My Cards are Infinitely Refreshed

219: The strongest full moonChapter 219: Strongest Full Moon

First, two new entries were added.

”I finally have [Absolute Damage].”

Shi Li felt a slight sense of relief.

Although the pursuit damage of [Demonbane Dark Hunter] only had 10 points of [Finishing Blow] and 10 points of [Echo], even as [Absolute Damage], the value was very low.

But at least it had it; this was a good start.

What’s more, [Finishing Blow] and [Echo] becoming [Absolute Damage] was also a buff, no longer fearing various Damage Reduction and [Defense].

It could even form a very good synergy with the ace [Flower Cudgel Leader].

[Flower Cudgel Leader] deals 90 points of [Full Penetration] with [Splendor of the Staff], and the remaining 10 points of damage are supplemented by [Demonbane Dark Hunter].

This way, three of the opponent’s cards could be instantly killed in one round.

As long as this tactic could be successfully executed, Shi Li believed that victory would basically be secured.

After all, this could eliminate three cards in one round.

As for the other entry, its effect was actually somewhat similar to [Source Interception].

But its effect was stronger, and it also had an additional effect: it could help [Demonbane Dark Hunter] quickly deplete its mana, meeting the conditions for using its ultimate hand card.

Furthermore, the corresponding effects mentioned in the entry varied depending on the target’s system.

For example, Steadfast System targets would suffer from [Fragile Mind], Momentum System targets from [Lower One’s Banners], Wind Chasing System targets from [Futility], Listening Wind System targets from [Distractions], and Wither System targets from [Exorcism].

All of these were corresponding effects that prevented them from gaining Charge.

As for Balance System, Rage System, and Wisdom System, they had slightly different effects.

[Imbalance]: Causes Balance System targets to gain [Seal]

[Health Preservation]: Causes Rage System targets to gain [Healing Ban]

[Elemental Collapse]: Prevents Wisdom System targets from using skills. Shi Li tested it on a simulated chess board, and the [Lower One’s Banners] attached to this effect could work on [Flower Cudgel Leader].

[Weight of the Flower Stick - Characteristic]: Flower Cudgel Leader has no energy consumption, and cannot use skills when at max energy. This [Characteristic] can only prevent consumption like [Quantum Entanglement].

However, [Lower One’s Banners] starts from the source, preventing you from gaining energy through attacks.

[Flower Cudgel Leader] is not [Magic Immunity], so this effect will take effect.

This way, the synergy between [Demonbane Dark Hunter] + [Flower Cudgel Leader] is further enhanced.

In fact, when combined, their effect might even be greater than [bo shan] + [cloud river].

Of course, this does not include the combined effect.

However, [Demonbane Seal] still has a flaw: its energy cost is too high.

If it’s not cast in the first round after revealing the card, and [Finishing Blow] or [Echo] is played, then there definitely won’t be enough mana to cast this 60-point skill in the next round.

If [Magic Siphon] is used to cast this skill by consuming someone else’s mana, then first, you must ensure the opponent has 60 energy.

60 energy is already considered a relatively high value, not even that common among four-star character cards.

But no matter what, it’s strong.

”The combination of these two cards is enough for me to defeat many opponents.”

Shi Li was very satisfied with these two cards he had recently Star Ascended.

”Unfortunately, I don’t have enough money to Star Ascend [The Diner] yet.”

Finally, he showed a wry smile.

Because he knew that the days of gold farming were coming again.

Next, he would return to the rhythm of gold farming during the day and ladder climbing at night.

Gold farming not only earns money but also allows him to complete Star Ascension quests for other cards.

It had been proven before that some quests could be carried out and completed in the Chess Domain.

However, such days probably wouldn’t last for many more days.

After the ladder month completely ended, he should return to school to participate in the New Star Cup.

And so, Shi Li returned to his previous daily rhythm.

Knowing that he would be leaving for a long time, Leo and the others became even more active in organizing gold farming groups and recruiting bosses.

In the following few days, Shi Li earned an average of 400,000 to 500,000 per day.

However, he didn’t pay too much attention to this for now, as his focus was on the Full Moon Ladder.

The last three days of the ladder month quickly arrived, and the moon in the Chess Domain was exceptionally round.

As night fell, single-step ladders formed by moonlight scattered throughout Tianshan City.

Shi Li casually found a deserted spot and then stepped onto the solitary light ladder.

Buzz!

As soon as he officially stepped on it, light ladders began to pave upward out of thin air.

Each step represented his personal progress in the challenge.

