The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 1664: Chapter 674: Foreshadowing

Zhou Wang glanced at his phone, and the person who messaged him was ”Miss Yang”.

Although he remembered clearly that he hadn’t mentioned his birthday to her in recent conversations, Zhou Wang wasn’t surprised that she knew.

...After all, some basic information about him could be easily found online, and remembering his birthday is not difficult for someone paying attention.

”What gift do you want?”

Miss Yang’s second message quickly followed.

Normally, Zhou Wang would reply like this: ”Anything goes?”

Then Miss Yang would probably laugh, ”Anything goes.”

The two would engage in a flirtatious chat, ending with someone’s itch hardly scratched... Ever since the trip to Paris, his relationship with Miss Yang had been like this.

More than friendship, not quite romance.

Zhou Wang knew that perhaps with just one opportunity to be alone together, sparks could fly, as Miss Yang, in terms of age and experience, would naturally be more insightful than someone like Miss Di.

Even though she’s a superstar with a halo, she is also a mature woman, and this is evident from their two-day chat records, with occasionally wolfish and wild words that Zhou Wang found hard to handle.

But Zhou Wang was too busy, and he was deliberately restraining himself, so their relationship remained at this ambiguous stage.

Just like now, Zhou Wang was not in the mood to chat with Miss Yang; he simply followed her message into WhatsApp and unsurprisingly saw ”99+” unread messages and ”10+” red alerts in Moments.

When an average person is approaching their birthday without having announced it widely, it usually goes like this—

On the birthday itself, if they have a good partner, the partner would surely send birthday wishes punctually, and if the man was sending the wishes, it might be accompanied by a transfer ranging from 520, 1314 to 8888.

Next, perhaps some close friends would remember to send a greeting too, which counts as a mental surprise.

But this situation is common among a woman’s girlfriends. As for men... even the tightest friendships might go months without contact, let alone for something like a ”birthday”.

Furthermore, as one grows older, if no invitation is sent out in advance, birthdays would still be lonely, and many people simply stop celebrating past 25... For the young, contemplating celebrations and getting excited is typical.

Zhou Wang certainly fell into the young group, but personally, he wasn’t eager to celebrate this birthday.

However, it wasn’t because he prematurely adopted an ”elderly” mindset, but because he knew full well such a day would only bring endless trouble... one of the repercussions of being ”fickle”.

Thus, last night before eleven, after enjoying Yun Rou and Yun Lan’s four-hand Thai massage, Zhou Wang took melatonin and went to bed early, setting his phone on do-not-disturb mode, sleeping through til morning.

His decision proved immensely wise.

At this moment, glancing at it, most unread messages originated around that time.

Especially at precisely midnight, besides various timely birthday wishes, there were indeed more than one ”fearless” woman who directly called him...

Among these fearless women were Xia Xiwei, Ding Yi, Jin Zhixiu, Su Yajing... and even Jiang Mo.

Seeing his senior calling him with a video chat surprised Zhou Wang slightly.

...This wasn’t like her usual noncompetitive nature.

However, upon inspecting the messages she sent, Zhou Wang noticed the video call was around twelve-thirty—

His senior hadn’t avoided sending birthday wishes first; rather, she intentionally waited half an hour, clearly wanting to bypass overlapping calls.

Noticing this detail, Zhou Wang couldn’t help but lightly sigh: ”Senior... sometimes you’re so endearing in your simplicity.”

Then Su Yajing’s video call invitation was quite interesting; it wasn’t directly from her but was a group video call from their little group. In Zhou Wang’s absence, the girls seemed to chat for over half an hour.

Zhou Wang could vaguely sense Su Yajing’s subtle intentions... she worried calling Zhou Wang impulsively might upset him, so she pulled in Shen Yutong and others, making it harder for Zhou Wang to be displeased.

Still as clever as ever.

As for Xia Xiwei and Ding Yi’s calls, they were entirely expected by Zhou Wang.

In a certain way, both women had similar personalities; they appear bright and harmless, yet inherently domineering—akin to an ”Empress” persona in some historical harem narratives.

Thus, their calls came exactly at 12:00 a.m. without deviation.

Regarding Jin Zhixiu, Zhou Wang wasn’t surprised either... because during their interactions, Zhou Wang didn’t hide his affection for her, so in Jin Zhixiu’s view, they were genuinely in a romantic relationship.

Of course, as an internationally weathered entertainment star, Jin Zhixiu wasn’t naive enough to believe Zhou Wang was only dating her.
