My Cards are Infinitely Refreshed

196: Scenario HandChapter 196: Scenario Hand Card

Shi Li deployed, of course, the Fel Energy Nemesis, Cicada Wing Patrol.

In the Chess Domain, its panel had also undergone significant changes.

Cicada Wing Patrol

Balanced, 30 points, Three-star Attack 30, 100/100

Movement Range 6, Attack Range 1

Universal – Characteristic: When Cicada Wing Patrol is deployed, increase friendly score limit by 10.

Blessing – Passive: When Cicada Wing Patrol is deployed, 1 battle chess piece gains 10 Encouragement for this game.

Fel Purge – Passive: Cicada Wing Patrol deals 20 damage to all Fel Energy battle chess pieces every turn; derived cards deal double damage.

Spiritual Leader – Passive: After Cicada Wing Patrol retreats, the friendly side gains an additional deployment opportunity within its Movement range next turn.

“Brother Wang Defa, this isn’t a damage-absorbing chess piece, is it?”

Captain 27 expressed her confusion.

“I can burn at least 40 health from the opponent for free every turn. You tell me if they want to kill me or not.”

Shi Li spread his hands.

From this perspective, it was indeed a damage-absorbing position.

The opponent was eager to kill him quickly, so it was definitely a damage-absorbing role.

“This battle chess piece—it’s amazing!”

“Just by staying in place, Cicada Wing Patrol can deal stable, full-screen damage.”

“If left unchecked, the damage it deals will increase, severely lowering the opponent’s health.”

“But if they want to deal with it, that means the Blacklight Group needs to abandon their current local advantage and move towards Cicada Wing Patrol’s position.”

“What a brilliant move to protect the near while deploying far!”

It must be said that Shi Li’s move was definitely a good chess piece that resolved a major encirclement.

Especially since the Blacklight Group also deployed a Fel Energy battle chess piece this turn.

This meant Cicada Wing Patrol could guaranteed deal 20*3 = 60 damage every turn.

“Brother Wang Defa, your move is truly brilliant!”

Captain 21 couldn’t help but praise him.

If Shi Li had deployed Cicada Wing Patrol in the battle zone, the effect would definitely not have been as good as it was now.

Soon, she made a new strategic deployment.

“Our remaining 2 battle chess pieces will try their best to hold off the opponent.”

“Then, starting from the next turn, with Cicada Wing Patrol’s position as the axis, we will re-deploy our defense line and construct our lineup.”

Their remaining 2 battle chess pieces could probably trade for 1 of the opponent’s if they fought to the death.

Even if they couldn’t trade, they could severely damage the berserk Fel Energy battle chess piece, and then Cicada Wing Patrol could burn it to death.

The reason why the Blacklight Group could rank among the top ten mercenary groups with not many members was because of their Fel Energy battle chess pieces, which had a strength exceeding ordinary battle chess pieces, causing headaches for many flag bearers in duels.

Unexpectedly, today they actually saw that such a battle chess piece existed in the world.

Fel Energy counter chess piece!

With the addition of Cicada Wing Patrol, the battle situation was once again broken.

Without the teleportation tactical card, and hindered by the alert range, the Blacklight Group’s 4 battle chess pieces took 2 turns to reach Cicada Wing Patrol.

During this Movement, they had already lost 2 battle chess pieces.

However, the Scarlet Flame Group lost even more battle chess pieces, 3 of them.

Furthermore, after seeing Cicada Wing Patrol, the Blacklight Group stopped deploying Fel Energy battle chess pieces, minimizing the damage.

So, the disadvantage for the Scarlet Flame Group still existed.

Shi Li’s move could only be said to have salvaged the situation from an absolute loss to a state where they could fight.

“All of you, contract your formation and stand behind me.”

Shi Li knew that it was time for him to step forward.

“Uh…”

Upon hearing his words, the three captains all felt a sense of displacement. You are clearly a support-type Balance System battle chess piece, but your tone sounds like a big meat shield.

However, they could understand Shi Li’s tactical intent.

To further reverse the disadvantage, they had to quickly trigger Cicada Wing Patrol’s on-retreat Deathrattle, allowing their side to deploy an additional battle chess piece.

Although this had a hint of overextension, it could at least achieve a situation where both sides had an equal number of battle chess pieces on the board at this stage.

Now the opponent still had 2 Fel Energy battle chess pieces, and Cicada Wing Patrol’s 10 Encouragement was given to himself, making his attack power as high as 40, which was equally threatening to ordinary battle chess pieces.

If Cicada Wing Patrol was pushed to the front line to meet the enemy, he believed the opponent would still consider prioritizing its elimination.

