Warhammer Divine Throne

PS. There are two updates today, with another one in the evening.

The entire Marinburg has only the Amber Avenue that can enjoy tranquility, while other places are forever in a state of noise and crowding, whether it is early morning, noon, evening, or the middle of the night and dawn. The entire city is in a pathological state of activity.

The streets of the city are always crowded.

Marinburg is composed of several major districts, which can be roughly divided into the port dock area, the temple university (wealthy) district, the citizen district, the elf enclave, and the canal (poor) district.

Then, due to Marinburg’s ultra-high land prices, an awkward situation arises.

Only the Ocean Church and Wealth Church have strong influence in this city, so the temple is established in the wealthy district. Even the other major churches that have the most financial power and influence can’t afford the ultra-high land prices in the wealthy district, so they set up their temples in the citizen and poor districts.

The streets of the wealthy district are clean and tidy, the nobles spend lavishly to lay foundations with huge stones and then pave the roads to ensure their activity areas are high and solid enough. But it’s different in the citizen district, where living garbage piles up everywhere in the streets, every corner is filled with residences, shops, and warehouses, with buildings constantly being illegally expanded and dug down, hiding all kinds of dangers, and even some underground tunnels have been dug into the sea and below the warning water level.

”The scariest is the canal district, where it’s said that you must carry an umbrella when walking. Otherwise, no one knows when sewage from upstairs might suddenly pour down and drench an unfortunate passerby.” Said Veronica with a smile, linking arms with Laine after changing into a silk long dress. Today, her pretty face was full of charm.

”Yes, that’s very Marinburg.” Laine nodded, stopping with Veronica: ”We’ve reached the Saintess Order.”

The Saintess Order is the church organization of the Lake Fairy, but its personnel composition and organization are very mysterious. Seeing Laine coming, the leading Saintess dressed in a white ceremonial robe nodded and opened the temple door: ”You, the Divine Favored of the Lady, have the privilege to enter the temple.”

For some reason, the appearance of the Saintess responsible here was not pretty, with very hard, masculine facial features.

”Then what about her?” Laine pointed to the witch beside him.

”Is she your companion?”

”Yes.”

”Then come in together.”

The process of handing over Bireg’s head was very simple. The Lake Fairy’s statue flashed, indicating her acknowledgment, and then the head of the Chaos Champion was deemed useless. The Saintess threw the head into the fire to burn to ashes, which did not surprise Laine, as Brittania itself did not have a fascination with skulls, something related to the personal preference of the Lake Fairy.

However, standing amidst the white statues of the temple, Veronica always felt something was off.

The witch constantly felt that the Lake Fairy’s statue was staring at her with a cold and disdainful gaze when she wasn’t paying attention.

Kneeling before the statue of the Lake Fairy, Laine silently prayed: ”Lady, is there anything you need from me?”

”Do your own thing first, my Divine Chosen. You will stay in this city for a while, as for what comes next, I have arranged it.” The voice of the Lake Fairy echoed in Laine’s heart, clearly not intending, or liking, to appear in this place at this time.

”So when might I have the honor to hear your guidance?” Laine wondered silently, having many questions to ask the Goddess.

”Hehe~ An interesting foreigner, it’s my first time encountering a knight hoping for my arrival.” The Lake Fairy responded to Laine with a soft laugh: ”Unfortunately, due to certain restrictions, I cannot walk in the Prime Material World for long unless...”

”Unless?”

”Unless you provide me with energy.”

......

When Laine came out from the Saintess Order with Veronica, his face still bore a peculiar expression.

Veronica held his hand, her brunette locks draped over Laine’s arm: ”I regret going in with you. I could feel that the Lady of the Lake was not friendly to me.”

”She couldn’t possibly watch indifferently at a woman appearing beside her Divine Chosen Champion, especially when you’re a Caster and you have my scent all over you.” Laine squeezed Veronica’s small hand, indicating that they should discuss this at home later, and take care of other things first.

Veronica nodded, squeezing tightly on the back of Laine’s hand to show her trust in him. She would not delve into this matter any further; if Laine wanted to talk, she’d listen, and if he didn’t, she wouldn’t mind.

Unlike Teresa, Veronica, who climbed up from the ranks of wizard apprentices, was more understanding, wise, and independent.

After completing this matter, the two returned to the Temple University District. On the wide streets, Laine noticed wizards from the Wizard Alliance leading their apprentices, walking down the street, looking at shops one by one, purchasing the alchemical materials they needed. Laine remarked: ”The training method of wizards is pretty much the same, mainly mentorship.”

In Marinburg, wizards are not as rare as in Nord; you can usually spot one or two after walking a while.

”No, it’s not the same.” Surprisingly, Veronica shook her head decisively: ”It appears the same on the surface, but in reality, it’s entirely different. This is something Trovik can’t tell you because she has not experienced it.”
