clones came undone, ”if anything were to happen to Khalifa, then it means I was already dead to begin with.”

The young woman seemed a bit more relaxed after hearing my words.

She turned toward her sister, ”be careful khali, don’t go getting yourself into impossible situations, you hear me?” She lectured as she hugged her sister.

”You worry too much Kaila, it’s me we’re talking about! I’ll be back with that bastard’s head before you even know it.” Khalifa postured proudly after they separated.

”Heh! Just don’t die on me and I’ll be fine.”

”Then you’ve got yourself a deal!”

”Good!”

”Awwwnn... I swear you guys are cute when you worry about each other.”

””Shut it Dante!””

”Hahahahahahaha....”

.......

”Bye bye...” I waved at the ascending figures of the girls as the four of them, Cara, Melissa, Mira, and Kaila, boarded a massive galleon that had been parked right above my manor, yet somehow still alluded my senses, the insignia of a silver crescent moon that looked like it was woven from glowing magic, emblazoned boldly on its side.

”So... I guess it’s just you and me now.” I said to Khalifa beside me.

”Humph! Don’t go getting any ideas, just because we’re alone doesn’t mean you can make any moves.”

”I wasn’t even thinking anything, just what type of person do you think I am?”

”A pervert that surrounds himself with women everytime.”

”YOU GUYS MOVED IN!!!! I WAS TRYING TO CHASE YOU OUT!!!!!”

”Humph! Excuses, you think anyone will believe your act?”

”WHAT ACT!??? I clearly told you girls, NO! But YOU!! Insisted, how’s that my fault!??”

”Humph! Just acting oblivious.” She scoffed, turned, then walked away, arms crossed over her chest.

”Haaa... I’m starting to rethink this whole volunteering thing.” I could only drag a hand over my face as I lamented the situation I just threw myself into.

”Let’s just get this over with...”

....

....

The demon continent!

Once known as the Neutral Continent, a floating piece of land that didn’t lose in size to any of the four continents.

It was a place of mutual integration, where races from all over convened, whether it be for businesses, entertainment, or any other reason, it was a hub of activity, it didn’t belong to any single force, as different powers took turn sending a Constable every year to handle the entire continent.

It was the first place to fall when the demons invaded all those years ago.

Their corruption at that time swept through the land like a tide, turning everything, man, beast, land, into a vessel of corruption.

Those who were unlucky died, the lucky ones mutated into something else.

The demons took the land in a ferocious assault, and from there, launched their attacks on terra.

After the war had ended, the demons claimed the Neutral Continent as their sole possession, promptly changing its name to the Demon continent.

The power within the entire continent was shared be the seven ruling demonic empires, each one led by a demon king/queen.

The Hubris empire, ruled by the Tyrant demon lineage, House Vaelthar, at their head, The demon king of pride, Lucifer Vaelthar.

The Wratharis empire, ruled by the Carnaxis demon lineage, House Draugrath, at their head, The demon king of wrath, Azroth Draugrath.

The Dreamless empire, ruled by the Dream demons, House Morphegor, at their head, The demon queen of sloth, Aisheth Morphegor.

Lustria, ruled by the lust demons, House Astariel, at their head, The demon queen of lust, Lilith Astariel.

The empire of Gold, ruled by the Golden Devil demons, House Mamryx, at their head, The demon king of greed, Belphegor Mamryx.

Enviria, ruled by the serpent demons, House Nidhoros, at their head, The demon king of envy, Asmodeus Nidhoros.

Hungaria, ruled by the Ravenous demons, House Behemut, at their head, The demon queen of gluttony, Consort Behemut.

No one of these seven empires is officially acknowledged to be the strongest of them, but among the powers of terra, the Vaelthar, Behemut, and Draugrath, are said to be the most formidable in battle.

Vaelthars with their indomitable presence and tactical superiority, suppressive authority, and Command genius, are said to be impossible to defeat in battle.

Draugraths wielding Battle authority and complete control over the concept of rage itself, are by far the most fearsome force on any battlefield.

But perhaps the Behemut were the only force no one truly wished to antagonize. Their ravenous and insatiable hunger knows no ends as they feast on any and everything, becoming literal consuming anomalies on any battlefield.

The other kingdoms, despite being formidable on their own, lose out to these three in pure battliefued dominance, but that, didn’t by any means, mean that they were weak.

For weakness on terra, is nothing but a sign of courting death.

........

Enviria.

Border town.

”Alright Dante! Get up, we’re here, time to get this mission started!”