“Stay steady, no rush.”

But Mora clearly saw through this intention.

“It’s already the 4th turn, and our 2 Fel Energy chess pieces are already low on health.

Even if we eliminate Cicada Wing Patrol a little earlier, it won’t prevent the losses already incurred.

Similarly, eliminating it a little later won’t make the losses unacceptable.

By the 6th turn, all battle chess pieces on both sides will be deployed. We’ll focus fire and take this guy down then.

We cannot let the opponent finish deploying all their battle chess pieces early.”

Although he didn’t know what Shi Li’s second battle chess piece would deploy, Mora clearly understood the principle of the chess game.

That was, not to let the opponent have their way.

The more the opponent wanted something, the more they couldn’t let it happen.

Their advantage in the number of chess pieces could completely withstand such attrition.

So, for the next two turns, a very strange scene unfolded on the chessboard.

Cicada Wing Patrol roamed freely within the opponent’s formation as if it could do whatever it pleased, yet no one bothered to deal with it.

On the Blacklight Group’s side, everyone was separated, engaging the Scarlet Flame Group’s other battle chess pieces.

By the time the 6th turn arrived, not many battle chess pieces were left on either side of the field.

The Blacklight Group, including those just deployed this turn, still had 4 battle chess pieces.

The Scarlet Flame Group, not counting Shi Li’s yet-to-be-deployed piece, still had 2 battle chess pieces.

The latter always had 1 less battle chess piece than the former.

“Brother Wang Defa, the rest is up to you.”

Captain 21 placed her last hope on Shi Li.

Their only remaining 2 battle chess pieces were Cicada Wing Patrol and Captain 32’s Chasing Wind-type Recovery battle chess piece.

“No problem, I can do it.”

Shi Li was waiting for this opportunity.

When there were too many enemy battle chess pieces, rushing to deploy a powerful damage dealer would easily get him instantly killed.

But the situation was different now. The opponent only had 4 battle chess pieces left, and there were no Momentum battle chess pieces or other battle chess pieces with an attack range greater than 1.

And on his side, Cicada Wing Patrol and the Chasing Wind battle chess piece formed a pincer position, which was the most important point.

A pincer refers to one on the left and one on the right, with one empty space in the middle.

If a battle chess piece is deployed in this empty space, with all enemies having an attack range of 1, then they can at most only attack by moving to the top and bottom.

The left and right sides are protected by friendly battle chess pieces forming a Barrier.

So he directly deployed Red Blade Maiden between these two Barriers.

“What a powerful battle chess piece!”

“Holy moly, he was hiding such a fierce move?”

“This situation, it’s hard to say now.”

The deployment of Red Blade Maiden naturally caused an uproar.

200 health, recovers 20 health every turn, and one strike can deal 40+40 True Damage.

With this, the situation became unpredictable again.

“It’s fine.”

Facing this last powerful card, Mora appeared very calm.

“Two battle chess pieces attack Red Blade Maiden, and two battle chess pieces attack Cicada Wing Patrol.”

He immediately came up with a countermeasure.

Cicada Wing Patrol had just been hit by consecutive friendly AOE attacks and was no longer at full health.

It would only take two basic attacks to take her down.

As long as one of the opponent’s Barrier battle chess pieces was eliminated, then Red Blade Maiden would be subjected to a three-sided pincer attack next turn.

He had already calculated the outcome: it would ultimately be a 2 for 2 trade.

His side would lose 2 battle chess pieces over 2 turns, trading for Cicada Wing Patrol and Red Blade Maiden.

From the outcome of this turn, it was quite smooth.

Cicada Wing Patrol was eliminated, and Red Blade Maiden also became 110/200.

Next turn, with a three-card encirclement, she would definitely not survive.

However, as the new turn arrived, the deployment phase, which shouldn’t have existed, came again.

“Hmm?”

Mora’s expression stiffened, and he saw Shi Li place a chess piece.

“Danger~ Danger~!”

A fox-eared girl’s figure landed on the chessboard, taking the empty spot Cicada Wing Patrol had just left.

Fennec Fox Girl

Listen to the Wind, 0 points, Three-star Attack 0, 100/100, 0/60

Movement Range 3, Attack Range 1

Deploy Anywhere – Characteristic: Fox Ear Meng Mei increases friendly active chess pieces by 1.

“This—!”

As soon as this battle chess piece was deployed, he was stunned.

“Comeback, comeback!”

“Checkmate!”

“Although this battle chess piece only has 0 attack, it can re-form a protective Barrier for Red Blade Maiden!”

“This way, Red Blade Maiden will still only be attacked by a maximum of 2 battle chess pieces this turn!”

