Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Naturally, any new skill required testing.

Lin Moyu had always enjoyed experimentation, and under his influence, Antares had developed a similar fondness.

Antares didn’t even mind lowering himself to serve as the test subject.

In fact, if Antares hadn’t volunteered, Lin Moyu would have felt too embarrassed to ask. As things stood, the arrangement was perfect.

The experiment was divided into two tests.

Test one: a Bone Dragon would launch a breath attack on Antares.

Breath attack was the most common and practical offensive skill of the Dragons. It blanketed an area with indiscriminate damage.

When the Bone Dragon unleashed its Death Breath, a gray mist spread across roughly 20 square meters. The mist was thick and lingering, refusing to dissipate.

Antares stood calmly within the mist, carefully sensing its power. An attack at this level naturally posed no threat to him.

“The breath contains two forms of power—fire and corrosion—and neither is weak.”

“There’s also a faint trace of law within it. Just a tiny bit, almost negligible, but it still enhances the skill’s overall power.”

“In terms of pure offensive force, it’s roughly equivalent to level 88. That’s close to God-level, but not quite there yet.”

“However, because of that bit of law, anyone struck by the breath attack will likely suffer lingering damage afterward.”

Antares’s judgment was naturally accurate.

Lin Moyu then summoned a Lich General, who then cast buffs on the Bone Dragon.

[Legion Enhancement (level 8): increases all attributes by 80%, increases attack speed by 80%, increases casting speed by 80%, increases physical defense by 80%, increases elemental defense by 80%, increases control resistance by 80%]

“Let’s try again.”

With the buffs applied, the Bone Dragon’s attributes surged. However, due to the Lin Moyu’s restrictions, its total attributes were capped at 9,99 million, unable to break the 10-million threshold.

Each of the four attributes reached just over 2.49 million, stopping just short of 2.5 million, perfectly balanced across the board.

The Bone Dragon exhaled a breath attack once more.

After sensing the attack, Antares nodded, “The power has increased, but not by much.”

“It’s extremely close to God-level now. Still, compared to true God-level, it’s still a little lacking.”

Lin Moyu nodded in agreement. This limitation came from law of heaven and earth, something he couldn’t change.

Only by evolving Summon Bone Dragon into a soul skill might it eventually break free of those restrictions.

But Lin Moyu wasn’t worried. As his level increased, the skill would naturally grow stronger.

Turning it into a soul skill, a law art, was only a matter of time.

With the first test complete, Lin Moyu now had a clear understanding of the Bone Dragon’s combat ability.

Next came the second skill.

Lin Moyu said, “I need a corpse.”

For Antares, such a request was trivial.

The surrounding mist stirred, and seconds later several fresh corpses fell from the sky, landing in front of Lin Moyu.

Antares had been thorough. Some were weaker monsters from the upper layer.

Two originated from the lower layer, and judging from their auras, they exceeded level 70.

There was also a massive level 80-plus ordinary boss among them.

It was the perfect assortment for testing.

Lin Moyu fixed his gaze on the corpses and activated his second skill.

Skill: Raise Dead.

A cluster of silver-white undead flames appeared before him, then burst apart, scattering flames over the corpses and setting them on fire.

Antares watched with curiosity, “Is that skill meant for burning corpses?”

Only two seconds later, a faint sound echoed, and the corpses suddenly rose.

The corpses had come back to life.

Antares instinctively drew his head back slightly as the atmosphere turned eerie.

The dead coming back to life, even Antares had never witnessed such a thing.

Once dead, one should remain dead.

Wrapped in flames, the corpses staggered upright.

Their eyes snapped open, sweeping across the surroundings as if life had truly returned to them.

After observing for a few moments, Antares realized something was wrong.

The state of these resurrected corpses was abnormal. Their auras had surged dramatically, far surpassing their strength in life.

The ordinary boss, for instance, now radiated an aura comparable to a lord rank boss.

“What kind of skill is this?” Antares asked.

“It’s called Raise Dead…” Lin Moyu replied, giving a detailed explanation.

Antares murmured, “To think such a skill exists…”

“Is there a time limit for how long the corpse has been dead?”

Like Corpse Explosion before it evolved into a soul skill, it once required fresh corpses to unleash its full power.

Lin Moyu shook his head, “I’m not sure.”

“Wait a moment.” Antares lifted his head, as if searching for something.

The surrounding mist churned violently, as though a massive claw were rummaging through it.

Half a minute later, Antares flung a skeleton from the mist.

The skeleton was astonishingly intact, frozen in the very posture it had at the moment of death. It was clear the remains had never been disturbed.

Golden specks shimmered across the skeleton, and a powerful aura still lingered within them. Whoever this being had been, they must have possessed tremendous strength in life.

Lin Moyu studied the skeleton’s appearance, “Is this a Dreadbeast?”

Antares gave a grunt, “The skeleton of a Dreadbeast King. Its soul was destroyed long ago, but the body wasn’t damaged much, so it remained mostly intact.”

Even after more than 1,000 years, the skeleton had not decayed—a testament to the creature’s former might.

A Dreadbeast King was comparable to a high-tier God-level class user, typically reaching at least level 96.

Lin Moyu cast Raise Dead once more.

A cluster of silver-white flames descended upon the Dreadbeast King skeleton, burning fiercely.

Antares stared intently. He was eager to see what Lin Moyu’s skill would do to the remains of a creature that had been dead for a millennium.

What happened next stunned him.

Within the silver-white undead flames, flesh and blood began to regenerate.

It was an unbelievable sight. A skeleton that had lain dead for a millennium was actually regaining life.

Even Antares could not comprehend it.

Lin Moyu’s skill overturned his understanding of the world, forcing him to rethink everything he believed he knew. The mysteries of this world far exceeded his imagination.

The self-proclaimed all-knowing Antares realized that there were still many things in the world beyond his understanding.

In the blink of an eye, the Dreadbeast King fully regenerated and sprang to its feet.

An astonishing aura radiated from its body, intertwined with law.

Not only had it been resurrected, it was stronger than it had been in life.

The skill itself provided buffs, and as Lin Moyu’s summon, it was further strengthened by Lin Moyu’s talent.

Most astonishing of all, its combat power after resurrection was completely unaffected by Lin Moyu’s level.

Antares quickly judged its strength. The resurrected Dreadbeast King possessed combat power roughly equivalent to level 98, bordering on half-step Transcendent God-level.

Now it stood as Lin Moyu’s summon, ready to be commanded at will.

After conducting several tests, Lin Moyu finally canceled the skill.

A gust of wind swept through the area.

In an instant, all the resurrected corpses vanished, reduced to nothing but drifting ashes.

Antares muttered, “Ridiculous… No wonder the great world rune wants to stop you. Your skill is utterly unbelievable…”
