Warhammer Divine Throne

Veronica’s beautiful almond eyes completely ignored Teresa’s presence. The woman simply took out a parchment scroll stamped with a seal from her bosom and casually tossed it to the female sorcerer: ”Here, take it. This is your recall order, you can go back.”

After speaking, Veronica looked at Laine ”lovingly”: ”Laine~ I miss you so much.”

”What exactly are you trying to do???” Laine couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable, knowing that the woman in front of him was definitely pretending.

”Laine, let’s go stroll around the streets, there are some new goods you might want to see,” Veronica raised her head and, holding Laine’s arm, said: ”Sometimes you encounter rare treasures that can be bought at a very cheap price.”

Every sentence Veronica said made Teresa’s face pale a little bit more. By the time she had finished speaking, her anger had become uncontrollable. The female sorcerer stood in front of Veronica: ”Enough talking, let’s settle who’s superior.”

”Our Jialan Little Princess wants to make a move against me? Of course, since Elder Aurora favors you, come on then, let me see what progress you’ve made after so long, drifting idly with Laine.” Compared to the female sorcerer, the Jialan Witch didn’t even need a Magic Staff. Bright sparks lit up on Veronica’s fingertips, her spellcasting speed was faster than Teresa’s.

Laine could feel massive Magic Power and Spiritual Power converging on the two Jialan Female Members, a foreboding feeling in his gut. Sure enough, they began to chant spells in succession.

”Dragon Breath Skill!” Though Veronica started chanting later, she was the first to complete her spell. The Witch raised her left hand towards Teresa, and the burning flames formed into the shape of a Fire Dragon, tearing through the air as they charged towards Teresa.

”Ice Burst Skill!” Teresa also completed her spell, and a massive storm composed of hoarfrost and snow surged forth.

The magic duel between the two Jialan Female Members made all passersby on the street fear that they would be caught in the crossfire, retreating to the side while curiously observing the real-time battle of the Casters.

At that moment, Laine moved.

The White Wolf Knight flashed into the battlefield, standing alone in the midst of the two spells, then spreading his arms wide.

”Oh! No!” Teresa was scared out of her wits by Laine’s move.

”Hmm?” Veronica, on the other hand, was different. Her eyes brimmed with interest, wanting to see what this man was capable of.

The red Fire Dragon was gripped by Laine’s hand, its neck twisted off its original path under his immense strength, and tossed forcefully into the sky.

Then, ignoring the slight burns on his palm, the man quickly turned to deal with the incoming Ice Burst Skill, fully deploying his Spiritual Shield to counteract it, and shot white lightning from his hand to shatter the explosive-laden Ice Storm.

He’s become stronger again... Watching Laine single-handedly block the two Fifth-Ring Spells, Veronica’s eyes lit up, thinking it’s for the best; the stronger he gets, the more it benefits my future plans.

”Enough, you two.” After ensuring the spells caused no harm, Laine finally put away his carefree expression, his face turning indifferent: ”If you enjoy this kind of thing, go back to Celestial Vault Castle for relic exploration. I can handle the task below by myself.”

”Ladies, do you need me to ask you to leave?” At the end of his speech, Laine’s tone was filled with annoyance, and both women instinctively shook their heads.

Just as Laine’s voice fell, the light of a teleportation spell suddenly appeared alongside the street. Soon, a figure in a black robe emerged from the teleportation array, his voice filled with anger and authority: ”Who is using destructive spells within the city? We have issued a decree banning the use of destructive spells anywhere in the city except in the Gladiatorial Arena! Please adhere to the spellcasting conventions! Otherwise, elimination on the spot!”

After speaking, the black-robed man raised his head and identified the figures of the two Casters: ”So it’s the two from Jialan, Lady Trovik? Lady Bernadotte? Hasn’t Margarita taught you the spellcasting conventions?”

The spellcasting conventions are agreements that all Casters must abide by. Despite their power and possession of Magic Power, generally exempt from secular rules, they still have regulations to follow, one of the most important being the prohibition against indiscriminate use of destructive spells in human settlements.

Seeing the newcomer, both women were startled, and only then did they realize this place was Marinburg. Veronica was the first to walk to Laine’s side, first holding Laine’s hand, then apologizing to the black-robed man: ”Sorry, Master Eliot, it was my oversight, I apologize to you.”

”I feel very sorry, Master Eliot, it was my mistake,” Teresa hurriedly apologized as well.

”As a favor to Mr. Laine, let this be the last time. I do wish Margarita would take some care with you Members. This isn’t the first incident.” Master Eliot removed his hood, revealing the refined middle-aged appearance of a man in his forties. He nodded towards Laine: ”Thank you for controlling the situation, Mr. Laine.”

”No, it was my duty.” Laine sighed: ”I should be the one apologizing.”

”I have other matters, Mr. Laine, feel free to do as you like. To the two Jialan Female Members, should this happen again, I will include you in Marinburg’s list of unwelcome persons, and personally send a letter to Margarita to demand an explanation.” The Great Wizard Eliot teleported away once more.

Laine shook off Veronica’s small hand, closing his eyes in displeasure: ”Had enough chaos?”

The two women did not speak.

After a moment, Veronica spoke up: ”I’ve arranged the teleportation array for you, Trovik, you can return to Celestial Vault Castle by yourself now, I will handle matters here.”

”But… I intended to…” The female sorcerer wanted to say something more, feeling a bit reluctant since Teresa had initially planned to leave after attending the banquet tomorrow night. This way, they could stay at Amber Avenue tonight, aiming to leave a good impression on Laine…

”Please hurry up, Trovik, the teleportation array is already prepared. Clearly, the council’s summoning you back signifies something urgent, and I am here. What are you still worried about?” Veronica’s sweet voice rang loudly, yet there was an indescribable oddity, especially in her gaze, as if urging Teresa to hurry up and leave.

The three of them walked into the mansion, which was bustling inside; many female sorcerers and female witch apprentices were walking back and forth. Upon seeing Veronica in her silk gown step in, a beautiful apprentice immediately greeted her: ”Member, there’s news for you.”

”Catherine, is it urgent?” Veronica’s pretty eyebrows furrowed slightly upon hearing news awaited her.

”No rush, it’s a notification from the council.” The apprentice wore the standard red witch gown and robe of the Jialan Council, revealing her somewhat immature face and golden hair. The girl appeared to be about fifteen or sixteen, with the Jialan Flower badge displaying only three white petals, indicating she was an ordinary High-Tier apprentice.

This was also a budding beauty, as it is commonplace that the Jialan Council prefers to recruit pretty girls.

”Then I’ll check it later. What about the teleportation array I instructed to be set up?” Veronica walked with an elegant rhythm, her high heels clicking in a rhythmic beat on the floor.

”It has long been ready, Member, it can be activated at any time.” The apprentice cautiously followed behind the trio.

Opening the door to a room on the second floor, a prepared teleportation array was already glowing. Veronica raised her hand, and the jingling sound of her jewelry echoed: ”Please, Trovik, you can leave now.”

”Could you step out for a moment, Veronica? I have some parting words I wish to say to Laine alone.” Teresa was coerced by Veronica into an untenable position. The female sorcerer also realized it wasn’t suitable to delay further, indicating her wish to say a few farewell words to Laine with her impending departure already settled.

Veronica rolled her eyes, shot Laine a questioning look, and upon his nod, the Witch let out a ”hmph,” and turned to leave the room.

After closing the door, Veronica did not go far; she stood at the doorway, listening to the sounds inside while opening the message from the Jialan Council.

”Veronica: The council requires you to do your utmost to win over your partner, with all your strength.

——Margarita.”
