My Cards are Infinitely Refreshed

187: Scene CardsChapter 187: Scene Card

”What’s going on?!”

”An Zihu revealed his trump card right from the start?!”

”How did he do that?!”

”Golden light! This is a four-star character card!”

An Zihu’s move clearly caught the audience off guard.

”Brothers! Let’s go!”

The card projection showed a man with a passionate headband, holding two drumsticks, with an ancient large round drum in front of him.

It was not only a four-star character card, but also a four-star character card with a Characteristic!

”Battlefront Drummer”

Momentum, 30 points, four-star attack 30, 200/200, 0/40

”Logistics - Characteristic”: Battlefront Drummer’s attack power -30. The Encouragement he receives can be stacked. ”Emotional - Passive”: The Encouragement Battlefront Drummer receives is extended to the entire game. ”Unwavering - Passive”: The Encouragement Battlefront Drummer receives cannot be Dispeled. ”Double Strike - 30 Energy”: Battlefront Drummer attacks the target an additional time. ”Inspiring Drum Song - 20 Energy”: Battlefront Drummer gains 10 Charge and 10 Encouragement.

This card was almost the exact opposite of Flower Cudgel Leader.

It belonged to a very typical warm-up type of Momentum card.

Its strength lay in its unlimited warm-up potential.

Encouragement could not be Dispeled, could be stacked, and was extended to the entire game.

Theoretically, as long as there were enough rounds, this card could stack attack power indefinitely.

On average, it could gain one Encouragement every two rounds.

”However, the shortcomings, or rather the limitations, of this ’Battlefront Drummer’ are also very obvious.”

”Using a skill to increase its own attack power actually means losing an opportunity for output in one round.”

”Only 10 Encouragement every two rounds; the accumulation efficiency is Still too slow.”

”10 points in two rounds, 50 points in ten rounds, but in ten rounds, maybe others have already wiped out your deck.”

”I think you might have misunderstood something. The position where the ’Battlefront Drummer’ is revealed is inherently the trump card slot.

This position would not be revealed under normal circumstances, so the shortcomings you just mentioned are not valid at all.

Even if his trump card doesn’t participate in the attack, it won’t cause any loss.”

”Moreover, 10 Encouragement for an attack opportunity of 30 output seems like a loss, but you have to consider its strategic value.

The value of a 100-attack card is not comparable to two 50-attack cards.”

”What you’re saying seems right. He just revealed his trump card early and let it warm up silently.”

”Then the only drawback is exposing the trump card’s information and position early, right?”

”However, with such a card, there are actually no weaknesses to speak of. The ’cannot Dispel’ effect is too strong.”

While everyone was analyzing, Shi Li was also analyzing.

The stacking speed of the Battlefront Drummer was, after all, too slow.

Therefore, the Battlefront Drummer needed the help of other cards to quickly stack attack power.

Thus, seeing this trump card revealed, Shi Li could already imagine what tactics the opponent’s next few first-row cards would employ.

”Generals! Charge with me!”

The first-row card An Zihu revealed had a very similar art style to the Battlefront Drummer.

Similar armor, similar attire; this was a bearded middle-aged general, riding a tall horse, holding a long spear.

”Vanguard General”

Balanced, 30 points, three-star attack 30, 100/100

”Activate - Characteristic”: When Vanguard General is revealed in the first row, it can cause one Friendly Army card to be revealed alongside it. ”Reprimand - Passive”: When Vanguard General is revealed, one Friendly Army card gains 10 Encouragement upon being revealed. ”Legacy - Passive”: When Vanguard General leaves the field, one Friendly Army card gains 30 Charge upon being revealed. ”Unwillingness - Passive”: When Vanguard General leaves the field, its own battle cry effect is triggered again.

Friendly Army was the unique tag for Vanguard General and Battlefront Drummer.

Indeed, this card almost existed entirely for the Battlefront Drummer.

It could provide a total of 20 Encouragement + 30 Charge to the Battlefront Drummer.

”Bling Bling!”

An Zihu’s first-row card on the other side was a small fairy holding a tiny magic wand.

Its tiny body was less than a tenth of the size of other projections, making its appearance hard to discern without a close look.

It flitted around in the air, leaving a green trail.

