Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 203: Chapter 201: Gender Swap

”But if you go the normal route of marriage, don’t the kids always take the man’s last name? I consulted a Matchmaker, and that’s what they told me.”

”How many Matchmakers did you consult?”

”Just one.”

”Well, this is the second Matchmaker you’ve found, and I, Brother Zhang, am telling you that in a normal marriage, the child’s last name is negotiable.”

”In today’s dating market, everything is negotiable. If you want the child to have your last name, then don’t ask for a bride price, just offer a larger dowry.”

”The issue of a last name really isn’t that big a deal.”

”If all else fails, just discuss it with the man. Have two children, and have one of them take your family’s name.”

Zhang Zhe didn’t really understand why this woman was so worried.

’If there’s really no other way, why not just treat it like a business negotiation? The pressure would still be less than trying to recruit a live-in son-in-law.’

”I understand what you mean.”

”But where I’m from, it seems a little difficult.”

”Then just find a guy with the same last name as you. That way, who would know whose name the child took?” Zhang Zhe said with a shrug.

”That... would narrow down my options quite a bit, wouldn’t it? My last name is pretty rare in my area.”

”Then look in the nearby counties and cities.”

”There aren’t any in the nearby counties and cities either.”

”?” Zhang Zhe looked confused. ”Sis, you don’t seem all that bright.”

”What’s your last name that’s so special? Tell me where you are, and I’ll look up just how many guys in your area share your name.”

[The host is going to make her angry by talking like that]

[Don’t be so serious, man. She just wants to find a live-in son-in-law. Just go along with what she says.]

[This woman is definitely headstrong. She probably expects everyone to spoil her all the time.]

[Feels like she’s the type of person who forms an opinion and then has to force everyone around her to accept it.]

”Or what, do you just want me to flatter you a bit? Tell you that your qualifications are great and you’ll easily find a live-in son-in-law?”

”Brother Zhang, that’s not what I meant.” The woman realized she was showing her true colors. Seeing the screen full of comments, she quickly changed her tune. ”Of course I believe what you’re saying.”

”I’m just not confident in myself.”

”Alright.” Zhang Zhe could tell the woman didn’t really mean it. He figured that before coming on the stream, she probably thought her idea of recruiting a live-in son-in-law was a stroke of genius.

”If you’re really that set on recruiting a live-in son-in-law, I’ll teach you a method.”

”What method?” the woman asked hurriedly.

”Heh.” Zhang Zhe gave a helpless laugh. ’She really can’t take any good advice.’ ”You’re still young. First, just try dating.”

”While you’re dating, take the initiative to cover all of your boyfriend’s daily expenses.”

”First, this will show you if you even have the financial means.”

”If he’s going to be a live-in husband, you covering his living expenses is a basic requirement. If you can’t even do that, then stop dreaming.”

”Second, this will also test the man’s willingness to be a kept man.”

”Generally speaking, if a man can spend your money with a clear conscience, put up with your temper, and still be willing to marry you...”

”Then you have a chance when you bring up the topic of him becoming a live-in husband.”

”If you can’t convince him to be a live-in husband, then as a fallback, he generally won’t refuse your request for the child to have your last name.”

[That’s actually true. It’s the same principle as a rich woman keeping a sugar baby.]

[With a temper that stubborn, she can only find an effeminate guy.]

[Brother Zhang, are you actually giving her real advice?]

[Sis, hurry up and try it. In another two years, you’ll be old, and any moocher you find then definitely won’t marry you.]

”Understood. Thank you, Brother Zhang.”

”I’ll go try it out then. I’ll come back and find you later.”

”Sure. Next time, just place an order directly.” Zhang Zhe was being blunt. If she came back, she would have to pay for a consultation.

’Otherwise, I really don’t want to deal with this kind of person.’

The process of communicating with this woman really made him feel that a headstrong woman like her was indeed unpopular in the dating market.

This was actually true for both men and women.

They can never accept unpleasant truths; you can only go along with their ideas, or the conversation can’t continue.

The difference was that there were far more soft, sweet girls than gentle-natured men. Therefore, as long as a headstrong man had good qualifications, finding a partner wasn’t difficult.

”Why have there been so many people with reversed gender roles consulting me lately?”

”Have ’masculine’ women become that common now?”

Zhang Zhe couldn’t remember how many times a female caller had said she was rather headstrong and had a hard time finding a partner.

[The hen crows at dawn. You think that’s a good thing?]

[It’s just that this type of woman likes to voice her opinions online. Most normal people are part of the silent majority.]

[I bet they all watch stand-up comedy.]

[Because the generation of only children has grown up.]

Zhang Zhe felt the explanations in the comments were reasonable. The main reason was that the primary demographic in the dating market had changed. The post-90s generation was now going on matchmaking dates more and more, and even the post-00s generation was starting.

Their mindsets were completely different from the older generation’s.

Zhang Zhe thought about it. Back when he was at the matchmaking corners, he’d often hear those old uncles and aunties say:

”I really don’t know what the young people these days are thinking.”

Good thing he was from the post-90s generation. He knew.

Perhaps the heavens heard Zhang Zhe’s inner thoughts, because the next woman to connect was born in ’85.

”Sis, you were born in ’85?”

Zhang Zhe was stunned for a moment when he heard that. Born in ’85... that meant she was already 40 years old.

A person of this age, yet she spoke in such a cutesy, affected way.

’She’s been married once already, so why doesn’t she sound like an adult?’

Zhang Zhe found it physically off-putting.

Of course, as a streamer, he would do his best to overcome it.

”You’re 40 years old and you’ve already had one failed marriage. Why do you still want to get married?”

”Can I talk about that reason a little later?” the woman said, her voice feigning youthfulness. ”I want to talk about my situation first.”

”Okay, continue.”

”Mhm, although I’m a little bit old, I take very good care of myself. I weigh just under 110 pounds.”

”What about your height?”

”My height without shoes is 5’1”, but I have a very well-proportioned figure.”

”At your height, usually no one’s paying attention to whether you’re well-proportioned or not.”

Zhang Zhe scratched his forehead. ’This is going to be difficult. I don’t even feel like putting in the effort to take notes on this kind of woman.’

Because he could boldly predict that she was here to make a wish.

”What about your family’s financial situation? Annual income and fixed assets?”

”My annual income is around 100,000, but I have a house in Shenghai that’s fully paid off, no mortgage.”

”What’s the approximate value of the house?”

”Around 3 million.”

”...” Although Zhang Zhe didn’t follow Shenghai’s real estate prices, a 3-million-yuan house in Shanghai... ’You might actually be more comfortable renting, right?’

In the current market, it was questionable whether her house could even sell for 2.5 million if she tried to cash out.

Still, for an ordinary 40-year-old, a net worth of 3 million was quite good. Many people couldn’t even save 1 million in their entire lifetime.

”What’s your family background? Your parents are retired, I assume?”

”Yes, they’re just ordinary retired workers. Their income is only enough to support themselves in retirement. I’m an only daughter, but they don’t have much of an inheritance to leave me.”

”Then your biggest advantage right now is that house.”

Zhang Zhe drew a circle around the word ”house” on his notes. If it were a 40-year-old man, he could indeed use a house to lure a young woman from out of town into marrying him.

But with the genders swapped, the woman’s income wasn’t enough.

”By the way, do you have any children?”

”And what was the reason for your divorce?”
