Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

The skill star core burned ever brighter, its heat intensifying as it spun at incredible speed.

Flames began to rise from its surface.

Lin Moyu had no attention left for Antares. His gaze was completely fixed on the skill star core.

“The second star is about to be born.” Antares said, having entered Lin Moyu’s soul to witness the spectacle alongside him.

“What you call soul skills is known in the great world as law arts.”

“And when the fusion rate reaches 100% and skill star cores transform into stars, they are called star-grade law arts.”

“Those that have yet to become star-grade law arts are called planet-grade law arts.”

“Law arts can carry laws, and different grades of law arts can bear laws of different amounts. Star-grade law arts can hold several times—even dozens of times—the amount of law than planet-grade law arts.”

“Truly magnificent… what a beautiful star.”

“Legend says the birth of a star is accompanied by something miraculous.

“Even powerhouses may witness this only a handful of times in their lives. Treasure it.”

His words sounded like they were meant for Lin Moyu, yet also like he was speaking to himself.

Lin Moyu committed every word to memory, though he gave no reply. His entire focus was consumed by the star about to be born.

Boom!

The skill star core reached its limit and erupted.

It transformed into a mass of blazing fire that rose within the soul world.

A burst of light surged, sweeping across the entire soul world, giving rise to subtle changes.

“This is…”

At the heart of the eruption, Lin Moyu saw something extraordinary, something he had never witnessed before.

At the very center of the blinding light was a tiny black dot.

The black dot seemed connected to somewhere else.

Lin Moyu’s attention had already been fixed on the star. After listening to Antares’s remarks, he remained on high alert.

Now, as he looked closer, he noticed something unusual.

The tiny black dot was like a bottomless abyss: mysterious, unfathomable, and strangely captivating.

But it appeared without warning and vanished just as quickly.

In less than half a second, it was gone, like a fleeting flash.

By the time Lin Moyu regained his composure, the skill star core had transformed into a star, suspended high within his soul world and radiating searing light.

Compared to the star formed by Deathwings, this one seemed solitary, hanging alone in the void.

Yet its isolation did nothing to diminish its grandeur. On the contrary, it felt more refined, fundamentally different from the planet-grade soul skills.

At once, Lin Moyu sensed his soul world expand and his soul rank rise with it.

He had taken a small step on the path from level 93 toward level 94.

As long as he took a few more steps like this, he would be able to reach level 94.

With an advance in soul rank, his combat power surged across the board.

“Did you see anything just now?” Antares’s voice rang out.

“I saw a black dot. It felt mysterious. But it disappeared too quickly for me to get a clear look.”

Antares chuckled, “Remember that black dot.”

“What is it? Is it important?”

Lin Moyu could instinctively feel the black dot was mysterious, as if it held a powerful pull, yet he had no idea what lay within it.

“It’s important, important to everyone. But for now, remembering it is enough. You’re not yet qualified to touch it.” Antares said solemnly, clearly unwilling to elaborate further.

Lin Moyu understood and didn’t press further.

Now came the moment he had been waiting for. He had successfully converted an ordinary skill into a soul skill, a perfect star-grade law art at that.

Filled with excitement, he checked the skill.

[Bone Fang (100% fusion rate): releases Bone Fangs to attack. Their number and power are determined by the amount of spirit force consumed.]

…That was it?

Lin Moyu blinked, his expression turning odd.

Antares noticed immediately, “What’s wrong?”

Lin Moyu replied, “There’s something strange about this skill.”

“How so? Stop stalling; get to the point.” Antares looked at him with disdain.

Lin Moyu hesitated, “I’ll just show you.”

Law art: Bone Fangs!

He pointed skyward and activated the skill.

A cluster of white light ignited at his fingertip, then burst into tens of thousands of razor-sharp Bone Fangs shooting into the sky.

They moved like lightning, crossing tens of thousands of meters in a blink, almost as if they had teleported.

Had it not been for Antares’s extraordinary vision, he might have missed them entirely.

Only after they had vanished did the thunderous roar reach their ears.

Lin Moyu’s spirit force exceeded 2.6 million. With the Monarch Scepter’s buff, it surpassed 3 million.

During the demonstration, he had used one-third of his spirit force—1 million spirit force.

Such a cost was staggering, far beyond even the most powerful forbidden spells available to Mages.

Spirit force was the outward expression of soul force. To wield such an immense amount required an extremely formidable soul.

Yet for Lin Moyu, it posed no difficulty at all.

The moment it was consumed, the spirit force was instantly replenished, as though it had never been used.

His Comprehensive Link talent operated silently in the background.

Watching Lin Moyu’s demonstration, Antares frowned. Something felt off.

Before he could speak, Lin Moyu cast the skill again.

This time, lightning crackled at his fingertip.

He invoked the law of lightning, the only law he could currently wield.

Spending 1 million spirit force again, a cluster of white light formed at his fingertip. It rose into the sky, wrapped in lightning, then exploded with a thunderous roar, illuminating dozens of kilometers like daylight.

For a moment, it resembled a miniature white sun suspended in the heavens before slowly fading.

Failure…

Antares froze, “It failed?”

Lin Moyu nodded, “It can’t bear law.”

“That’s impossible.” Antares shook his head in disbelief.

In all his years, he had never seen a perfect star-grade law art incapable of bearing law.

Lin Moyu gave a bitter smile, “I think I know why.”

When the star had illuminated his soul earlier, something had felt wrong.

Now he was certain—the greater world rune was the cause.

“The great world rune?” Antares asked, doubtful.

Lin Moyu nodded, “Most likely. I sensed something off back then.”

Before the greater world rune, even Antares was at a loss.

Last time, the greater world rune had failed to stop Lin Moyu from awakening his skills. This time, it had changed its approach, denying a perfect star-grade law art the ability to carry law.

In doing so, it reduced it to something weaker than even a planet-grade law art with a low fusion rate.

It was frustrating.

Antares wanted to offer comfort, but no words came.

Lin Moyu exhaled, the bitterness fading as resolve took its place, “Fortune and misfortune come hand in hand. Who knows how this will turn out?”

“The greater world rune isn’t all-powerful. There’s surely a way around it.”

“And even without law, this skill still is rather powerful.”

As he spoke, he continued firing Bone Fangs into the sky as if venting his frustration.

Antares watched silently, his gaze subtly changing, “Continue. Don’t stop.”
