Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 206: Chapter 204: Why Don’t You Find a Woman to Be Your Husband?

”I think I understand what you’re getting at, streamer, but to be honest, I’m not sure myself what kind of spiritual connection I’m looking for in a partner.”

”That’s because my hobbies are all over the place.”

”I like a little bit of everything.”

”How all over the place? Tell me, let’s hear it.” Zhang Zhe was intrigued. His gut told him there was something special about this girl.

”You mentioned reading earlier, streamer. I’ve been reading recently, too. I’m on *In Search of Lost Time* by Marcel Proust.”

”To read it, I’m currently learning French. I’ve been taking classes for half a month now.”

”?” Zhang Zhe found this behavior a bit familiar. It had that distinct ”bourgeois-bohemian” vibe. ”Have you studied any other languages besides French?”

”I’ve also studied Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian.”

”I picked them up while reading, because a lot of the translations aren’t accurate.”

”666, what a flex. I’m taking notes.”

”I’m guessing you’ve just dabbled in them, but you’re not fluent, right?”

”Right. I just study things whenever I get interested.”

[Isn’t this the textbook image of a ”princess”? The rich kind, though.]

[This is the definition of pseudo-refined.]

[The ’book’ she reads the most is probably Xiaohongshu.]

[Studying so many different things, no wonder her brain is a mess.]

”Besides languages and literature, do you have any other hobbies?”

”I’m learning piano;”

”And I’m also learning to dance;”

”Lately, I’ve also been thinking about looking into wingsuit flying.”

”...” Zhang Zhe now had a complete picture of this girl’s situation.

’She must be one of those rich second-generation kids whose only daily task is to find new ways to have fun.’

’The only difference between her type and the common ”princesses” on Xiaohongshu is that she pursues a more spiritual refinement, not a material one.’

’If you were to gender-swap her, she’d be like Lan Zhanfei or Tong Jincheng.’

’Their pursuits just head in different directions.’

’But one thing is the same: they all have a hard time finding a marriage partner who meets their standards.’

”Sister, maybe you should just stop going on blind dates.”

”Unless they’re only after your money, no guy in the matchmaking market is going to be interested in you.”

Zhang Zhe was being even more blunt than before.

This time, it wasn’t that the woman couldn’t find a desirable partner; it was that the men on blind dates wouldn’t be interested in her.

”Why? Am I that bad?”

”From a man’s perspective, yes, you’re pretty bad.”

”Could you elaborate?” the girl asked, her tone pleading. ”Some of the guys I’ve gone on blind dates with, we’d have four or five meals together, and then they’d just mysteriously ghost me.”

”The feedback I got from them was: at first glance, I seem like perfect wife material, but the more they get to know me, the more they find me boring and uninteresting.”

”But my female friends, they all think I’m very interesting and cute, and they’re super happy to be friends with me.”

”So I really don’t get those men.”

[Then just marry a woman, what’s with all this whining?]

[You actually believe the hype your friends feed you? You’re a lost cause.]

[They’re not marrying you, so they don’t have to be responsible for what they say.]

[This girl really isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. Not suited for marriage.]

”You and your friends...” Zhang Zhe looked hesitant. ”When you all go out, are you the one who often pays for everything?”

”No, we always go Dutch.”

”Then it can only be because the evaluation criteria are different.”

”Your friends see you from a friend’s perspective, but a man considering marriage has to see you from a wife’s perspective.”

”Is there a difference?” The girl was very confused. ”Shouldn’t a good husband and wife be friends first?”

”That’s not how it works.” Zhang Zhe shook his head.

”It’s actually quite simple. When men in our country look for a wife, setting aside financial status, they’re just looking to see if you’re ’womanly’.”

”If you’re good-looking, have distinct feminine features, or are gentle as water, then you fit the traditional definition of a woman, and it’s naturally easy to find a partner.”

”But someone like you, with all sorts of hobbies, just playing all day, finding new ways to have fun, and maybe saying weird things from time to time...”

”In the eyes of a man who doesn’t understand you, you’re just a child.”

”Taking care of a child long-term is exhausting enough, let alone marrying one.”

[That’s so true. Her friends are playing with a girl who has the mind of a child, of course they’re happy.]

[She should find a guy who loves to have fun as much as she does, so they can have fun together.]

[A guy who loves to have fun definitely wouldn’t be getting married this early.]

[She’s the type of girl you see on Moments who’s always partying like crazy. Any normal guy would see her as a huge red flag.]

”I think what you’re saying is wrong, streamer.”

Suddenly, another woman’s voice came from the caller’s end:

”I’m her best friend. I’d like to say a few words on her behalf.”

”She’s not a good fit for the current marriage market because everyone is looking for a ’virtuous wife and good mother,’ but that’s a commoner’s mindset.”

”I think truly exceptional people, or let’s say rich people, should be looking for a soulmate.”

”So? What’s your point? Do you think the kind of guy you’re talking about is going to show up at a blind date?”

Zhang Zhe spread his hands, asking with a bewildered expression:

”You go to a fast-food joint and order a Boston lobster. The owner says they don’t have it, and you complain the restaurant’s quality is too low.”

”What, are you going to help them get a Michelin star?”

”Is it really that hard for you people to just admit you’re not suited for the blind-dating market? Every single one of you acts like it’s a death sentence.”

Zhang Zhe curled his lip in disgust.

’With this best friend popping up, you could basically declare that the caller won’t have to think about marriage for the rest of her life.’

’Then again, that might not be such a bad thing for her. As long as her family’s financial situation stays this good, there’s nothing wrong with having fun like this for her whole life.’

’Besides, she’s planning to take up wingsuit flying. How long ’a whole life’ is for her is still an open question.’

[Where did this best friend even come from?]

[I can already picture this girl’s daily life. It’s probably just a few young women partying from morning till night.]

[To put it bluntly, she’s the rich version of an e-girl.]

[Brother Zhang has such a good temper. If it were me, I would’ve flamed that best friend.]

”Okay, I get it.” The woman on screen nodded with a serious expression. ”Thank you, Brother Zhang.”

”Can I take a clip of this to show my parents?”

”Your parents aren’t going to track me down in real life, are they?” Zhang Zhe asked with feigned concern.

”They probably won’t do that.”

”As long as they won’t, feel free. Clips are made to be shared.”

”It’s normal for parents to rush you to get married.” Zhang Zhe, guessing what the girl planned to do with the clip, tried to console her. ”The older generation, it’s like they all have a biological clock inside them. When it hits a certain time, they feel like you have to do a certain thing.”

”Since you’re almost 30 now, they’d feel uncomfortable if they *weren’t* nagging you to get married.”

”After you get married, they’ll start nagging you to have kids.”

”If they don’t nag you, they feel bad. They can’t even sleep at night.”

”As for you, just listen. What you actually do still has to depend on your own situation.”
