My Cards are Infinitely Refreshed

250: Advance to [Amazing 4]After the Demon-Defeating Dark Hunter, Shi Li’s next card to ascend to five stars was the Listen to the Wind card, Fennec Fox Girl.

This card had a high appearance rate in Shi Li’s deck.

It wasn’t because of its high strength, but mainly because its appearance didn’t occupy a character card slot.

However, in PVP, this card was mostly dispensable.

Why? Because many times, Shi Li didn’t even need to reveal it as an extra bonus to secure victory.

Instead, in the various duel modes in the Divine Realm, it was even more in its element.

Fennec Fox Girl

Listen to the Wind, 0 points, Five-star Attack 0, 100/100, 0/90

Anywhere Stand - Trait: Can be placed in the Ace Row, increasing the number of allied regular cards in play by 1.

Sky View - Trait: Fennec Fox Girl can be placed outside the card table and does not count towards the number of cards in play. Small Animal - Passive: When Fennec Fox Girl is a regular card, she does not occupy a reveal slot. Listen to the Wind Sound - Passive: Fennec Fox Girl’s Still state additionally restores 10 Energy. Enemy Disturbance Scream - 20 Energy: Fennec Fox Girl selects 1 target, causing it to gain 20→30 Weakness.

Demonstration Scream - 20 Energy: Fennec Fox Girl casts Dispel on 1 row of targets, ignoring blocking. Soothing Scream - 60 Energy: Fennec Fox Girl casts 20→30 Healing on all allied revealed cards.

Protection Scream - 60 Energy: Fennec Fox Girl casts 20→30 Shield on all allied revealed cards.

(Weakness: Reduces the target’s attack power by the corresponding value)

”This----”

Shi Li didn’t expect the Fennec Fox Girl’s new mechanism to be so special.

With the enhancement of this new Trait, the 50% increase in stat values seemed less striking.

Placing it outside the card table meant it wouldn’t receive any attacks.

Then Shi Li pulled up a simulated card table for a real test, and his own Encouragement could indeed buff the Fennec Fox Girl, just as her positive and negative skills could buff allies and enemies.

What else would happen then?

That is, the Fennec Fox Girl’s attacks ignore blocking.

Because it’s outside the card table, there’s no concept of blocking or not blocking.

If Shi Li wanted, he could completely let it cross distances to scout the opponent’s Ace card location.

Just like how it could Still Charge cards with Persistence despite having 0 attack.

As long as it hit the right spot, it could Still trigger the Ace card’s reveal.

Besides that, the most important thing was the effect formed between its two Characteristics.

One was +1 to the number of cards in play, and the other was being placed outside the card table, not counting towards the number of cards in play.

So, what kind of optimal result would this produce?

That is, the Fennec Fox Girl places herself outside the card table, not occupying a slot in the number of cards in play.

At the same time, it provides a +1 buff to the number of allied cards in play.

Combined with the cicada wing brave, Shi Li could directly have a super large deck of 10+2 cards.

2 Ace cards, plus the cloud sea vessel that can be placed in the Ace slot, and then 9 regular cards in normal positions.

And then with the Fennec Fox Girl herself, Shi Li’s deck would actually have 11 regular cards.

This formation, with 3 more cards than others, would have a natural advantage from the start, no matter how it was played.

After the Fennec Fox Girl, Shi Li chose the Withering Dragon for Star Ascension.

As a heterogeneous card, this card was relatively difficult to ascend to five stars.

First, its simulated mission token cards were more expensive than other systems.

For example, the Moonlight Werewolf of the Wandering system only needed 2 five-star token cards from the Wind Chasing System to ascend to five stars.

Of course, there were also dedicated five-star token cards for the Wandering system in the Points Mall (Points Mall), priced similarly to 2 Wind Chasing System cards.

But the points required for the Wither system were equivalent to 3 ordinary system token cards.

Then, the materials for card crafting were also two to three times more than what other cards needed for five stars.

The simulation missions, in contrast, were easier.

It was just about making different card enemies die under Wither.

Shi Li put in a lot of effort to complete the Withering Dragon’s five-Star Ascension.

Withering Dragon

Wither, 30 points, Five-star Attack 30, 100/100, 0/100

Wither Immortal - Trait: Withering Dragon resets its health every turn. Permanent Wither - Trait: Wither inflicted by Withering Dragon cannot be Purified.

