Warhammer Divine Throne

In a clearing in the forest, a group of creatures was dancing. There were roughly more than two hundred of them, with twisted bodies, beastly heads, enormous antlers, and voices cursed like a song. They were dancing, wrestling, and biting around a bonfire, their bodies resembling that of men, yet also women, but their faces, claws, and hooves were far from human.

The celebration was so noisy at this point that the Beastman Tribe was oblivious to the outside world; they never knew that the few Inferior Horned Beasts assigned to stand guard outside had been brutally massacred by the superb archery of the Wood Elf and Estelle.

In the forest clearing, many skinned corpses were displayed, some human, some animal. At the front stood a Beastman Shaman dressed in tattered clothes and wearing a skull mask. It was dancing, moving both hands and feet in prayer to the God of Darkness, making its pleas. No one knew what it was saying, but everyone knew that another battle was near.

The Beastman Shaman was still dancing, persistently pleading to the God of Chaos, but there was no response.

”Whoosh!” An arrow imbued with the Power of Starfire shot out from the shadows, slicing through the cold air, striking the Beastman Shaman’s shoulder.

”Ugh~” The Beastman Shaman wailed as the arrow pierced its shoulder. Just as it was about to pull the arrow out, three or four more arrows flew in rapid succession from the shadows, continuously hitting the Beastman Shaman, who howled loudly and struggled to get up.

A burst of musket fire erupted from the depths of the shadows, and the lead bullets of the Dwarfs shattered the Beastman Shaman’s body.

”Ene...mies, exter...minate!” After such a sudden change, the Beast King of the Beastman Warband finally reacted. It roared loudly, and the Beastmen at the celebration began to slowly respond, attempting to ready their weapons and launch a counterattack.

However, the Human Alliance Army clearly wouldn’t give the Beastmen a chance to react. A large group of human soldiers emerged from the shadows, but even faster were the crossbow arrows. A full hundred or so crossbowmen had already reloaded, raising their Dwarf Crossbows in unison with a large number of soldiers.

”Whoosh whoosh whoosh~” Dense showers of arrows first reaped through the Horned Beasts and Inferior Horned Beasts in rows. The arrows shot from the powerful Dwarf Crossbows were both accurate and fast. The first wave of responding Beastmen immediately suffered heavy casualties, with dozens dying on the spot.

”Charge...” The Beast King of the Beastmen had just called out and immediately drew the attention of the human army. Holy Grail Knight Armand pointed at the Beast King, shouting towards the Dwarf Engineer: ”The Beast King is right there!”

”Alright then! Watch us!” Dugen the Ironman the Dwarf Engineer retrieved his Dwarf Long Fire Cannon from his back, preparing to aim.

”Whoosh~” A dozen arrows laced with the Power of Starfire were faster than the Dwarf’s aim. The Beastman Beast King was hit again and again in the chest, shoulder, abdomen, thigh, wrist, enduring it at first until an arrow finally pierced its skull. It collapsed to its knees: ”Ooh ooh ooh~”

”The thing of the dwarves is simply inadequate, ha.” Wood Elf Forest Lord Orgros put down his recurve bow, mocking the slowness of the Dwarves, while the new recruits of the Wood Elves chuckled along.

”Boom~” The Beast King of the Beastman Warband was dead, but the remaining Beastmen were already gradually closing in on the Alliance Army.

”Retreat!” Hex shouted: ”Long Spear Array!”

”Yes!” The Peasant Infantry shouted in response to the Knights’ commands as all the crossbowmen retreated. Then, a swarm of Long Spear Soldiers surged forward, forming a dense Long Spear Array. All the Beastmen attempting to charge the Long Spear Array were grievously pierced by spears.

With an unfavorable start, both the Beast King and the Screaming Shaman died in battle, dealing a huge blow to the Beastmen’s morale. Their attempts to assault the Long Spear Array failed, and their morale severely wavered amid wails as they attempted to retreat.

Olivier and the Dwarf Race Leader Sven Novigrad had already led the Walking Knights and Dwarf Warriors to bypass the Beastmen from the side. The Kingdom Knights drew their Longswords: ”Charge! For the Lady!”

”For the Lady!” The Peasant Knight Corps and the soldiers’ morale soared. Many of them had followed Laine in the Knightly War and were no more afraid of these ferocious Beastmen. The Dwarfs even less so.

The combat prowess of the Knights was extraordinary; these professional soldiers held their shields and Longswords high, plunging from the rear side into the Beastmen’s military formation, engaging in fierce combat. The Dwarf Warriors wielded War Axes or Iron Hammers, forcing the Beastmen to retreat repeatedly.

The Beastmen suffered a three-pronged assault, and their morale plummeted during this cold night. These brutes quickly lost the will to fight and began trying to flee.

Sparks exploded in the heart of the Beastman army, as several Witch apprentices jointly unleashed a Fireball Technique, obliterating several leading Great Horned Beasts. The Woodland Guards of the Wood Elf constantly drew their bows and shot arrows, while the Peasant Crossbowmen and Long Spear Soldiers collectively advanced, bringing this Beastman Warband to its doom.

”Burn the bodies, clean the battlefield! Move quickly, take everything you can!” A small battle had ended, and another Beastman Warband was completely annihilated. Holy Grail Knight Armand moved among the crowd: ”Quickly now, soldiers! We must reach the Big Boulders by sunrise!”

”Yes, Lord Armand!” the Peasant soldiers responded loudly as they scavenged the battlefield, setting the Beastmen’s corpses alight. Greedy peasants searched for any likely spoils of war, knowing Beastmen, like many animals, had a liking for shiny objects. Many Peasant soldiers soon made some handsome finds, with some gathering small pouches of silver coins, grinning widely.

”Kill all the Beastmen, kill every Beastman you see, show no mercy or compassion! If you don’t want to watch these brutes enter your fields next year, killing your family and burning your homes, then kill them all!” Sergeant Bertrand shouted amid the crowd: ”Anyone allowing a Beastman to flee will be beheaded on the spot!”

”Yes, Bertrand is right; carry it out immediately!” some Knights echoed loudly.

Upon seeing some Beastman cubs, a few peasants hesitated, but hearing Bertrand’s words, they finally resolved. Several Beastman cubs still in swaddling, with fuzz and beast horns, were pierced with sharp swords and Long Spears, then set to flame.

We must not allow these brutes to ruin the hard-won beautiful life!

”Another glorious victory.” Several Kingdom Knights stood by a tree stump, discussing the next plot of action: ”We are gradually approaching the Big Boulders, Lord Angerong.”

A large map lay unfurled on the tree stump. It was apparent they were deep within Charon Forest.

”That’s good, the soldiers are in good spirits now,” said Olivier, ”and your strategies have been perfect, Lord Laine.” He claps his hands, ”Onward to victory and let justice be done!”

Angerong nodded in agreement, gazing at the map. ”The men are strong and doing honor to the Kingdom, but they may falter – determination must be sustained. Ensure the scouts remain vigilant, especially while traversing Charon Forest. We can’t afford any surprises.”

”Let us continue our march. The mighty dwarfs shall prevail!” cheered the Dwarf Race Leader as they prepared for their attack on the Green Skin Fortress behind the Big Stone Pile. The army, boosted by the promise of new riches and glory, chanted as one, ready to face whatever came next. ”A trade with the Green Skin awaits us ahead,” announced Estelle, with a determined smile.