”Green Leaf Fairy”

Balanced, 30 points, three-star attack 30, 100/100

”Friendship - Characteristic”: The beneficial effects released by Green Leaf Fairy last for an additional 2 rounds. ”Pollen - Passive”: When Green Leaf Fairy is revealed, one revealed card gains 10 Encouragement. ”Protection - Passive”: When Green Leaf Fairy is revealed, one revealed card gains 30 Shield. ”Growth - Passive”: When Green Leaf Fairy is revealed, one revealed card gains 30 Blessing.

(Blessing: For this game, increase the target’s maximum health by the corresponding value.)

The Vanguard General and Green Leaf Fairy, one on the left and one on the right, were both support cards, with very average output capabilities.

So An Zihu’s strategy was obvious: to assist the trump card, Battlefront Drummer, to quickly raise its attack power to a level where it could easily annihilate opponents.

Therefore, the middle column where the trump card was located would naturally be a damage-absorbing card.

”You won’t leave until you kill the stone!”

As An Zihu’s first-row card in the middle column where his trump card was located was revealed, a slow-moving Golem emerged from the light pillar.

Its stony body looked incredibly hard, but its movements were very slow, like a heavy turtle.

”Abid Statue”

Persistence, 30 points, four-star attack 0, 200/200, 0/60

”Malleability - Characteristic”: Abid Statue’s attack power -30. The value of bonuses and buffs it receives is doubled. ”Durable Sentinel - Passive”: When Abid Statue is placed in the first row, its maximum health +50. ”Brave Front Tower - Passive”: When Abid Statue is placed in the first row, damage taken -10. ”Defense - 10 Energy”: Abid Statue enters Defense state this round. ”Staunch Defense - 50 Energy”: Abid Statue enters Defense state this round and gains 1 Barrier.

This was another five-trait Characteristic four-star character card. Coupled with the Blessing from the Green Leaf Fairy, its maximum health would reach 260 points.

This health was comparable to that of a giant card.

Furthermore, Shi Li knew that the active skill Staunch Defense was definitely intended to Counter the Red Blade Maiden.

Defense could Counter True Damage, and Barrier could Counter Fixed Damage.

Of course, the energy cost was a bit high, making full coverage impossible.

But Shi Li clearly understood An Zihu’s intention; the opponent never thought of making the Abid Statue an completely impenetrable Defense line.

All he wanted was to delay as much time as possible, allowing the Battlefront Drummer to accumulate higher attack power.

After both sides revealed their cards, the action phase began.

In this round, An Zihu did not hastily play Counter like others did against Shi Li.

On the contrary, he was the one who needed to stall for time.

So he played LV1 Defense, and only the Abid Statue entered Defense.

From Shi Li’s perspective, he was also in no hurry to deal damage.

He played LV2 Defense, targeting the Withering Dragon and the Bouncing Guard.

Because the opponent’s attack power was as high as 50+30+30 = 110 points, if he didn’t use Defense, there might be a terrible situation where the Bouncing Guard would lose a health bar and the Withering Dragon would leave the field.

Now, playing LV2 Defense could at least save one of them.

The choice was given to An Zihu, and his choice was to focus all attacks to first deplete one health bar of the Bouncing Guard.

The second round arrived, and Shi Li was the first to reveal his secondary row card.

”Buzz buzz~”

A girl with Cicada Wings leaped out of the card.

Cicada Wing Patrol came with ”Reveal Trump Card upon Retreat” + ”Delayed Battle Cry” + ”10 Permanent Encouragement.”

In the current situation, for Shi Li, Cicada Wing Patrol was the only, or rather, the most needed solution.

However, its 10 permanent Encouragement was not good to give to himself or any other revealed card, so it had to carry a delay. As for what An Zihu revealed, it was a Wise Recovery card, located directly behind the Abid Statue.

This three-star character card also had a Characteristic, and the effect of the Characteristic was simple and unadorned: all skills released cost -10 energy.

Then An Zihu paired it with traits that were all Shield or Recovery type active skills.

One of them was 10 energy for 15 Shield, another was 10 energy for 20 Healing, and there was also one for 20 energy for 30 Healing.

It’s worth noting that the first two 10-energy skills, under the Characteristic’s boost, were equivalent to 0 cost.

This meant it could provide 15 Shield or 20 Healing every round for free.

With the assistance of this card, the Abid Statue’s survival time would be even longer.

After both sides revealed their cards, the action phase began.

