Immortal of the Nine Realms

Huang Liangyue’s face was dark. ”Have you found out who he is? Hurry up and start talking!”

”Deacon Huang, hurry up and tell us. Our Huang Family will not let this slide easily!” said Huang Hao as he massaged his temples.

The cultivators who had been about to leave stopped in their tracks, curiously looking toward Deacon Huang, wanting to know who Fang Chen was.

Deacon Huang showed a bitter smile on his face. ”Head, this sword cultivator has already caused quite a huge disaster.”

Huang Liangyue frowned. ”What did you say?”

Everyone was suddenly curious. What huge disaster could he be referring to?

”I found out that this sword cultivator docked at Bai Family’s port,” said Deacon Huang.

Before he could continue, he was interrupted by Huang Hao, who bellowed, ”Was it the Bai Family who sent him over? They are courting death!”

Huang Liangyue’s face turned a shade more gloomy, and the Liu Family Head revealed a look of realization.

No wonder a sword cultivator had suddenly come to cause trouble. The Bai Family knew that they had the Green Jade Lotus, and they had to have told him about it. They probably wanted the sword cultivator to cause trouble for them!

Huang Liangyue laughed angrily. ”What a Bai Family! Looks like they can’t hold back anymore.”

“No, no, it’s not the Bai Family,” stuttered Deacon Huang. “The Bai Family doesn’t have the capacity to order him around.”

It wasn’t the Bai Family?

Huang Liangyue’s voice carried a hint of anger. ”Then stop messing around and tell us! Don’t beat around the bush!”

Deacon Huang cursed inwardly. If it weren’t for Huang Hao constantly interrupting him, he would’ve already said it, dammit!

He cleared his throat and slowly said, ”I heard that before the sword cultivator moored his ship, he had killed the Sea Dragon Sect’s young sect master and several 12th stage Qi Refining Realm cultivators from the Sea Dragon Sect. Next, the Lord of Green Mountain Island of the Sea Dragon Sect appeared at the Bai Family Port, chasing him. Not long after, this swordsman showed up at the Bai Family, stating that he had killed the Lord of Green Mountain Island!”

The surroundings fell into a pin-drop silence.

Astonishment slowly appeared on Huang Liangyue’s face.

Sea Dragon Sect? Their young sect master was killed?

The Lord of Green Mountain Island... Xue Fenggui... was slain?

”My heavens! That sword cultivator has the strength to kill someone at the Foundation Building Realm?”

”No wonder... no wonder he was so calm. He didn’t seem afraid of the two ancestors of the Huang and Liu families....”

Everyone commented in shock.

”Is this information reliable?” asked Huang Liangyue, his voice hoarse.

Deacon Huang showed a bitter smile. ”These are the words of the spies we planted within the Bai Family. It’s absolutely true.”

Huang Liangyue fell silent once again.

Huang Hao didn’t have the courage to look his father in the eyes, and he hung his head. He understood that he had almost brought a disaster upon the family.

”A sword cultivator who is not even afraid of the Sea Dragon Sect...” The Liu Family Patriarch looked at Huang Liangyue. ”Brother Huang, he definitely has a strong background! We better not provoke him any further.”

Huang Liangyue nodded heavily. After a pause, he looked at Huang Hao. ”You were too impulsive. Just stay at home and don’t go out for ten years.”

Ten years...

Huang Hao’s face showed bitterness. ”Yes, Father.”

”As for that sword cultivator,” said Huang Liangyue coldly, “we have business relations with the Sea Dragon Sect. We can’t keep this hidden from them. Send someone to notify them.”

The Liu Family Head nodded slightly. ”That’s a good idea.”

”The territory of the Flame Empire is really vast. There isn’t much difference in the seasons and it seems to be spring all year round here!”

”Liu Mu, look at their citizens; their stature is tall and robust. They seem to be more tall on average compared to the people of Grand Xia. You can even sense their vigorous vitality and spirited energy. So this is the difference between Grand Xia and a sixth-tier empire. From the rice to the water they drink... everything contains spiritual energy! Grand Xia is really too far behind...!” Fang Chen sighed somewhat.

Yes, Grand Xia was gradually growing stronger, but for it to reach the level of the Flame Empire, one person wasn’t enough to bring about the winds of change. They needed a long time and a lot of accumulation. All he did was to plant a seed. Now, there was a possibility for Grand Xia to reach the same levels as the Flame Empire, and to be just as strong.

Liu Mu couldn’t hear any of Fang Chen’s words at all from the howling wind. He couldn’t even open his eyes!

Seeing that, Fang Chen couldn’t help but laugh. ”Alright, alright, we’re almost there.”

A short while later, they landed in front of a mountain pass.

With his sword intent disappearing, Fang Chen stared at the plaque before him. It read “Concealed Moon Hermitage.”

“Someone from the Sword Sect in the Qingzhou Sword Sect is here!” A cry rang through the air as several nuns rushed out of the entrance. All of them stared at Fang Chen with serious expressions.

Liu Mu was too stunned for words.

Isn’t Lord Fang friends with the people of the Concealed Moon Hermitage? What kind of welcome is this...?

Fang Chen chucked when he saw their reaction.

“What are you laughing at? We don’t welcome cultivators from the Qing Continent’s Sword Sect here. Please leave!” said the nun in the lead, her face adorned with a frown.

She was clearly someone at the sixth stage of Qi Refining Realm. For a sect with a Foundation Building Realm expert at its helm, she was probably someone at the level of a senior sister. In fact, it was possible for her to be an Elder or a Deacon.

“We’re not from the Qing Continent Sword Sect,” said Fang Chen.

“You’re lying! I’ve felt your sword intent a long time before you arrived!” said one of the nuns.

Fang Chen laughed in response. “Is Abbess Qing He here? Or is Abbess Zhu Yue? They know how I am.”

”You know our junior sister? You even know Abbess Zhu Yue?” asked the nun in the lead.

Fang Chen nodded. ”Can you please tell them that an old friend from Grand Xia is here?”

”Grand Xia?” The leading nun’s eyes suddenly lit up. “Oh! Are you Lord Fang, the one Junior Sister Qing He has been talking about?”

The faces of the other nuns relaxed a little as they sized him up. They knew that the Grand Xia was only a ninth-tier empire in some remote land.

The fact that Fang Chen could arrive at the Concealed Moon Hermitage showed that he wasn’t weak. It was rare for someone from a ninth-tier empire to do what he did.

Fang Chen smiled and nodded.

In response, she finally sent someone to pass on the message. After some time, Qing He emerged. She was shocked to see him. “Lord Fang, what brings you here?”

Finally confirming his identity, the nuns were no longer as tense as before.

”I just happened to be passing by and thought I’d come for a visit. I hope I’m not disturbing you,” said Fang Chen with a smile.

Abbess Qing He hurriedly replied, ”Not at all, not at all! It’s just that...” she turned hesitant, ”now is not a good time for us to receive guests....”

”Is something wrong? Is it related to that ‘Qingzhou Sword Sect?’” asked Fang Chen casually.

”This... I am to be blamed for this...” muttered Abbess Qing He softly. She seemed to be feeling guilty.

Before she could continue, Abbess Zhu Yue, who arrived at the mountain gate at some point, was finally noticed by everyone present.

Seeing her, Fang Chen cupped his fist. ”Abbess Zhu Yue.”

Abbess Zhu Yue assessed Fang Chen for a moment and then nodded slightly. ”Please come in, Young Master Fang.”
