Chapter 200: Chapter 136 “Perfect” Potential of Jiang Qingkui_2

“Yeah, let her come up. Oh, and ask if she’s had breakfast. If not, could you please have Sister Mei make another serving?”

Zhou Wang advised while pondering whether he should hire a dedicated chef.

But he felt the necessity wasn’t obvious. Not to mention living in Spring Eye, he didn’t have to worry about his meals with seven restaurants nearby offering delivery service. Mainly, it was a special situation recently, so he was staying home a bit more.

After a brief internal debate, Zhou Wang decided against it and stopped Xu Wenqian, who was about to leave.

“By the way, Qianqian, did you receive your salary and bonus?”

“I did… It’s already in my account.”

Xu Wenqian smiled embarrassingly, then asked, “Boss, have you seriously not considered changing the payment date? No company normally pays on the first of the month…”

“You mentioned that’s what’s normal, but we’re going to do the opposite. Remember to adjust the Dianwang Club as well, make it all on the first!”

Zhou Wang said with a smile.

They say there’s a lot of thought behind which day to pay wages. Paying later might make employees more hesitant to quit…

But Zhou Wang couldn’t be bothered with such schemes, given he didn’t rely on squeezing employees to earn money.

“Also, give Sister Mei a bonus of ten thousand, take it from the public account, and I’ll reimburse it later.”

Zhou Wang added finally.

Chen Mei’s salary wasn’t Zhou Wang’s responsibility, but he had noticed her hard work and dedication lately, so this money was a personal incentive from him to Chen Mei.

“Ah, Mr. Zhou, thank you so much!”

Chen Mei was pleasantly surprised and didn’t feign refusal, giving Zhou Wang a grateful glance.

What mattered more to her was that this represented Zhou Wang’s acknowledgment of her.

After Xu Wenqian left, Zhou Wang received an unexpected phone call.

“Mr. Zhao?”

Zhou Wang answered the call, greeting the caller.

“Haha, Brother Zhou, am I disturbing you?”

The authentic Lu City accent came through the phone, and the caller was none other than Zhao Shusheng, his middle-aged fellow countryman, with whom he had dealt with at Linlan International that day.

Although Zhou Wang had briefly inquired about Zhao Shusheng afterward, the findings were quite surprising.

This man didn’t just own an agricultural company; he was also involved in construction and bathhouse industries, quite famous in Lu City, and the publicly acknowledged wealthiest man in Sanhe Town.

Even though this status wouldn’t mean much in Ming City, his reputation and status were unquestionable in the smaller town.

“If I answered the phone, it means there’s no disturbance… Do you have any reason for your call?”

Zhou Wang replied with a smile.

“Buddy, I wanted to tell you, Zhenyuan E-commerce refunded us…”

“Oh?” Zhou Wang was taken aback, “How much did they refund?”

“Eighty percent. Though it’s not a full refund, the financial manager showed us their actual cost, which was close to thirty percent, making me feel a bit guilty.”

Zhao Shusheng laughed, “Although sales didn’t meet expectations, we did sell some items, and a refund of eighty percent actually makes us profit a bit…”

“As long as it’s resolved smoothly, have all the farmers been refunded?” Zhou Wang asked.

“Of course, even if they didn’t refund, I would’ve covered it myself… Throughout my life, I’ve weathered many storms, but I’ve never shortchanged my fellow villagers even a penny. I refuse to make money against my conscience!”

“You’re generous!” Zhou Wang laughed.

“Don’t, buddy, I don’t dare accept your praise… This time it’s thanks to you. Though the money isn’t much to me, it’s the principle!”

“Oh, what does this have to do with me?”

“Ah, buddy, don’t act ignorant. Mr. Yang personally called me to apologize, and I could clearly sense why in his words.”

Zhao Shusheng laughed, “I owe you one, and I must thank you properly next time we meet!”

Zhou Wang chuckled, not denying it, and simply advised, “Next time you get into unfamiliar business collaborations, you should pay closer attention, maybe consult someone knowledgeable, right?”

“I thought it was a big company from Ming City, so they’d be reliable, just underestimated my understanding of these new things…”

Zhao Shusheng laughed with regret.

After chatting a bit more, they agreed to meet next time in Ming City, and Zhou Wang hung up the call, feeling inexplicably better.

It felt quite nice to be able to help some weaker groups when he had the capability.

Reflecting on it, Zhou Wang sent a message to Yang Zhen, mentioning that someone would later discuss amending the lease agreement with him.

Since the other party had admitted fault, there was no need to dwell on it. Even if he didn’t care about Yang Zhen, he still had to consider Zhang Zhiyuan and others.

As for Yang Zhen’s previous offer of double rent, Zhou Wang rejected it. He didn’t need to profit from taking advantage of others; handling business matters properly was sufficient.

Having sorted all these matters, Xu Wenqian brought Jiang Qingkui up.

Zhou Wang didn’t bother changing clothes and came to the garden in his pajamas.

Standing in the garden, Jiang Qingkui, possibly considering starting her job today, wore a black short blazer instead of a long windbreaker, pairing it with a black camisole, and a grey national ink-style half skirt below.

The neckline of the camisole was slightly low, revealing a hint of a deep cleavage.

Previously, her figure was always concealed, but today Zhou Wang could finally glimpse a bit of its entirety.

He had to admit, it was quite impressive.