And the height of the long light ladder was a true reflection of one’s strength.

The eight hundred or so light steps from clearing Nightmare 8 were the current limit of progress.

Many light ladders nearby were ascended, their varying heights and lengths reflecting each person’s different progress.

Even so, Shi Li’s light ladder still stood in a league of its own in Tianshan City.

After all, chess players who could clear Nightmare 8 probably accounted for less than 1%.

Such a striking height of the light ladder naturally attracted many people’s attention and exclamations.

Fortunately, after ascending the light ladder, one’s image would be blurred, so no one could discover Shi Li’s true identity, saving him a lot of unnecessary trouble.

[Full Moon Mode activated.]

[Please select the character you wish to challenge.]

”I must be cautious.”

From Leo, Shi Li already knew the differences of the Full Moon Mode.

[Red Blade Maiden]

Rage, 50/50

[Tenacity - Trait]: Red Blade Maiden possesses [Super Armor] and [Resistance] effects. Although [Red Blade Maiden] has extremely high stats, her tactics are also too straightforward.

Broad and open, with not much variation to speak of.

If it were a character selection in a real game, then she would belong to the type of character with low difficulty to pick up,

suitable for new players.

If one could successfully defeat hidden strong enemies during the process and obtain the action card transformed from her ultimate hand card, then she would be even more formidable.

In ladder mode, the keywords he gave for her evaluation were:

Percentage damage, sustain, crowd control immunity, transformation. ”And under similar circumstances, [Jumping Dragon Guard] is actually more suitable for this mode than [Red Blade Maiden].”

[Jumping Dragon Guard]

Persistence, 30/30+30/30, 0/30

[Multi-core - Characteristic]: Jumping Dragon Guard’s health is divided into 2 segments, unaffected by any external positive effects. ”[Jumping Dragon Guard]’s base stats are slightly higher than [Red Blade Maiden]’s, and it’s actually more suitable for dealing with difficulty modes than [Red Blade Maiden].”

Shi Li’s first clear of Nightmare 8 relied on [Jumping Dragon Guard].

Although it does not accept external buffs, there are always some supply checkpoints outside of combat that can help the character regain health.

These types of supply checkpoints exist outside of the combat game content, so they are not affected by [Jumping Dragon Guard].

The main playstyle of [Jumping Dragon Guard] is to collect as many [Defense] type action cards as possible.

Then accumulate energy and play various Tiao Tiao summon cards to assist in combat.

Furthermore, although equipment cards cannot affect [Jumping Dragon Guard], it can still increase its maximum health through leveling up.

And precisely because it is incompatible with equipment cards, Shi Li’s choices become simpler, allowing him to rule out many options.

The keywords he gave were:

Summon, durable, Counterattack. In addition to [Jumping Dragon Guard], he also developed several other character cards during this time.

For example, [Flower Cudgel Leader].

Momentum, 50/50, 0/50

[Weight of the Flower Stick - Characteristic]: Flower Cudgel Leader has no energy consumption, and cannot use skills when at max energy. It is even simpler and more direct than [Red Blade Maiden], and has been greatly enhanced - its energy cap has increased.

Basically, it’s about instantly killing the opponent within 3 rounds of the start; if it can’t, then it’s basically over.

It can be troublesome when facing enemies with high survivability, strong Recovery, or powerful crowd control or debuffs, but it’s very strong at other times.

After collecting various buffs to achieve a perfect system, it can almost instantly kill anyone in 2 rounds, including the final BOSS of Nightmare 8.

The keywords he gave were:

High burst, Brute Force, AOE

[red dragon beast master]

Rage, 100/100

[Red Lotus - Characteristic]: red dragon beast master gains 1 [Dragon Flame] for every 50 points of health lost.

This card’s approach is somewhat similar to [Red Blade Maiden]’s; both are Rage cards.

However, it has excellent base health, and when it loses health, it can also grant the chess player 1 powerful attack action card.

With [Dragon Flame] as the tactical core, various tactics can be derived.

When playing it, Shi Li’s goal is to stack as much maximum health and health Recovery as possible.

And [red dragon beast master]’s attack method is also very direct and simple, which is to continuously inflict [Burning] on the opponent, stacking layers to deal terrifying damage.

The keywords he gave for its evaluation were:

Tank, control, DOT

[Demonbane Dark Hunter]

Persistence, 50/50, 0/60

[Demonbane - Characteristic]: Demonbane Dark Hunter possesses [Magic Immunity] effect. Don’t let [Demonbane Dark Hunter]’s role as a support in both card games and chess games, a character that adds icing to the cake in terms of output, fool you.