Eternal Claws - Passive: Withering Dragon’s attacks apply 10 Wither effect. Wither Bomb - Passive: When Withering Dragon leaves the field, 1 target gains 30 Wither effect. Old Death New Life - Passive: When Withering Dragon leaves the field, 1 target gains 30 Charge.

Wither Magic - 30 Energy: Withering Dragon attacks 1 target, applying 30 Wither effect. Wither Curse - 30 Energy: Withering Dragon causes 1 target to gain 10% of its maximum health in Wither effect.

Wither Abyss - 100 Energy: Withering Dragon itself gains 24 hours of Still, and 1 card gains 240 hours of Still.

(Wither: Lose the corresponding value of maximum health this match, stackable)

(Still: Target cannot enter the card table for the duration)

”This is incredible.”

Shi Li looked at the Withering Dragon’s new panel.

First, after Star Ascension, it perfectly compensated for its shortcomings.

The four-star Withering Dragon had three shortcomings.

The first was its excessively low health.

Although it reset every turn, 50 health was simply too low.

Many of the matches he now experienced were high-end, and even Divine Realm monsters were stronger than ordinary monsters.

50 health, to be honest, sometimes couldn’t even withstand a wave of AOE from the opponent.

But now, the negative effect of -50 maximum health was removed, bringing its health back to 100.

100 health, the concept was completely different.

In some low-end matches, or in the endgame.

When the opponent’s maximum output in a single turn couldn’t reach 100, the Withering Dragon would be an invincible existence.

The second Weakness was that Wither was most afraid of Purification.

No matter how many stacks of Wither the Withering Dragon applied to the opponent, one Purification would instantly remove them.

It should be known that Wither deducted maximum health, and current health was reduced accordingly.

But when Wither was removed by Purification, the target’s temporarily lost health would be returned along with the maximum health.

Now, with the new Trait that Wither cannot be removed by Purification, its combat power has greatly increased.

The third Weakness was that Wither was relatively difficult to apply.

This Weakness was mainly due to the Wither system being difficult to Charge, making it hard to cast skills.

But now it’s different; its basic attacks alone permanently apply 10 Wither.

This is equivalent to a 30-point card having 40 attack power and also deducting 10 maximum health from the opponent.

Therefore, the Withering Dragon’s positioning has also changed.

Previously, although its health could refresh, because it only had 50 maximum health, it could only serve as a character more inclined to trigger deathrattles.

Combined with the five-star cicada wing brave’s Legacy to trigger a second deathrattle, it would have a better effect.

However, now that its survival ability has greatly increased, it is no longer limited to triggering deathrattles.

Just performing basic attacks every turn is enough to deal considerable sustained damage.

More crucially, Wither cannot be Purified, which will make it quite troublesome for targets attacked by it to enjoy Recovery effects.

The last added active skill entry is quite special.

Shi Li also saw an active skill with a similar effect for the first time.

It was actually a skill that leaned towards out-of-field factors.

Out-of-field refers to factors outside the card table.

Still-ing an opponent’s card for 240 hours means the opponent cannot use that card again for 10 days.

And in return, the Withering Dragon only needs to sacrifice 1 day of its own time.

However, the situations where it can be used are few that Shi Li can think of for now.

Unless he needs to fight the same opponent multiple times in 10 days, this move will be difficult to utilize effectively.

But its special mechanism Still made Shi Li love it.

After the Withering Dragon, the next card to undergo Star Ascension was Fleeing Ink.

The special mechanism of this card also made Shi Li greatly appreciate it, or rather, marvel at it.

Fleeing Ink

Balanced, 30 points, Five-star Attack 30, 100/100

Timid Instinct - Trait: Fleeing Ink’s maximum health. Re-Face-down Card at the start of each new turn (T0).

Charming Ink - Passive: On the turn Fleeing Ink is revealed, causes 1→2 non-Ace targets to fall into Blindness (T2).

Protective Coloration - Passive: The first time Fleeing Ink is re-Face-down Card, it becomes untargetable for 1 turn. Deep Sea Immunity - Passive: Fleeing Ink is immune to all delayed effects. Water Wave Impact - Passive: On the turn Fleeing Ink is revealed, releases a shockwave dealing 10→15 Fixed Damage (T0).

Bubble Wrap Shield - Passive: After Fleeing Ink is Face-down Card, the card revealed in that position next turn gains 30 Shield.

