Warhammer Divine Throne

”There is another casting method called Quish, also known as High Magic,” Ollica continued, ”High Magic differs from Black Magic in that it simultaneously controls multiple Magic Eight Winds, harmonizing different magic winds and blending them into more refined energy and spells. The most typical example is the Great Mages in the Hos White Tower; they all start their practice with one wind of magic and work their way to full mastery. Once they can proficiently wield multiple winds of magic, they then study High Magic. The Supreme Grandmaster Tygris of the Hos Mage Council has mastered all known spells of the Magic Eight Winds, while also possessing his own unique array of High Magic, including many Great Curse Techniques.”

”Great Curse Techniques?” Laine asked, ”What is that?”

”Spells of the Ninth Ring and above are called Great Curse Techniques. Normally, under the control of the deities, spells of the Ninth Ring and above are sealed. To release a Great Curse Technique, either the caster must be of demigod strength, or the caster must gain recognition and assistance from the deities,” Ollica glanced towards the door, ”For instance, Her Highness Mogiana, her strongest spell, ’Potion Chalice Comet,’ was a gift from the Lake Fairy.”

”I see, I understand now.” Laine nodded repeatedly, indicating he completely understood.

”Apart from the High Elves, the Shilan Demon Toad also has access to the Demon Net’s backdoor opened by Ancient Saints. They can also easily use Great Curse Techniques. For example, the famed Shilan Demon Toad Lord Mazda Moody raised a mountain thousands of meters high from the plains with just one Great Curse Technique, stopping the Duruzi army from marching south,” Ollica’s cheeks were slightly red, ”Master, actually, I can also release Great Curse Techniques now. The spirit rune you engraved on my lower abdomen similarly has access to the Demon Net; Master, are you perhaps a descendant or reincarnation of some Supreme Being?”

”You have fully recovered?” Laine didn’t directly answer the dark elf’s question but instead he asked.

The Divine Chosen Champion could faintly sense that Ollica’s identity was far more complex; many magical secrets might be better known by elves, yet she seemed to know them too well. More importantly, Ollica was quite young, this dark elf was less than three hundred years old.

”No, my soul is severely damaged; currently, I cannot gather magical power on my own. My magic entirely relies on Master’s supply,” Ollica shook her head, ”If Master wishes for me to guide Miss Teresa in controlling the wind of magic, Master must frequently replenish... magic power for me.”

”Really?” Laine expressed his skepticism.

”Of course, it’s true,” the dark elf averted her gaze unnaturally, ”Without magic power, I can’t instruct Miss Teresa.”

”... Let’s go to the Prayer Room first,” Laine took hold of Ollica and led the Count and his personal maid towards the Prayer Room.

”Henry~” As the door to the Prayer Room opened, Mogiana was instructing Teresa in High Gothic Language. The female sorcerer held the textbook, earnestly trying to enunciate according to High Gothic pronunciation.

”No, no, this word shouldn’t have the ’h’ sound; in High Gothic, the ’h’ is silent in this word. It should be pronounced as ’Henry,’” Mogiana’s face showed slight impatience, the Lake God Witch tried her best to remain patient, ”In High Gothic, some letters are silent, Miss Trovik, you must break these habits; otherwise, you will be mocked at court banquets.”

”Yes...” The female sorcerer painfully studied High Gothic, aware that it was a skill she absolutely had to master, even without considering staying by Laine’s side, the opportunity to learn High Gothic was still very precious.

”Laine, you’ve come?” Mogiana noticed Laine appear, light flashed in her emerald eyes, ”Miss Trovik, that’s enough for today’s lesson, go back and review. The day after tomorrow you must write a self-introduction of no fewer than fifty words and recite it to me.”

”Yes!” The female sorcerer nodded, greeted Laine, and then left the Prayer Room with her books.

Mogiana raised her head, looking directly at Laine, ”You finally came? Laine, when will you fulfill your promise to me?”

”Now.”