However, in the ladder mode, it possesses extremely powerful combat embroidery.

Especially the skill [Echo], which is simply a divine skill.

[Conditional Counter-Curse - 10 Energy]: Demonbane Dark Hunter initiates a 10-point [Echo] on its own.

([Echo]: When an enemy uses an action card, immediately launch an attack.)

This means that any action card used by the opponent will trigger its pursuit [Echo].

It’s important to know that in ladder mode, playing multiple action cards in one round is a very common occurrence.

Coupled with collecting [Echo], it can then also collect [Quantum Entanglement] attached to [Demonbane Dark Hunter]’s attacks and [Absolute Damage] attached to its pursuits.

This leads to [Demonbane Dark Hunter] being able to deal a large amount of output.

If the opponent chooses not to play any action cards to avoid [Echo], while this can avoid [Echo], it undoubtedly means they have already lost.

How can you fight if you don’t even play action cards?

Of course, [Demonbane Dark Hunter] itself is such an existence.

Sometimes it really doesn’t need to play action cards; it can just wait for the opponent to defeat themselves.

However, the first point that makes [Demonbane Dark Hunter] the strongest is that it possesses [Magic Immunity].

Enemies in the ladder carry a large number of negative effects, which can greatly weaken the character’s combat embroidery.

Or some evil Blessings in certain options, while granting high positive effects, come with equally high negative effects as a cost.

[Demonbane Dark Hunter] has [Magic Immunity], allowing it to ignore these costs and only reap the benefits.

Negative effects appear much more frequently than control effects in the ladder, and their specific effects are no weaker than control.

The keywords he gave for its evaluation were:

Immunity, pursuit, mana burn. [Withering Dragon]

Wither, 50/50, 0/60

[Wither Immortality - Characteristic]: Withering Dragon’s maximum health is fixed at 50 points, and its health is reset every round. This character was discovered by Shi Li in the later stages.

Although its health is fixed, it can still find many other directions for survival [Blessing] [Equipment].

For example, Damage Reduction, or a Shield every round.

However, the weakness of [Withering Dragon] lies in the fact that most of its card entries are ’death rattles’, and ’death rattle’ entries cannot provide much use in the ladder mode.

But the advantage is that in the early stages, [Withering Dragon]’s [Characteristic] has a very strong fault tolerance.

As long as the enemy cannot instantly kill it, it will be at full health in the next round.

And even for enemies in Nightmare 8, even in the mid-game, it’s not very common to encounter high-attack threats that can deal 50 damage in one round.

They only appear in the late game, but by then, [Withering Dragon] might have already collected other survival [Blessing] and [Equipment].

”I’ll still use [Withering Dragon] first.

Before encountering a worthy opponent, I’ll try to collect as much as possible to form a complete build.”

After analyzing the several cards, Shi Li made his decision.

One of the biggest differences between Full Moon Ladder and regular Ladder is PVP.

Whenever progress reaches a certain point, one will encounter a competitor at the same level of progress.

Only by defeating the opponent can one continue to advance.

And there’s only one chance; once you fail in a stage or are defeated by a competitor, you completely lose your qualification.

[Selection complete, entering Ladder.]

With the selection complete, Full Moon Mode officially began.

Three similar options appeared before Shi Li.

[1. Full Moon Ghoul - LV1]

[An enemy that only appears during the Full Moon, much stronger than a regular Ghoul.]

[2. Moonlight Blessing]

[You can choose one of three Blessings.]

[3. Shop]

[You can spend Moon Coins to purchase items in the shop.]

”I’ll choose the Blessing first.”

Shi Li was already familiar with the process.

The earlier he chose a Blessing, the more beneficial it would be for his subsequent challenges.

[Faith in the Moon]: Gain 10 Charge every round.

[Risk Protocol]: Current health -90%, subsequent battle rewards +30%.

[Charger’s Horn]: The effect of the first action card in each battle is doubled. ”Comfortable.”

Shi Li could only say his luck was truly too good.

[Risk Protocol] is one of the most suitable Blessings for [Withering Dragon].

Because it completely ignores this negative effect; at the start of a new battle, it immediately restores to full health.

And getting a Blessing that permanently increases battle rewards so early is definitely one of the best plans.

Soon, Shi Li continuously defeated 3 sub-stage enemies.

However, he resisted the urge to look at the shop the entire time.

”I must activate that crucial node before encountering the first competitor.”

Because he knew exactly what he needed, and before that, he had to resist spending.
