Immortal of the Nine Realms

The silver sword embryo ignored Fang Chen’s reaction and continued to convey its needs incessantly.

Fang Chen’s expression darkened. This fellow sure had an extraordinary origin. If the scene he saw earlier was indeed real, then it would mean that the sword embryo in front of him was actually the core of a massive planet!

The giant hand that appeared likely belonged to a horrifying existence!

But none of that mattered, if the silver sword embryo kept demanding excessively and wanted a continuous supply of blood essence, then that would mean that it was an evil entity. It not only couldn’t be used but also needed to be suppressed somehow. Otherwise, its existence would be akin to a ticking time bomb, ready to explode at any moment.

Suddenly, Fang Chen sensed that the emotions conveyed by the sword embryo had turned a bit aggrieved.

”You don’t want my blood essence?” asked Fang Chen in amazement.

The sword embryo immediately swayed from side to side.

Fang Chen subconsciously asked, ”Then, what do you want to eat?” The silver sword embryo couldn’t convey more precise information, perhaps because the connection between it and Fang Chen wasn’t yet complete. However, Fang Chen could sense that it was becoming gradually anxious.

”Don’t worry, I’ll think about it,” Fang Chen reassured it, and his thoughts started churning. As long as the sword embryo wasn’t evil, then it’s all good.

After a few breaths, Fang Chen’s eyes lit up. He immediately took out the fragments of the dragon truncheon from his storage ring.

”Is this what you want?”

The sword embryo’s next actions were enough of a response, as it immediately wrapped the fragment with the bubbles that rose from its body. It seemed to be digesting the dragon truncheon’s fragments. After about a dozen breaths, it let out a big bubble, as if it had just burped after a good meal.

Fang Chen had been observing it and discovered that after swallowing the fragment, its aura seemed to have increased, and the connection between them appeared to have become even closer.

Fang Chen’s face turned strange. A Spiritual Treasure that could devour other Spiritual Treasures?

He wasn’t sure if there were similar Spiritual Treasures in the cultivation world, but that aspect alone demonstrated the extraordinary nature of the sword embryo. As long as it had a continuous supply of Spiritual Treasures to devour, wouldn’t it become stronger and stronger?

The sword embryo started circling around Fang Chen. ”Hungry, hungry...”

Fang Chen could sense its thoughts more clearly now!

”Still hungry?” mouthed Fang Chen. “Even though these were just fragments of the dragon truncheon, they were still fragments of a treasure with twelve Soul Imprints....”

”Tr...ash...”

”...”

Fang Chen stared seriously at the sword embryo and said slowly, ”You’re still so young. You shouldn’t use bad language.”

”Hungry, hungry, very hungry!”

”Wait a moment.”

Fang Chen immediately threw out all the treasures he had out from his storage ring. Most of these were obtained from the Heavenly Southern Sect cultivators. He had initially intended to keep them, but he decided to let them go now. If Xu Ge and others had the chance to become cultivators in the future, they might’ve found these to be helpful. At worst, even if they didn’t, he could sell them for a bit of spirit stones. But since they could be of use now, he would use them to feed his “child.”

The sword embryo became incredibly excited at the sight of treasures, and in just a short moment, it devoured all of the treasures Fang Chen threw at it, causing its aura to rise once again.

”Burp...”

Fang Chen sensed its message. It was finally full and satisfied.

Fang Chen asked, ”You’re full now, right? Can you transform into a flying sword for me to manipulate?”

Without saying a word, the sword embryo directly entered Fang Chen’s sea of consciousness. Fang Chen subconsciously touched his forehead and then closed his eyes to inspect the situation inside his body, but he couldn’t find where the sword embryo had gone.

Fang Chen felt a bit puzzled. ”Where is it hiding?”

Did it decide to take a nap now that it was full?

Meanwhile, elsewhere, a figure slowly opened his eyes. A voice, ancient and weathered, resonated from his mouth. ”The stolen Great Desolate Sword Embryo has been refined. Find this person quickly and retrieve the sword embryo.”

