Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 208: Chapter 206: Poor Prospects

”Miss.” Once Zhang Zhe learned she had a tattoo, he stopped calling her ”sis.” ”What’s your family’s approximate financial situation?”

”Are you A9?”

”No, no, not that much.”

”A8.5?”

”Not that either. Actually, my dad works for my maternal grandfather. It’s just that it’s inconvenient for my grandfather to be the public face of the business.”

”And the money he makes doesn’t all go to our family.”

”So even though my dad has a high income, our total assets aren’t that high.”

”Oh, I get it. Your dad’s a ’white glove’.”

Zhang Zhe understood immediately.

This would explain why her father earns tens of millions a year, yet the family wasn’t even A8.5. The money had to be split.

As for why they only got rich in recent years, it was simple: her maternal grandparents were probably about to retire.

If they didn’t make money now, they’d lose their chance once they retired.

[Anyone from the Disciplinary Committee in the stream? Look into this.]

[There are too many people like this. It’s impossible to manage them all.]

[Don’t you get it? They aren’t taking the money directly. Her dad opened a company to launder it slowly. It’s hard to investigate.]

[Only after her grandfather retires safely will the money be truly secure.]

Zhang Zhe and the viewers in the live stream were all too familiar with situations like this girl’s.

In the Matchmaking Live Stream Room, this girl’s situation would only lower her rating. But with the double whammy of having studied abroad and having a tattoo, it hardly mattered at this point.

In the end, she’d have to marry down.

”Miss, my advice is, in your situation, you should just find someone you actually like.”

”You have too many red flags. An average A7 family like mine wouldn’t even consider you. But I think some ambitious Yanjing drifters, especially guys looking to climb a social class through marriage, would ignore all that. If you give them the slightest hint, they’ll pounce.”

”Brother Zhang, are you talking about those ’phoenix men’?”

”You could say that. But with your family’s wealth, you can aim a little higher than a ’phoenix man’ from a rural village. Look for a Yanjing drifter from a third- or fourth-tier city.”

”You should be able to find one easily.”

[The Yanjing drifters are in for a treat.]

[You’re telling me I worked my ass off to establish myself in Yanjing just to take on someone else’s leftovers?]

[Bro, if you won’t take her, I will. Marry her, and you’ll be the next white glove.]

[I don’t think her parents would let her marry a commoner.]

”But...” A conflicted look appeared on the female caller’s face. ”My parents told me to find someone from a family of equal social standing, or someone who’s well-connected even if his family doesn’t have money.”

”They said? What good does that do?” Zhang Zhe scoffed, feeling that the woman’s parents weren’t very bright.

’No wonder they had to rely on the girl’s mother’s family resources to get rich.’

’Without the old man’s help, they’d probably just be an ordinary family in Yanjing.’

”Whoever makes the demand should be the one to solve the problem. If they want a son-in-law of equal standing, then let them find one for you.”

”Otherwise, you’re supposed to do it all on your own?”

”To be honest, you’re average-looking, and a skinny stick at eighty-eight pounds. No matter how much makeup you wear, your ceiling in the dating world won’t be high.”

Before joining the stream, this girl might have had some unrealistic fantasies.

But ever since she mentioned her tattoo, the discriminatory bullet comments hadn’t stopped, and each one was particularly piercing.

[Studied abroad plus a tattoo... imagine how wild she must have been over there.]

[People like her should just stay abroad. All foreigners have tattoos.]

[If she showed me what the tattoo looks like, I bet I could find her videos on foreign websites.]

[A finance girl who studied abroad and has a tattoo... Honestly, Pan Jinlian might be more traditional than her.]

The girl clearly lost her energy as she spoke. After listening to Zhang Zhe’s advice, she said ”thank you” several times and sheepishly disconnected.

Only then did Zhang Zhe get a chance to look closely at the bullet comments.

”Are you guys always this vicious?”

”Wait, why are people defending her? That just means the attacks aren’t strong enough. Double down, please.”

”This streamer doesn’t discriminate against girls with tattoos. If you had ’Serve the Country with Utmost Loyalty’ tattooed on you, I really couldn’t say anything, or else it would be politically incorrect.”

”I’m just plain scared.”

”Can’t help it. I was bullied by a school tyrant with tattoos back in the day, so now I avoid anyone with them.”

”Heard last year that old bro died of skin cancer at 32. Sigh, life is fickle.”

Zhang Zhe couldn’t help but laugh as he watched some people in the comments getting triggered.

’The truth is, everyone has their own internal scale.’

Zhang Zhe once had a colleague who tattooed his daughter’s and wife’s names on his arm. No one thought anything of it; it’s not like he was trying to become a civil servant, anyway.

Seeing that the ”righteous” side was consistently winning in the comments, Zhang Zhe was quite satisfied with the quality of his current audience.

Even though this was Xiaohongshu, there wasn’t much disagreement on this mainstream aesthetic. Most people’s opinions were relatively aligned.

...

”Good evening, streamer.”

”I’d like to ask for your advice on a relationship matter, which is also related to marriage. Is that okay?”

”Sure, on the condition that your boyfriend knows you’re calling in,” Zhang Zhe chuckled. This girl had a gentle voice, like a sweet young thing, but she didn’t sound very bright.

’What ”relationship advice”? She just wants to break up and is looking for a third party to help weigh the pros and cons.’

Zhang Zhe didn’t like getting involved in things like this. It was a thankless job.

But this girl was smart; she placed an order directly.

And it was for the 99-yuan offline consultation.

”Sir, I’m not ’looking for a horse while riding a donkey,’ like the comments are saying.”

”It’s just that my parents disapprove of our marriage right now, and I’m feeling conflicted. If my boyfriend is really as great as I think, then I’ll have the confidence to keep fighting for us.”

”So please, just help me.”

”Sisters, should we help with this one?” Zhang Zhe asked the audience for their opinion.

[Of course, we should help... help the guy, that is.]

[Go ahead and ask, Brother Zhang. I’ve already found her boyfriend’s account and am ready to DM him.]

[I gotta admit, the doxxing threat from the comments is real.]

[Exactly. Think of it as helping her boyfriend dodge a bullet.]

Seeing the comments were actually trying to doxx her, Zhang Zhe decided to take the consultation.

He’d just consider it a good deed.

”The audience says it’s okay, so go ahead and tell me.”

”What’s the situation with you and your boyfriend?”

”My boyfriend and I were high school classmates. We got together after we started college, and all these years, he’s been exceptionally good to me.”

”But in terms of family background, mine is better than his. He’s in the construction industry right now, and my father doesn’t think he has much of a future. He hopes I’ll find someone ’in the system’.”

”Basically, he just doesn’t want us to be together.”

”That’s pretty much the situation. Sir, what do you think?”

”Someone ’in the system’ has a future?” Zhang Zhe was baffled. ”Is your dad some high-ranking leader within the system who plans to groom your future husband as his successor?”

”No, my dad runs his own business.”

”Then where’s the future in being ’in the system’?” Zhang Zhe had a confused-black-guy-meme expression on his face. ”How many people in the system would dare say they have a promising future? And if they really did have a great future, why would they end up on the open matchmaking market?”

”Sis, what you’re saying makes me think your dad is a bit of an idiot.”

”Why don’t you think again? What exactly is it about your boyfriend that he’s dissatisfied with?”