In this round, Shi Li played one LV1 Defense, targeting the Bouncing Guard.

Except for the cloud river, which remained Still, all other cards participated in the output.

After the round ended, the Bouncing Guard was put into Stasis.

The Vanguard General was taken out.

The third round arrived, and it was An Zihu’s turn to reveal a card first.

”Time is money! My friend!”

A Goblin wearing a simple flamethrower jetpack leaped out of the card.

”Goblin Arms Dealer”

Chasing Wind, 30 points, three-star attack 30, 100/100, 10/40

”In a Hurry - Characteristic”: If Goblin Arms Dealer’s released skill costs less than 30 energy, it does not affect its action. ”Self-Shock - Passive”: When Goblin Arms Dealer is revealed, it gains 10 Charge. ”Excited Shock - 10 Energy”: Goblin Arms Dealer grants 1 target 10 Encouragement. ”Powerful Shock - 30 Energy”: Goblin Arms Dealer attacks 1 target, applying Stun.

”So it can stack 10 Encouragement for the Battlefront Drummer every round?”

”Plus the Battlefront Drummer’s own skill, that’s equivalent to stacking 30 Encouragement every two rounds.”

”150 Encouragement in 10 rounds, plus other factors, that’s roughly equivalent to 200 attack.”

”200 attack can directly instantly kill the opponent’s trump card—”

”Actually, it doesn’t even need 200 attack. As long as it accumulates 100 attack and comes out, it basically cuts down anyone it sees.”

Everyone felt they had somewhat underestimated An Zihu’s deck.

As long as it could accelerate the accumulation of Encouragement, the Battlefront Drummer truly had boundless prospects.

”My deck’s core is simple and direct: the Battlefront Drummer.”

After revealing this card, An Zihu even had the leisure to laugh and introduce: ”All other cards exist to serve it.”

”Oh, that’s a bit of a coincidence then.”

Shi Li was not surprised by this.

As An Zihu said, his strategy was indeed simple, direct, and brutal.

Upon seeing that trump card revealed, Shi Li could already guess what type of other cards the opponent would likely send out.

He also knew early on that this card of his would become a very important Counter card.

”Magic is the source of all evil!”

As the card was revealed, a fully armed female huntress walked out.

Demon-Defeating Dark Hunter, carrying the traits Echo + Quantum Entanglement + Anti-Magic Tattoos.

”That’s right! Shi Li Still has this card!”

”This card completely Counters An Zihu!”

”To gain as many rounds as possible for the Battlefront Drummer and stack as much Encouragement as possible, his deck follows a low-cost sustainability route.”

”But low cost doesn’t mean no cost. On the contrary, to continuously use skills, their energy will be very tight. Even a slight hindrance can cause the skill chain to temporarily break.”

”An Zihu’s trump card, Chasing Wind card, and Wise card—three cards—are all very afraid of Demon-Defeating Dark Hunter’s Echo + Quantum Entanglement!”

As soon as Shi Li revealed this card, many people immediately expressed their opinions.

In fact, Shi Li had even deeper preparations.

His innate hand card, Magic Siphon, had only been used against the Fel Energy card player Xue Zhang in PVP so far.

In other words, the students did not know about the existence of this innate hand card.

When he pulled it out later, it would further establish his advantage.

”Good card, good card.”

An Zihu also praised this card repeatedly upon seeing it.

However, Shi Li read a sense of having a Counter-strategy already from the opponent’s face.

After both sides revealed their cards, the action phase began.

Indeed, before the cards even started moving, An Zihu played a hand card.

”Explosions are an art, and landmines are the medium of that art.”

”Lonely Minefield: When there is only one Goblin Arms Dealer Chasing Wind card revealed on the field, an additional rule is added this round.”

The hand card transformed into a beam of light and landed on the card table.

Projections of landmines flashed on the card table.

Then, a special rule was added to the card table.

”Minefield: All character cards in the game take 20 damage each time they attack.”

”Rule-type innate hand card!”

”He actually has a Scene card?!”

It was terrifying; this was a card specifically designed to Counter the Demon-Defeating Dark Hunter!

”Because Demon-Defeating Dark Hunter has the most attacks within a round, it’s very easy for her to be instantly killed!”

Hand cards that can add special rules to the game are called rule-type hand cards.

Sometimes, they are also called Scene cards because they change the appearance of the card table.