“And Red Blade Maiden can still cooperate with friendly battle chess pieces to eliminate 1 more enemy battle chess piece this turn, without dying herself!”

The audience’s comments already foreshadowed the outcome of this chess game.

It wasn’t until two turns later that Red Blade Maiden perished along with 1 enemy battle chess piece.

What remained was a 2V1 for the Scarlet Flame Group.

Although one was a 0-attack chess piece, it had 20 Weakness, which could greatly reduce the opponent’s output.

Although the other was a Healing chess piece, it still had a base attack power of 30.

With this setup, the Scarlet Flame Group won directly!

“Very good, very good.”

The chess game ended, and Mora looked Shi Li up and down: “I didn’t expect your Scarlet Flame Group to find such a talent.”

After saying this, he didn’t say anything more.

He left directly with his people.

The end of the battle also meant the end of the wager.

The several bosses followed the crowd into the dungeon without hesitation.

Upon entering the dungeon, Shi Li found himself in a ruined city.

The city was desolate, with buildings as far as the eye could see in various states of decay or collapse; not a single one was intact. It looked as if no one had lived here for a very long time.

But amidst the faint mist, some faint lights could be seen.

“City of Corpses is a place full of undead enemies. The enemies here are subject to special rules.”

Leo introduced in a low voice.

There wasn’t enough time on the way here before, so he hadn’t had a chance to explain.

Shi Li then realized that he could indeed view several rules in the panel.

No Pain: All enemies in the dungeon take -20 attack damage.

Afraid of Light: All Recovery effects received by enemies in the dungeon are converted into damage.

“This is a bit new.”

Shi Li became interested.

“If there are no undead-countering battle chess pieces, then only Recovery-type battle chess pieces can be used.”

Leo explained: “This is also one of the biggest difficulties of this dungeon. After all, as you know, Recovery-type battle chess pieces usually have skill effects. If used as an attack method, their efficiency is naturally slower than normal attacks.

Although the undead battle chess pieces here generally have low health.”

However, Shi Li didn’t think much of it, because he had Lotus Succubus, a guy whose basic attack acted as Healing.

“Oh, by the way, although it’s probably unlikely, take this.”

Saying that, Leo handed over a card.

“Oh?”

Shi Li looked and saw it was a quest card.

The Liberator

Quest Content: The City of Corpses was once a prosperous city, but now it has become a tragedy.

Countless innocent souls are trapped in decaying bodies by evil magic.

Clear the City of Corpses and set them free. (0/1)

Enemy Level: ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

Recommended Rank: Emerald

Reward: Up to ☆ ☆ ☆ Tactical Card Blind Box (Can be converted into Scenario Hand Cards)

“Wait a minute.”

Shi Li suspected he was seeing things and asked Leo: “What’s the reward for this quest card?”

“You mean that? It’s not much.”

Leo waved his hand: “These ‘up to’ rewards usually don’t reach the maximum. It depends on an individual’s contribution rate in the dungeon clear.

You need a sufficiently high contribution rate to have a chance to get it.

But the contribution value is constant, which means to get a high contribution value, your teammates’ contribution values must be low.

Low teammate contribution values often mean they’re not pulling their weight.

Running a dungeon with such unhelpful teammates, you basically have no chance of completing the clear.

Based on my experience, usually, the quest card says ☆ ☆ ☆ blind box, but what you actually get is normally a ☆ blind box.

And not everyone even gets a chance to obtain a tactical card; they might get other rewards.

Only very lucky individuals can get a ☆ ☆ blind box.”

In fact, he hadn’t finished speaking.

If it were other already-cleared dungeons, it would be fine.

But this City of Corpses, no team had 100% cleared it yet.

It wasn’t that no one could beat it, but rather that teams with sufficient strength had better dungeons to choose from.

The City of Corpses was the type of dungeon that was thankless work.

The enemies weren’t very strong, just troublesome.

And the dungeon was long, with very mediocre rewards.

Their team already had no full-clear experience, and now with 5 bosses, it was simply impossible to clear it.

Giving Shi Li this quest card was just a way to curry favor.

Anyway, it was free from the tavern, so it didn’t cost anything.

“No, didn’t you see the words in the parentheses?”

But Shi Li wasn’t asking about that at all.

“What parentheses?”

Leo was very confused.

“Oh, I misread.”

Shi Li realized something upon hearing this.

Perhaps it was because of his additional identity as a card player that he could see what was in the parentheses.

However, Scenario Hand Cards, don’t those only appear as a unique card’s innate hand card?

He had truly never heard of Scenario Hand Cards appearing in regular hand cards.