In just a moment, the voice echoed throughout the universe.

”Yes, Ancestor!”

”We obey the command of the Ancestor!”

Figures flew out from the Void Immortal Sword Sect, respectfully bowing in the same direction before flying in all directions. Each of these beings was renowned in the cultivation world, known as Sword Immortals, the kings of the Sword Dao.

Some had been in seclusion for centuries and others had been sleeping for a millennium.

Their actions immediately alarmed the major sects in the cultivation world. Many sent people to inquire about what had happened to the Void Immortal Sword Sect and why it was that some old monsters had come out of seclusion.

Those who were unaware were confused.

Those who knew remained silent, shaking their heads slightly.

”My lord, I’ve broken through the Qi Core Stage.”

Xu Ge stood excitedly in front of Fang Chen. His rapid breakthrough was partly due to the Bone Tempering Pills and partially due to the numerous battles he had experienced while following Fang Chen. Additionally, he had received guidance from Zhao Yan.

Fang Chen smiled. ”After Qi Core comes the Vajra Qi of the Earth Profound Stage. I’ll pass on the Purple Qi Manual to you. From now on, you can cultivate both martial arts and immortality. Whether you can succeed or not depends on yourself.”

Xu Ge nodded excitedly. ”Thank you, Young Master!”

Zhao Yan’s face revealed a look of envy. Although he had his own martial arts inheritance, he also yearned to step into the path of immortality.

Fang Chen looked at Zhao Yan. ”Do you also want to cultivate immortality and seek the Dao?”

Zhao Yan nodded. ”Yes.”

Fang Chen smiled. ”When you break through to the Heaven Profound Stage, I will impart to you the method of cultivation. This way, you won’t be distracted by cultivating immortality and forget your martial path.”

Zhao Yan was slightly surprised, and a smile appeared on his face. ”Thank you, my lord. That day would not be far away.”

Fang Chen knew he wasn’t just making empty promises. During the past few days, Zhao Yan’s martial aura had become even stronger. It wouldn’t be long before he achieved the completion of Longevity Qi, and the next step would be the Heaven Profound Stage.

Even in a seventh-tier empire, a martial artist in the Heaven Profound Stage wasn’t considered weak. Even Elder Yun He mentioned that cultivators at the twelfth stage of the Qi Refining Realm were equivalent to the peak of the Heaven Profound Stage.

Considering the hint of fear that Liu Suifeng had shown when talking about martial artists in the Heaven Profound Stage, Fang Chen speculated that the stage would bring about a transformation, granting martial artists the ability to contend with cultivators. The specifics would have to be confirmed once Zhao Yan reached that realm.

It was then that Ji Lengxing’s respectful voice came from outside the door. ”Lord Fang.”

Fang Chen pushed the door and walked out.

Ji Lengxing quickly greeted him, then whispered, ”The ancestor said that everything is ready. May I inquire when you intend to take action?”

Fang Chen thought for a moment and replied, ”We can set off now.”

He had just reached the eighth stage of Qi Refining and had sufficient Purple Lightning Talismans in his storage ring. Together with Ji Congyun and a Longevity Qi martial artist, he shouldn’t have any problem dealing with the stone and bat demons.

Ji Lengxing’s eyes flashed with joy, and he immediately went to report back.

Before long, the mighty entourage from the Ji Family set off toward the Gui Han Region

Such a significant movement naturally couldn’t escape the notice of the emperor in the imperial palace. From above, the emperor of the Frost Water Empire silently watched the departing procession, his face revealing a faint look of concern.

”The Ji Family has joined forces with the Grand Xia Empire. It seems that even the mysterious place protected by the Ji Family for many years has been opened for Fang Chen. After this incident, the Ji family will likely come to challenge the throne. What should we do?”

The emperor stood on the top floor, and behind him stood an old eunuch. After a few moments of silence, he said slowly, ”Your Majesty, the ancestor has already passed away. Now, perhaps only the White Tiger Empire can intervene and change the current situation.”