No Take-backs - Passive: When Fleeing Ink leaves the field, all Face-down Cards on the field cannot be replaced. Mixing Fish Eyes with Pearls - Passive: When Fleeing Ink leaves the field, 2 Face-down Cards can be Replaced.

First, it also removed the negative effect of health reduction in its Trait.

From 70 health at four stars, it became 100 health at five stars.

Then, Charming Ink was enhanced, changing from 1 target to 2, doubling its efficiency.

Then, Water Wave Impact’s damage increased by 50%, equivalent to a generalized Fel Purge.

Most importantly, it also gained two new deathrattle entries.

The effects of these two deathrattle entries are quite different.

They definitely belong to special mechanisms.

It’s important to know that a large part of the fundamental gap between Card Players is reflected in the depth of their cards.

By observing the opponent’s revealed cards, then deciding what tactics to use next, and changing Face-down Cards to achieve tactical variations.

But if Face-down Cards cannot be replaced, the side with deeper foundations will be greatly restricted.

It’s like being forcibly pulled to the same starting line.

Moreover, some Card Players have bad habits, such as casually placing an unimportant card when Face-down Carding before deciding what to reveal.

Actually, this can’t be called a bad habit.

Because Shi Li has encountered individual Diamond Card Players whose cards can directly attack Face-down Cards, or have priority, special attacks, targeting, and so on.

Once, he placed a Red Blade Maiden in a Face-down Card position, but it was destroyed by the opponent before he could reveal it, resulting in the loss of this card for nothing, and he fell into a considerable disadvantage at the time.

If it had been a random worthless card placed there, it wouldn’t have hurt as much to lose it.

Let’s go back to Fleeing Ink’s No Take-backs.

The act of replacing a card happens before it’s revealed.

This means that on the turn it’s revealed, the opponent definitely won’t have time to replace their Face-down Card; they can only do so next turn.

But if Shi Li takes out Fleeing Ink at this moment, he can catch the opponent off guard.

This is equivalent to sacrificing one of his 30-point regular cards to gain tactical initiative.

It’s a viable tactic.

Then, the second new deathrattle entry, Mixing Fish Eyes with Pearls.

It’s somewhat similar to Snail Walking Lady’s Stars Shifting and Moving.

But the difference is that the former targets combat cards, while the latter targets Face-down Cards.

And it targets all Face-down Cards, allowing any two Face-down Cards on the entire field to swap positions.

Shi Li tested it with a simulated card table and discovered the pattern.

First, it can only be used on Face-down Cards, which is beyond doubt.

But another point is that regular Face-down Card positions can only swap with other regular Face-down Card positions.

This rule applies to both sides; it cannot Replace one’s own regular Face-down Card with one’s own Ace card, nor can one’s own regular Face-down Card Replace an opponent’s Ace card.

However, Ace Face-down Cards can Replace with other Ace Face-down Cards.

Of course, if you don’t know the exact location of the opponent’s Ace card, you might swap with an empty Face-down Card on their side.

But similarly, Shi Li could use his own empty Ace Face-down Card to swap with the opponent’s.

If he swapped his empty Ace Face-down Card for the opponent’s Ace Face-down Card, that would be a gain.

He could directly reveal it with an attack and then besiege it.

Another point is that he found that regular cards placed in the Ace slot could also swap positions with the opponent’s Ace Face-down Cards.

For example, the Fennec Fox Girl and the cloud sea vessel, if they weren’t chosen to be placed outside the card table.

As regular cards, they would automatically be revealed after swapping.

For the Fennec Fox Girl, swapping positions actually has little meaning.

The key point lies with the cloud sea vessel.

Under the hundred mountain vessel’s shared health, even if it swaps over, it can Still have decent survival ability.

Then it can also perform a fusion behind enemy lines, greatly increasing its survival ability and threat level.

This card is very good.

Using it to send other powerful cards to the opponent’s side is also a very useful tactic.

Like dropping a bomb.

For example, throwing a Flower Cudgel Leader over, revealing it to first unleash an Invincibility, then excavating.

If used in conjunction with Abyss Slime, it could also deploy a 2-slot version of the red dragon beast master, swapping over two of the opponent’s Face-down Cards.

At that time, the red dragon beast master could be revealed all at once, but the opponent’s two cards could only be revealed one by one.

One revealed, the other would be a Face-down Card, easily destroyed.

Or, combined with the Breaker’s Face-down Card skill, it should also produce good results.
