Chapter 167: Chapter 127: Zhou Wang’s Chips_2

“Qingkui, aren’t you being impulsive? You’ve earned a doctorate from Harvard Law School, you yourself know better than anyone the value of that. I didn’t even criticize you for returning home abruptly, and now you’re telling me you want to abandon your previous profession and venture into another industry from scratch, to start a new business?”

Wang Hongying asked incredulously.

“Teacher Wang, it’s precisely because I’ve studied law for so many years that I want to try something different.”

Jiang Qingkui explained calmly, “I couldn’t get used to the food abroad, and I couldn’t sleep well. When I went overseas, I told my teacher that I’d eventually return.”

“Qingkui, if you’re worried about the differences in legal systems between countries, that’s really not a problem. International cases are quite popular now; with your skills, obtaining practice licenses in both countries should be a breeze, right?”

Wang Hongying frowned, “Well, even if you don’t want to be a lawyer, what about teaching? There are plenty of places you could choose from, right?”

“My alma mater and Hong Kong University have both offered me positions, but… I declined them all.”

Jiang Qingkui paused, meeting Wang Hongying’s incredulous gaze, “Teacher Wang, I’m just purely tired of it. Can you understand?”

“You…”

Wang Hongying, seemingly quite exasperated by Jiang Qingkui, took a few deep breaths and said, “No wonder your teacher called before, asking me to persuade you if I had the chance. Qingkui, some decisions shouldn’t be made recklessly…”

“Teacher Wang, it’s not a spur-of-the-moment idea. I’ve had this thought for a long time. In recent years abroad, not only did I complete a doctorate in law, but I also earned bachelor’s degrees in business management, e-commerce, and accounting.”

Jiang Qingkui said softly.

Seeing Jiang Qingkui’s firm stance, Wang Hongying felt a bit resigned, “Even so, you still underestimate how simple some things are…”

At this moment, Wang Hongying’s daughter came over with tea, temporarily interrupting their conversation.

Zhou Wang, watching from the side, was somewhat surprised. He hadn’t expected that this neighbor, Sister Qingkui, returned with such an idea…

Starting a business?

Having learned a significant lesson in this area, Zhou Wang could only shake his head.

Actually, he thought Professor Wang was entirely correct. As a highly educated person specializing in law, you already have a starting point that countless people can only look up to. Not leveraging your own advantages and instead pondering about dabbling in another industry seems a bit irrational—

It once again validated Zhou Wang’s theory.

Tsk, however, her idea did seem to match her online name quite well.

What she wants to kill is probably this mockingbird of herself…

Zhou Wang shook his head and took a moment to glance at Wang Hongying’s daughter. Hmm, excluding beauty filters, there was quite a difference between her in person and on the app, though it wasn’t a big issue; her singing videos were still quite interesting.

Wang Hongying’s daughter seemed a bit absent-minded, leaving the tea and quickly making an excuse to leave.

“What’s with you, child? Won’t you sit and chat with your sister Qingkui?” Wang Hongying called out, dissatisfied.

“Oh, Mom, I have errands right now, something important!”

With a hint of excitement lingering in her eyes, Gao Xiaoyin smiled mysteriously at Wang Hongying, “I’ll tell you about it later; you just take care of the senior students for now!”

After saying this, Gao Xiaoyin ran off, leaving Wang Hongying no other choice but to shake her head helplessly, “This kid…”

Wang Hongying turned again to Jiang Qingkui, “Qingkui, let’s talk about this later. The startup fund isn’t as simple as you think, and furthermore, in principle, the fund only provides support to those intending to pursue the legal profession…”

Hearing Wang Hongying’s subtly dismissive words, Jiang Qingkui’s eyes grew a bit dim, but she couldn’t say much more and merely nodded her head.

At this moment, Wang Hongying turned her attention to Jiang Mo.

“Jiang Mo, what brings you to see me today?”

“Professor Wang, Jiang Mo might be feeling a bit shy, so let me speak for her.”

Zhou Wang stepped in to take over the conversation.

Surprised, Wang Hongying nodded thoughtfully.

“It’s like this, Jiang Mo’s father is currently facing some trouble, and as you’re an expert in this field, she’d like to get some advice from you…”

Zhou Wang spoke delicately while observing Wang Hongying’s expression.

“I already know what this is about.”

Sure enough, with little change in expression, Wang Hongying interrupted Zhou Wang before he could continue.

At this moment, Zhou Wang also confirmed his vague suspicion.

Yes, as expected, Wang Hongying was already aware of the situation in Jiang Mo’s family.

Typically, if a classmate didn’t deliberately pay attention, they might not associate it with this aspect, but Wang Hongying was different.

Since Jiang Mo was her student, it meant she could access Jiang Mo’s personal files. Added to the fact that the Jiang Yunfei case stirred quite a commotion, as an expert in law, it was impossible for Wang Hongying not to have followed the case…

Maybe Jiang Mo herself had felt this, which is why she couldn’t bring herself to speak up.

Since Wang Hongying had long been aware but never mentioned it to Jiang Mo, to some extent, this already represented a certain stance…

The reason didn’t matter much; when Zhou Wang considered himself fortunate for coming along today, knowing that Jiang Mo would likely not manage on her own, and with his moderate assistance, there might not be a guaranteed effect, but at least the hope increased considerably.

“Jiang Mo, I’ve actually been meaning to find an opportunity to talk to you.”

Facing Jiang Mo’s expectant gaze, Wang Hongying pondered as she spoke, “Your father’s matter… is very difficult.”
