People often debate: which is the most spectacular temple in the Old World?

Is it the White Wolf Temple located on the cliffs of White Wolf City, occupying an entire mountain and cliff, symbolizing the eternal flame of the White Wolf God?

Is it the Justice Church Cathedral in Brunswick, where generations of Emperors of the Human Empire are buried, with a grand hall tens of meters high that can overlook the entire Imperial Capital city district?

Is it the Lake Fairy Cathedral in the Brittania Kakasong Duchy, featuring an eighty-meter-high statue of the Lady of the Lake, and stationed by the Holy Grail Knight Order?

Or is it the Dwarf Main God Glarni Temple at the Eternal Peak, which requires climbing a thousand steps to reach?

Regardless of the debates, the Sea God Cathedral located in Marinburg is definitely among them. In this largest and most prosperous port of the Old World, the Sea God’s Temple with its over sixty-meter-high golden mermaid statue wielding a trident intimidates everyone, declaring that this domain belongs to Sea God Manannan.

The Sea God Knight Order, armed with scimitars and holding tridents, protects the magnificent temple. The walls of the temple are adorned with reliefs depicting the great deeds of the Sea God, Manannan, who bestowed maritime knowledge upon humans, taught them to fish, and granted them the Sea God Compass and Sea God Mark to help them thrive and prosper.

”Unlike the normal knights, the Sea God knights fight differently. They use tridents instead of cavalry lances, scimitars rather than single-handed knight’s swords,” Laine and Veronica said as they arrived at the Ocean Church, standing outside the temple observing the busy priests and Sea God knights.

”Sea God knights often fight at sea, right~” Veronica understood: ”Scimitars and tridents are suitable for use in sea battles.”

”The Sea God knights are not weak in combat on land either. Those guarding the Sea God’s Temple are only three companies within the Knight Corps, while most Sea God knights are led by Duke Boldro Bodric de Boldro of Brittania, who is also the Grand Master of the Sea God Knight Order,” Laine explained to the witch in her ear before proceeding with her to the Sea God’s Temple.

In November, although the weather in Marinburg was not as cold as in Nord, believers came to pray and merchants and captains who did business with the church had already donned thick clothing. Guards and priests of the Ocean Church wore sea-blue robes, making it easy to distinguish between church members and believers or business visitors.

As soon as Laine appeared at the entrance of the Sea God’s Temple, a Sea God knight immediately stepped forward: ”Hello! You must be Mr. Laine? It’s an honor to meet you.”

”Hello.” Laine reached out and shook hands with the Sea God knight, and his appearance immediately attracted several Sea God knights to gather around. These knights enthusiastically approached Laine to shake hands, especially some loudly cheering and shouting that a hero had arrived, drawing a crowd of humans who cheered and applauded without stopping.

An idol indeed, Veronica watched her partner with bright eyes, knowing that his great reputation was also her asset, as long as she held onto him.

The reason is simple: the First Duke of Boldro Marcus was once the Grand Master of the Sea God Knight Order, and now Laine has achieved legendary feats like Marcus, naturally earning the favor of the Sea God knights.

”I came here regarding...” Laine briefly stated his purpose.

”No problem, I’ll take you to find the Archbishop!” The Sea God knight company commander patted his chest, his weathered, dark skin radiating a healthy glow: ”This way, Mr. Laine!”

Laine reached behind him, and the Jialan Witch immediately wrapped her lace-gloved hand around his arm, walking into the church together.

The Ocean Church opened the main doors to welcome Laine’s arrival, with a regional bishop personally meeting him. Numerous civilians and believers surrounded Laine’s figure in constant cheering, even after the main gates of the temple closed in everyone’s view, the outside noise took a while to die down.

Inside the temple was a splendid display, with a dome made of glass reflecting colorful light, pools everywhere, and the whispers of believers audible all around. On the temple’s top, multiple waterfalls cascaded down without an apparent source, with the seawater pools continuously flowing in a beautiful cycle.

Archbishop Odrich, upon learning Laine’s intent, immediately directed the temple’s guards to fetch scrolls. This elderly Archbishop, with almost completely white hair and a face full of wrinkles, signaled Laine and Veronica to sit down: ”Hero from Nord, and witch from Jialan, please sit, no rush.”

”Grateful for the Ocean Church’s assistance,” Laine and Veronica sat down during the reception, with their attire adorned with various bottles, while Odrich, donned in a robe with Sea God’s divine power, gestured for the attendants to serve green tea and snacks. The snacks were divided into eight small boxes containing fruits, cakes, nuts, and candies.

The financial strength of the Ocean Church was evident.

”I rarely see green tea,” Laine didn’t mind, and since Odrich had it all brought out, enjoying it with sincerity was the greatest respect.

”Mr. Laine, if you like it, take two boxes with you when you leave. It’s a specialty from Zhendan,” Archbishop Odrich’s aged face broke into a broad smile.
