The Sea Queen of 1985

Chapter 485: Chapter 485: Anti-Japanese Treasure Hunter

On their way, the sea patrol warned the fishing boats still trailing Jinshan Bay.

If they continued their dangerous navigating, all Jinshan Bay had to do was report them with photos of their boats, and the authorities would be dispatched.

Seeing the sea patrol issue another warning, the fishermen didn’t dare to keep following.

Besides, they discovered that by keeping some distance from the Jinshan Bay fishing boats, they actually caught slightly more fish than before. It wasn’t just seaweed anymore; at least there were a few fish.

After the sea patrol boats left, the captains communicated with each other.

They discovered another thing: the farther a fishing boat was from the Jinshan Bay vessels, the more it caught.

So, one by one, they stopped following and started fishing based on their own experience.

The next day, Chen Yishui noticed that not as many fishing boats were following them anymore.

There were still a few, in twos and threes, but they kept a great distance.

Chen Yishui could finally let out the breath of resentment that had been stuck in his chest.

Without so many loathsome people around, everyone’s morale for fishing was exceptionally high.

They were bustling with activity, and though it was a bit tiring, everyone was very happy.

In the blink of an eye, it was October 1st, National Day.

On this day, at the cinema on the commercial street, *Anti-Japanese Treasure Hunter* officially premiered.

This film was funded by Han Xiaorui’s Jinshan Bay Investment Company and produced in collaboration with the Shencheng Film Studio. It was a movie that recreated history, based on the contents of a martyr’s notebook.

Today, Han Xiaorui had booked an entire theater and specially invited her family and friends to watch the movie together.

Old Madam Xu and Mr. Xu were also among the invitees.

From the script to the filming, Han Xiaorui had provided a great deal of help and had even visited the set in person.

However, she trusted that the staff of the Shencheng Film Studio would treat this film with the utmost seriousness.

Not only did this film tell a moving and heroic story, but it was also backed by the many treasures displayed in the Jinshan Bay Museum.

Through the camera lens, they recreated that period of history and presented it to the audience.

As the stirring music began to play, the story gradually unfolded.

The heroes received their mission, vowing to retrieve the treasures even if it meant death. After overcoming incredible hardships and obstacles, they ultimately fell in battle.

Fortunately, the treasures these heroes had reclaimed with their lives were hidden in a secret cave.

Forty years later, thanks to Han Xiaorui, these treasures were brought to light once more, allowing more people to learn about that tumultuous era of suffering and war and to remember the countless individuals who threw themselves into the fray, shedding their blood and giving their lives to defend their homeland.

There were moments of camaraderie and playful mischief among the soldiers, finding joy amidst hardship, that made the audience smile.

There was also the immense disparity in strength between friend and foe, which filled the audience with anxiety.

The soldiers used their ingenuity, coming up with clever ideas to snatch back the national treasures, allowing the audience’s tension to gradually ease.

But as the enemy counterattacked and gave chase, the audience was once again filled with anxiety.

When they saw the soldiers all die heroic deaths, many shed tears of sorrow.

The audience’s tears weren’t just for the heroes’ sacrifices; they were also bitter tears for that era of invasion and colonization.

Fortunately, thanks to the tragic but heroic resistance of countless martyrs and heroes, our nation finally drove out the invaders and stood up once again.

Everyone walked out of the cinema with red eyes. Old Madam Xu said, ”That was a good movie!”

Mr. Xu nodded. ”Yes, it is. This is why, even after suffering much unjust treatment in the past, I still love the land beneath my feet without a second thought!”

”These are our roots. Everything here belongs to us, the people of Hua Country! Anyone who tries to invade or plunder it will never succeed and will pay a heavy price.”

”I also believe that our Hua Country will definitely develop and become prosperous and strong. There will be many twists and turns along the way, but our nation’s unity and our thousands of years of cultural heritage will support us as we press bravely forward.”

Han Xiaorui and Ye Feng listened to the two elders’ words, engraving them in their hearts.

’If you don’t even love your own country, can you really expect foreigners to love the land of Hua Country?’

’What a joke!’

The people of Old Shencheng City who once saw the sign ”No Chinese and Dogs Allowed” in the concessions are still alive.

Back then, in the eyes of foreigners, the people of Hua Country were no different from dogs.

They plundered Hua Country’s resources, enslaved its people, and then tossed them a meatless bone.

Ye Feng replied, ”Grandfather, our generation has already worked very hard. Now, it’s our turn to take the stage!”

Hearing this, Mr. Xu was very gratified. ”Seeing you and Xiao Rui, I know that Hua Country has millions upon millions of young people like you, ready to take up the ideals of the older generation and strive forward.”

After the movie, Han Xiaorui invited her grandparents and the rest of their large family to eat at Zhang Guangnan’s hotel.

At this time, every showing at the Jinshan Bay cinema was sold out. Every household in Jinshan Bay knew about the treasure discovery last year and the heroic deeds associated with it.

Now that it had been made into a movie, many places in their own Jinshan Bay had become filming locations.

Even some of the old men and women from the village, as well as other villagers with unique looks suitable for roles in the movie, had rushed to become extras.

During the filming, they were only provided with meals, no pay, but the villagers were still scrambling over each other for a chance to be an extra.

Even the old village secretary, Uncle Liu, eagerly tried to get a part as an extra.

But the director said Uncle Liu was a bit too fat. He looked more like a landlord or a capitalist from that era, not at all like a poor commoner.

If he absolutely had to have a role, he could play a Japanese devil with a little mustache.

Uncle Liu was not happy when he heard that.

He had been in the guerrilla forces back in the day, a member of the resistance! How could he play a ”little devil”?

Now that he was older and life was better, he had gotten fat. Even if Uncle Liu wanted to lose weight, it was too late. He was very disappointed that he couldn’t be in the movie.

Today, on the day of the official premiere, Uncle Liu took his family to see the movie.

Not only that, he also called all his relatives and friends to come see the movie, his treat.

The foot traffic in Jinshan Bay was very high now. After visiting the Jinshan Bay Museum, people would learn that the related movie had been released and would buy tickets to see it.

For a time, the attendance rate at the Jinshan Bay cinema was extremely high, with nearly every show sold out.

The movie had great word-of-mouth, and those who saw it would recommend it to others.

The film was released in major cinemas all across the country.

In this era, cinemas were still state-run enterprises, and they were located in the cities.

Although the vast rural areas had no cinemas, they had village projectionists.

These people would travel with their equipment and film reels, showing movies in the villages.

This well-made film was excellent in every aspect, from its plot to its content.

It not only had patriotic sentiments but also a human touch, making it a rare gem of a movie.

Many people watched it, especially students, as schools also organized viewings.

They were deeply moved while watching the movie, but having to write a report on it afterward made many students unhappy.

But even so, the film planted a seed of patriotism in the hearts of these students.

’No one can take what belongs to our Hua Country.’

’Even for the things that were stolen, once we are strong, we must make them return them on their knees.’

’And if they don’t give them back, we will take them back ourselves.’
