The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 1269: Chapter 486: Gale

In large-scale evening banquet events, there’s often a concept called ”service ratio.”

To ensure the guests’ experience, the ratio of ”waitstaff to guests” is typically controlled at ”1:8,” and it should never exceed ”1:12” at the minimum.

This means ensuring at least one dedicated staff member for every eight guests. If there is only one waitstaff for more than twelve guests, the guests’ experience will be greatly diminished.

In the usual banquet scenes we commonly attend, such as weddings, the number of waitstaff often doesn’t meet this ratio. In most star-rated hotels, except for when dishes are served, one waitstaff is responsible for a specific area and has to handle several tables alone.

More often, even in these situations, you might look up and not find a waitstaff anywhere...

Zhou Wang’s event today is a high-end banquet, so such low-level situations are naturally impossible.

In the banquet hall alone, the ”service ratio” reached an exaggerated ”1:5,” meaning for every five guests, there is a young lady in a high-slit cheongsam, perfectly presentable in both appearance and manners, in charge.

These young ladies are third-or fourth-year students majoring in aircrew or hotel management, uniformly recruited by a third-party company, with a payment of up to 2000 yuan for the night, enough to make these inexperienced girls compete fiercely for the opportunity.

Besides the front hall etiquette ladies acting as advanced waitstaff, a large number of dish transmitters, kitchen teams, bartenders, cleaners, and technical staff responsible for sound and lighting are also needed... The total number of service personnel might even exceed the number of guests to support the operation of this banquet.

Guo Nansheng, pushing a dining cart towards the kitchen, was just another small cog in the operation.

When he and Zhou Wang proactively offered to help at the banquet, Zhou Wang initially had some reservations, mainly considering Guo Nansheng’s feelings.

After all, he was once a member of the ”guest class,” and it’s fair to say he likely knew most of the affluent people from Magic City present, but now he became a server. This psychological gap isn’t something everyone can accept...

”Brother Dog, you don’t need to have any psychological burden, I’m not doing it for free. Moreover, if you don’t mind, I’ll be responsible for the banquet’s nuts.”

Guo Nansheng responded quite calmly, just smiling as he spoke.

Zhou Wang thought it over and found it made sense. Besides, he always wanted to help Guo Nansheng, but it was clear Guo Nansheng didn’t want to accept Zhou Wang’s financial aid directly. Offering him an opportunity to earn money might make him feel more at ease.

So Zhou Wang agreed, assigning Guo Nansheng to the kitchen area, responsible for fresh fruit supply; this way, he wouldn’t have to face the guests outside and also achieve the purpose of earning money.

Zhou Wang offered him a five-figure payment, plus the profit margin of fresh fruit procurement, enough for him to earn a small profit, certainly better than setting up a stall...

The banquet was held on the 56th floor, with the temporary kitchen and dish transmission area set up on the temporarily vacant 55th floor.

Guo Nansheng, pushing the dining cart, politely nodded to the two security personnel on elevator duty and even used his metal lighter to help them light their cigarettes before taking the service elevator to the 55th floor.

Compared to the 56th floor, where soft music flowed, the logistical area on the 55th floor appeared busy and chaotic.

Of course, Guo Nansheng seemed much more at ease as he moved through, greeting a few chefs he had temporarily met with a smile, seemingly aimlessly pushing the dining cart around before crossing the logistical area and arriving at the other side of the 55th floor, an unused empty office area.

This area only had some vacant desks and chairs, but traces of renovation had already started appearing on the wall not far away, faintly revealing the words ”Wangzhou Group” and the ”Crown and Rose” Logo.

Guo Nansheng stood fixedly staring at those words for a while, then closed the door behind him, scanned around to confirm no one else was there, and approached the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the bustling lights of Magic City at night.

He played with the metal lighter in his hand, his movements carrying a subtly cautious meaning for some reason.

After standing quietly for about five or six minutes, Guo Nansheng’s pocket suddenly vibrated.

After glancing back again to confirm, he pulled out a black rectangular phone from his pocket and pressed the answer button.

The call connected, and neither side spoke for a moment, only the faint sound of wind noise and breathing was heard from the other end.

After about ten seconds of silence, a mature woman’s light laughter came from the other end of the line, ”Mr. Nan, you’re always like this; if I don’t speak first, you won’t either... aren’t you being overly cautious? I’ve told you many times before, this is the most technically advanced satellite phone available now, the chance of being tapped is zero.”

”In this world, nothing never happens...”

Guo Nansheng calmly replied, ”And, stop calling me ’Mr. Nan,’ now I’m just an ordinary person.”

”You only lost an unordinary fortune, that doesn’t make your soul ordinary... otherwise, we wouldn’t be having this conversation now, would we?”

The woman, with growing interest, began a philosophical discussion with Guo Nansheng.
