Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

The red light lingering in the sky had not yet completely dissipated.

Lin Moyu could vaguely sense law aura, yet unlike Antares, he could not determine which law it was.

Antares suddenly jolted awake, his eyes filled with shock as he stared into the sky.

“The law of time!”

The words were spoken with grave seriousness.

Within the red light, Antares had sensed the law of time.

Lin Moyu glanced at Antares, “Is there a problem?”

Antares didn’t respond immediately. Instead, it said in a low voice, “Do it again.”

He was still uncertain. How could the law of time possibly appear here?

Lin Moyu raised his hand and pointed toward the sky. Instantly, the red light ignited once more.

This time, Antares was certain; he had not been mistaken. It truly was the law of time.

“Aim it at me. Use your full power.” Antares said in a low voice.

Lin Moyu did not hesitate. He immediately cast the skill toward Antares.

With his current strength, harming Antares was impossible, so there was no need for concern.

The red light flickered across Antares’s enormous body.

Antares shook his head. His eyes narrowed, revealing a sharp and dangerous glint.

Then he let out a thunderous roar that shook the heavens and earth.

Clang!

A scale detached from his body and fell heavily to the ground.

Antares glanced at the fallen scale and murmured, “Not bad at all.”

Lin Moyu noticed that the scale looked different. It seemed to have developed cracks.

However, his level was still too low to fully understand what had happened.

Lin Moyu asked, “What exactly is going on?”

Antares explained, “Your skill carries a trace of the law of time, a very faint one.”

“I redirected the power of your attack into this single scale. Under its influence, the scale decayed.”

Although Lin Moyu did not fully understand the law of time, he knew one thing: if the skill could affect Antares, its power must be extraordinary.

“How strong is it?”

Antares replied, “Very strong. It can essentially instantly kill any class user below God-level.”

“Even God-level class users would suffer heavy damage.”

“This trace of the law of time contains the property of decay. In a single instant, it aged this scale by several decades.”

“I’m curious. How did you manage to do it?”

Lin Moyu answered, “I fused several skills together. I used Deterioration Curse as the base and combined it with Soul Blaze and Poison Starburst.”

His experiments with skill fusion had lasted seven full days.

During that time, he had tested countless combinations and discovered that it was far more complicated than he had imagined.

Different skill combinations produced completely different results.

Even when using the same skills, altering their relative proportions could change the outcome.

Lin Moyu felt like an Alchemist experimenting with potions. The skills were like ingredients. Add too much or too little of one ingredient, or remove or replace one ingredient, could lead failure.

Through his experiments, Lin Moyu also discovered several limitations.

First, he could fuse at most three skills together. Once he attempted to combine a fourth, the entire fusion would collapse instantly.

He suspected this limitation was related both to his current level and to Infinite Fusion itself.

After all, Infinite Fusion was still only an ordinary skill and had not yet evolved into a soul skill.

There was another restriction as well: ordinary skills could not be fused with soul skills.

The moment such a fusion was attempted, it would result in failure without exception.

Lin Moyu had tested this thoroughly. Even soul skills could not be fused with one another.

The reason lay in the Infinite Fusion skill itself. It was simply too weak at the moment to manipulate soul skills.

After seven full days of relentless experimentation, Lin Moyu finally created this new skill: a fusion of Deterioration Curse, Soul Blaze, and Poison Starburst.

The result was decent, though far from what he had originally envisioned.

His goal had been to create a skill powerful enough to destroy stars.

He had even attempted to fuse Corpse Explosion into the mix, but the skill wouldn’t allow it. In the end, he had no choice but to abandon the idea.

While Lin Moyu considered the result merely acceptable, Antares saw it very differently.

To Antares, the skill was nothing short of miraculous.

All because of the faint trace of the law of time contained within it.

Even such an insignificant trace of the law of time could produce terrifying effects.

It amplified the skill’s power to an astonishing degree, enough to instantly kill non-God-level class users and severely injure low-tier God-level class users.

At Antares’s request, Lin Moyu used the skill several more times.

Each attack damaged another scale.

Yet Antares seemed to enjoy the process immensely.

After unleashing 10 attacks in a row, Lin Moyu finally asked, “Are you alright?”

Asking to be attacked repeatedly and looking pleased about it, Antares’s behavior was truly strange.

Antares shook his head, “I’m fine. I’m experiencing the law of time.”

Lin Moyu frowned, “Power of that level—are you interested in it?”

Antares shook his massive head, “It’s different. The attack power may be low, but the level is extremely high. That is the law of time we’re talking about. Do you have any idea how many people dream of it?”

“Believe me, if you went to the greater world and told people you possessed a law of time attack without requiring God-level power… countless top-tier powerhouses would come looking for you. They’d capture you and force you to cast that skill every single day.”

“Don’t worry. Even if you refused, they would have plenty of ways to make you obey.”

His words sent a chill down Lin Moyu’s spine. For a moment, he could almost imagine himself being treated like a slave.

Lin Moyu frowned, “Didn’t you say those top-tier powerhouses all pursue greater world runes?”

Antares laughed. “Only a few of them can truly pursue greater world runes—people like that old man you met.”

“Most top-tier powerhouses take a step back and pursue next-tier powers.”

Lin Moyu blinked in surprise, “You mean the law of time?”

Antares nodded, “There’s no harm telling you. You’ve already come into contact with law anyway.”

“There are countless laws, but they’re ranked by strength. The law of time belongs to the very top, the first tier.”

“And the law of lightning, which you’re currently most familiar with, is a branch of the elemental laws. It belongs to the third tier.”

Lin Moyu was startled, “It’s that weak?”

Antares grunted, “Roughly speaking, yes.”

“And the law of time sits firmly in the first tier. You tell me, is it powerful or not?”

Lin Moyu thought of another law he had encountered but had yet to grasp, “What about the law of life?”

Antares replied, “What life law? You haven’t even touched its surface. At best, you’ve brushed against its aura, just an empty shell.”

Lin Moyu understood, “Then which laws belong to each tier?”

Antares shook his head, “There are too many to list, but I can give you a rough idea.”

“The first tier contains the fewest laws. The most famous are the law of time and the law of space, followed by the law of destruction and the law of creation.”

“The second tier includes the law of slaughter and the law of life.”

“The third tier consists mainly of elemental laws: the law of wind, the law of fire, the law of lightning, the law of light, and the like.”

“The gap between each tier becomes larger and larger.”

“It’s true that the real top-tier beings pursue greater world runes, but those are almost impossible to obtain. So those who fall short focus on pursuing first tier laws instead.”

“Do you understand now?”

Lin Moyu wasn’t foolish; of course he understood.

He said slowly, “It seems that the stronger the law… the more ethereal and elusive it becomes.”
