The driver also quickly parked the car by the roadside. With so many people being mobilized, besides Zhou Wang’s Bentley Continental, a Mercedes-Benz G-Class and an Audi A8L also arrived…

“Mr. Zhou…”

Xu Wenqian approached Zhou Wang with some confusion. Although it was she who had booked this swimming pool for him, she really had no clue what Zhou Wang was planning to do.

The others weren’t too clear either; they simply followed Zhou Wang’s instructions.

They were all a bit nervous at first. After all, the whole setup gave off a vibe like they were filming a crime movie.

But now it seemed like nothing had happened.

Only Chen Mei looked at Zhou Wang with a peculiar expression. Because she was guarding the nearest place, she had seen with her own eyes a tall, beautiful girl enter the changing room, and Zhou Wang had been waiting inside in advance…

Silent night, a lone man and woman, public place; it was one of those classic scenes from Japanese films, in a changing room…

When these elements came together, it was hard for Chen Mei not to let her imagination run wild.

Playing this extravagantly?

But if it was just for a thrill, wasn’t this a bit too much… like catching a thief!

“Let’s go back.”

Zhou Wang didn’t offer any explanation; he just gave the order.

But just before getting in the car, Zhou Wang suddenly thought of something. He glanced at Xu Wenqian, “By the way, where’s your electric bike?”

“Uh, it’s in the trunk of the Mercedes.”

“Take it out and use it to take me back. It should fit two people, right?”

“Huh?”

“I want to feel the wind.”

Feeling a bit unsettled, Zhou Wang simply smiled.

Damn it, the system’s Bentley Continental GT wasn’t a convertible…

He really wanted to feel the wind.

…

It was already close to 10 PM, and there weren’t many cars on the road.

In the open green lane, Xu Wenqian was riding the electric bike at a leisurely pace, while Zhou Wang sat behind her, gently holding onto her slender waist.

“You’re pretty good at this…”

Feeling there wasn’t much danger, Zhou Wang relaxed and held Xu Wenqian tightly, gently resting his head on her shoulder.

The scent of mint mingled with vanilla, Xu Wenqian’s unique fragrance drifted into Zhou Wang’s nose. Enjoying the cool evening breeze, Zhou Wang finally relaxed completely, even feeling a bit drowsy.

“I used to ride this to work every day for two or three years. No matter how bad I was at it, I learned eventually.”

Her cheeks slightly red, Xu Wenqian replied before hesitantly asking, “Mr. Zhou, is something bothering you?”

“I guess you could say that…”

Zhou Wang didn’t deny it, his dull voice coming from her neck, making Xu Wenqian feel a bit ticklish.

“I just suddenly realized that I can’t see myself clearly anymore. I mean, I used to have that kind of desire, but when the time came, it felt so dull…”

Zhou Wang recalled that the day he first met Cui Min’er, he couldn’t help but have all sorts of devilish thoughts in his mind.

Today, he could have given in to his desires too.

But somehow, in the end, he gave up.

He didn’t know if this change in himself was good or bad, so after experiencing the tremendous changes brought on by the system, he was unexpectedly feeling a bit lost…

Xu Wenqian couldn’t understand what Zhou Wang was talking about, but after thinking for a bit, she said:

“Um… if you can’t see yourself clearly, there’s no need to get tangled up about it. How many people truly understand themselves? Aren’t people just like that, with complex thoughts? As long as you live simply, that’s enough!”

“Wow, you’re quite philosophical. I didn’t see that coming, Qianqian.” Zhou Wang laughed.

“I just figured a bit of it out recently…”

After Xu Wenqian finished speaking, she silently added in her heart, “because of you.”

Zhou Wang didn’t say anything else, merely letting his weight rest on Xu Wenqian.

As Xu Wenqian thought Zhou Wang had fallen asleep, Zhou Wang suddenly said, “By the way, Qianqian, prepare another employment contract, modeled after yours. Leave the terms blank for now… within a few days, you’ll have a new colleague joining.”

“Huh?”

Caught off guard, Xu Wenqian instinctively asked, “What position?”

“Personal secretary.”

“…”

Xu Wenqian opened her mouth, seeming somewhat lost. After a moment, she bit her lip and asked, “Then… can I still be your assistant?”

“Of course, otherwise, what would you do?”

Zhou Wang lifted his head and gave her a strange look.

“Oh.”

Only then did Xu Wenqian relax a bit, unable to resist asking, “Then, can I be your assistant forever?”

“What kind of wild questions are these? Unless you don’t want the job yourself, you’ll always be my assistant… And if you were to be promoted, it’d be along the route of an advanced secretary. Once there’s more to manage, I’ll assign you a few assistants.”

Zhou Wang casually replied.

“Mm-hmm, got it. I’ll do my best, Mr. Zhou!”

Xu Wenqian responded, a cheerful smile spreading on her face.

“Mm…”

Zhou Wang murmured before becoming silent.

After a while, Xu Wenqian glanced to the side and realized Zhou Wang had indeed fallen asleep, slumped on her shoulder. His hands, which had been mischievously moving over her waist and legs, finally rested peacefully…

Riding the bike, Xu Wenqian couldn’t help but hum a song softly.

Under the dim city lights, the bike path with lush greenery in front of her was straight and quiet, seemingly endless.

But if… it really never ended, that would be nice.

Xu Wenqian thought.
