Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 201: Chapter 199: Dislocation

”Then, Brother Zhang, why do you still dare to give a 1?”

”Because I haven’t been sued yet.” Zhang Zhe shrugged. ”If the starting score was a 5, and the stream was full of 8s and 9s every day, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between anyone.”

”Now you see why you could also get a 5? In reality, you’re a big fat zero.”

”Yeah, and at the time I just thought that Matchmaker had a people-pleaser personality.”

”Alright, now, introduce yourself from the beginning.”

”Bro, make sure you mention any good qualities you have. With your current looks, it’s not going to be easy to find a partner.”

”I know...” The young man sighed and laid out his basic information.

He was 25 years old, 170 cm tall, and weighed 65 kg. He was an engineer with a monthly income of around 15,000, plus a double salary at year’s end.

His family was from another province but had settled in Dongguan. His parents were in the wholesale beverage business. His family’s financial situation was roughly an ”A7.7,” which really just meant his parents owned a house and a car, plus had about a million in savings.

He had a master’s degree and had been working for less than a year. In his first 25 years of life, his relationship experience was zero.

This complete lack of dating experience was quite common in the engineering circles Zhang Zhe knew. Most of them were from STEM fields and had average looks.

”Brother Zhang, my situation now is that when other girls see my photo, they don’t even want to meet me.”

”I tell them I’m 25, and they say I’m lying about my age. I show them my ID, and they say my age has been faked.”

”You don’t play soccer, so why would you fake your age?” Zhang Zhe comforted the guy. ”You don’t need to bother with women like that. It’s a good thing they’re filtered out.”

”But then again, if I had a daughter, and she started dating you—assuming her family situation was similar to yours—I’d definitely have to ask her what on earth she saw in you.”

”If everyone has a six-stat chart, you’re already at a 0 for appearance.”

”Unless you get plastic surgery.”

”But if you were willing to get plastic surgery, you probably would have done it long ago.”

”Right, I can’t handle that kind of suffering.” The young man agreed with Zhang Zhe. ”All I can do now is try to keep myself looking clean.”

”With a problem like my face shape, I heard they have to shave the bone. Isn’t that just like torture? I asked about it, but after thinking it over, I decided against it.”

”As for the acne scars on my face, only time will heal them. I can’t stand getting injections in my face either.”

”Yeah, I get it.” Zhang Zhe nodded sympathetically. Plastic surgery required a strong desire to back it up, which this young man clearly lacked.

As long as he kept himself looking clean and tidy, most people wouldn’t look down on him. He was surrounded by adults, especially professionals, who had a strong tolerance for ”biodiversity,” so to speak.

”Your looks are... touching, but let’s be honest, it can’t be so bad that not a single person is willing to meet you, right?”

Zhang Zhe thought the guy was exaggerating a bit:

”From what I know, there are some girls in Shencheng City who will go on a date as long as the guy is willing to meet offline. They’ll go, and then it’s just eat, eat, eat, and shop, shop, shop.”

[How does the streamer know so much?]

[Hahaha, stop laughing at Brother Zhang. The same would happen to you if you went on a blind date.]

[This is actually a compliance test. If you take the bait, the woman will start stringing you along, making you think you have a chance.]

[What if he’s super ugly?]

[So what if he’s ugly? The man might be ugly, but his money isn’t.]

Zhang Zhe actually admired some women for their willingness to endure any hardship just to take advantage of some small gains.

”Bro, you’ve never run into this type of woman?”

”If you haven’t, I can only assume you haven’t been aggressive enough with blind dates. You just haven’t met enough people.”

”No, I really haven’t,” the young man replied. ”It might be because I have one requirement: the girl must have no previous relationship experience.”

”?” Zhang Zhe was shocked. ”You just told the Matchmaker this requirement directly?”

”Yeah.”

”The Matchmaker said my requirement was pretty normal. She told me that the chances of finding a girl who’s a ’blank slate’ in the blind date market are actually higher than if I tried to find one through regular dating.”

”She also said that a lot of guys in Shencheng City have the same requirement.”

”Was she lying to me?”

”The Matchmaker wasn’t lying to you.” Zhang Zhe nodded in agreement. ”If you try online dating or hitting on girls on the street, your chances of meeting a blank slate are definitely not as high as with blind dates.”

”And it’s true that there are many high-net-worth individuals in Shencheng City who require their partners to have little relationship experience.”

[There are lots of girls who’ve never been in a relationship. Blind dates are their only way to get married.]

[But these kinds of girls usually have pretty obvious flaws, right? Like they’re overweight or ugly.]

[You definitely can’t be picky about looks. Pretty girls have guys chasing them since middle school.]

[This bro getting married is all down to luck. If his luck is bad, he’ll be single forever.]

”So is my requirement reasonable?” the young man said with some hesitation. ”I can lower my standards in other areas.”

”Education, family background... I can compromise on those.”

”A girl with a vocational degree, from a rural family, even one with a younger brother—I can accept all that.”

”But I really can’t accept a girl with a rich relationship history. It’s too much of a minefield.”

”Why would you lower your standards on those things?” Zhang Zhe frowned. ”You’ve never been in a relationship yourself, so wanting a girl who’s also a blank slate is a perfectly normal request.”

”No need to go looking for a Voldemort from the countryside.”

”Then why can’t I find anyone?” the young man asked, confused. ”I’ve lowered my standards, and I still can’t find anyone.”

”That’s because you’re lowering the wrong standards. If you just relaxed your age requirement to 35 and were willing to accept a ’leftover woman’ with a stable government job in a Guangdong Province township, or a female teacher, I guarantee you’d get a match instantly.”

”I’m not really telling you to go find a young stepmom, I’m just giving an example.”

Zhang Zhe said earnestly:

”You’re 25 right now. The women you’re meeting for blind dates, who are your age or a year or two younger, they’re not in a hurry to get married at all. Especially the ones with no relationship experience—they might even still be dreaming of some grand romance.”

”For girls at this stage, your stable job and good family background are far less attractive than just being easy on the eyes.”

”Just think about it yourself. When you’re looking for a partner now, don’t you also hope for more than just a simple marriage? You’d ideally want to develop some feelings too, right?”

”Having feelings would definitely be for the best.” The young man was quick on the uptake and understood Zhang Zhe’s point. ”So my direction was wrong?”

”I should be using asymmetrical competition. Either I go for women who are desperate to get married, or I go to schools and find younger girls who aren’t so obsessed with looks and like older ’uncle’ types.”

”Right. Or you could just focus on making money and come back when you’re 30.” Zhang Zhe grinned mischievously.

’Only when you start blind dating at 30 do you get to see the real blind-dating world.’

”Go find one of those cranky Old Chu Women when I’m 30, you mean?” the young man said irritably.

”Hahaha, not necessarily. What if there’s an 18-year-old college girl out there who likes guys a full zodiac cycle older than her?”

”I had a colleague like that before. He was 30, and he married a girl who had just started college by becoming her top donor on a livestream.”

”Anyway, for now, you should just focus on sprucing yourself up. Get a decent haircut, put together a good outfit, and then use your life experience to meet younger girls.”

”Stop looking for peers in the blind date market. You need to learn how to use asymmetrical competition.”

[Wouldn’t that make him Xia Shu’s uncle?]

[It’s fine. Even if it’s not him, there will be other uncles.]

[A moment of silence for the male university students near Shencheng City.]

[Can’t help being ugly. I’m ugly myself, so I can only find a hotter younger guy.]

[By doing this, he’s clearing the landmines for those male university students. He’s doing a good deed!]
