Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 83: Chapter 82:Death Fragment..

The day ended without anything exciting happening..

I couldn’t reach Melissa for some reason, so I just slept off after teasing my beautiful aunt a bit more...

.....

”Ugghhh...” I woke up the next day, groaning and annoyed...

For some reason, the night hadn’t been as comfortable as the last few nights I’d spent, I wonder why?

(A/N: horny bastard wishes he can bury his tool somewhere..heh)

*********

”Alright, let’s see just what this is all about”

I had just gotten out the bath, not bothering to put anything on, I was perfectly comfortable in my bathrobe, thank you very much..

Now, I’d decided to ignore it completely yesterday because I was exhausted mentally and physically, not in any mood to be checking out gains..

But now, I had only a few hours before needing to gather back at the Solarium Spire, so I decide it was time to finally check out what that ding from earlier was all about..

I willed the system log open..

[DING!!]

The familiar chiming of my sham system seemed to have a grounding effect on me..

It felt like forever since I last heard the annoying thing’s voice..

[You have slain: Avatar of death(sealed state), x1 death fragment...

[You have slain: Avatar of death(sealed state), x1 death fragment...

”Huh? Now what the hell is this all about?” Avatar of death? Was that all they were?

So they were still merely projections after all..

Just how inhumanly powerful do you have to be for your projections to be so monstrous..

My expression fell even further when I registered the (Sealed state) tag behind their names..

Not only were they mere projections, but they were SEALED projections at that..

So their true projections weren’t even allowed to appear with their real strength?

”Fuck me.. those two old men are really that powerful?”...

’so, you’re telling me, that I wasn’t even qualified enough to face their mere projections at full strength?’...

For the second time in less than a whole 24 hour cycle, I’d been humbled properly..

”Dad, just what the fuck were you involved in, getting me involved in such troublesome affairs”.. I sighed ruefully..

”Now, what do I do with these things” i muttered, pulling out a death fragment from my inventory..

As expected, it was a pitch black hexagonal crystal not any large than a baby’s fist, the thick aura of death escaping it made it clear just what it was, even without the system telling me anything...

By the way, I’d just realized, for all my system’s claims about being all powerful and shit, this sham thing hadn’t even bothered to give me an inspective or analytical ability..

[....]

”Of course you’d be silent, you sham system” I sneered..

Deciding not to waste anymore time on my futile inspection of the item in my hand, I did the only thing I could possibly do at this moment..

Devour!!

A black mist coated my palm as it engulfed the entirety of the crystal..

I hadn’t bothered to check just how much my comprehension had increased during the battle, but it seemed to have taken a significant leap..

From the depressing number of zeros to just a few decimals behind 1% I was finally making headway in this law I’d stumbled upon..

Without dawdling, I pulled out the second fragment, promptly devouring it as well..

”Hmmm.. you know what they say, slow progress is better than no progress” I tried hyping myself up...

Done with what was the only unfinished business I had, I decided to get dressed and head out, the next tests awaited..

......

The environment around the solarium spire seemed even more crowded and charged than the day before, the noise and chatter from the people gave the entire area a lively atmosphere..

Honestly, hearing of the reputation behind the previous academy trials, I’d expected a more solemn atmosphere, yet this, I couldn’t lie, was much more to my liking, a smile unconsciously appeared in my face...

”There he is!!!!”

A deafening shout broke me from my thoughts...

”Dante!!!! Oh my god... it’s him!!!” A maddening shriek almost sent me flying out my shoes..

”Goddamn, who’s that siren??” I couldn’t help yelling back in frustration..

It was futile..

The crowd seemed timed to be have been set off the Moment I appeared...

A stampede of people heading towards me..

”Yea, no way are we doing that..” I didn’t survive two unattractive death metals just to be mauled to death by an overexcited crowd..

I spread my perception immediately, not bothering with the cost, willing myself gone from the public’s reach immediately...

”Where is he..”

”Where’d he go..”

The crowd’s confused chatter reached my ears as I appeared swiftly on the platform meant for the candidates themselves...

”Heh... running from your adoring fans? What happened to all that confidence from earlier..” the thick voice of the overseer Valen, sounded right behind my sweaty frame...

I swiveled, only to be met with his annoying smirk..

”No offense sir, but I think I liked you better when you were a brooding robot” I couldn’t help replying..

This smiling Valen was seriously getting in my nerves..

”Acckkk....” He visibly gagged, the smirk being wiped off is face..

A surge satisfaction thrummed through, although It didn’t last long, as another annoying voice broke my jubilation..

”Humph... running from your worshippers, and you hope to amount to anything big..”

Leo, that goddamn griffin seemed to have an opinion as well, his voice sounding amused and mocking..

”Goddamn creation misfire..” I retaliated immediately, I’d be damned if I light a blender mishap get the last laugh...

”You take that back, right this instant!!”he seemed to have heard my words, I didn’t know how, I didn’t care either...

”I already said someone with identity crisis like you has no say in anything...” I sneered, making sure to hit right below the belt....

”Motherfucker!!!”

”Language young man..”

”Language your mother... you better not let me get my hands on you...” his seething voice only made me smile..

”Try me, I’ll turn you into crispy chicken wings, at least that way we’d have fixed you a proper identity... A chicken.. sound fitting..”

”Danteeeeeeeee!!!!”...

”Hahahahaha....”

Shingggg!!!!

A brilliant flash of light killed my laughter immediately..

....

It seems time was up as soon after, the surviving participants appeared in a brilliant flash of light...

It was finally time to know the results of the first phase...
