My Cards are Infinitely Refreshed

156: Three Mushrooms, the eighth and only cardChapter 156: Three Kingdoms Mushroom Cards, the Eighth unique Card

Among them, 【Liu Da Gu】 was a mushroom person with a walrus mustache and large earlobes that dangled to the ground, holding two swords in his hands.

【Guan Er Gu】 was a mushroom person with a date-red face, as if he had drunk fake wine, and a beard that dragged on the ground like a mop, carrying a large Guan Dao.

【Zhang San Gu】 had a black face and a full beard, and despite being just a mushroom person, he had a ferocious expression, holding a spear in one hand and dried beef in the other.

“These few cards…”

Upon seeing their card faces, Shi Li couldn’t help but frown.

These three, surprisingly, were all unique Characteristic Cards.

And all 3 Characteristics were the same.

【Liu Da Gu】

Balance, 30 points, Two-Star Attack 30, 300/300

【Sworn Brotherhood - Characteristic】: Liu Da Gu shares health with Guan Er Gu and Zhang San Gu.

【Borrow Jingzhou - Passive】: If Liu Da Gu participates in a kill, the target card slot becomes 【Locked】.

【Where are the Shu Generals - Passive】: Liu Da Gu selects 1 Shu General card to launch 1 attack on his behalf (【Locked】: This card slot cannot be passed through or have cards placed on it).

The term 【Borrow Jingzhou】 somewhat countered his tactics.

He couldn’t summon 【Small Tiao Tiao】 or 【Big Jump】, nor could he use Movement to block attacks.

【Guan Er Gu】

Momentum, 30 points, Two-Star Attack 30, 300/300, 0/30

【Sworn Brotherhood - Characteristic】: Guan Er Gu shares health with Liu Da Gu and Zhang San Gu.

【Warm Wine - Passive】: For the first 3 rounds after Guan Er Gu is revealed, his attack power +10.

【Single-Handed Meeting - 20 Energy】: Guan Er Gu attacks 1 target; if there are no other Momentum cards revealed on his side, he deals an additional 20 points of damage.

His attack power was very high, and if combined with 【Liu Da Gu】’s 【Where are the Shu Generals】, 【Guan Er Gu】 could also quickly Charge.

This meant he could attack twice per round, covering 【Single-Handed Meeting】 for the entire duration.

【Zhang San Gu】

Wisdom, 30 points, Two-Star Attack 30, 300/300, 30/30

【Sworn Brotherhood - Characteristic】: Zhang San Gu shares health with Liu Da Gu and Guan Er Gu.

【I’m the Same - Passive】: When Liu Da Gu and Guan Er Gu are revealed, Zhang San Gu is revealed simultaneously.

【Roaring Broken Bridge - 20 Energy】: Zhang San Gu attacks 1 target, dealing an additional 30 points of 【Penetration】 effect.

The terms on this card were rather ordinary.

However, what gave Shi Li the biggest headache was the opponent’s Characteristic.

Sharing health, strictly speaking, was not a single pool of health.

What this represented, to be more specific, was that Red Blade Maiden’s Crimson Blaze, when striking, would only count as 20% of their individual 100/100 health, which is 20 points.

And not 20% of 300/300, which is 60 points.

So, they couldn’t be treated as giant cards; he couldn’t gain an advantage against them with giant-killer cards.

Don’t let these three cards being only Two-Star fool you; they had synergy and cooperation, and their combined combat power was truly formidable.

Fortunately, Shi Li’s 3 cards were not weak either.

The two sides clashed round after round.

The mushroom person on the opposite side subsequently revealed 【Zi Long Gu】, 【Chao Chao Gu】, and 【Old Huang Gu】, all of which were very powerful Two-Star cards.

Each card had its own unique Characteristic.

【Zi Long Gu】’s Characteristic was to increase its attack power to T0.5.

Since Defense has a priority of T1, it could completely bypass Defense.

【Chao Chao Gu】 carried two summon-type terms, and its Characteristic was that summoning actions did not consume action quotas.

This meant that in the round it summoned, it could still act once more, gaining an extra action round compared to other main summoner cards.

【Old Huang Gu】’s Characteristic was extremely fierce, converting all its attacks into Absolute Damage.

Absolute Damage was a combination of Fixed Damage and True Damage, and also the superior unique true god of both.

It would not be affected by any Shield, damage reduction, including Defense; whatever the numerical value was, that’s what would ultimately be dealt.

In the mid-game, the mushroom person even played a 【Peach Garden Oath】 native hand card.

Its range was even larger than the linked native hand cards of bo shan and cloud river; this was actually a 3-linked native hand card.

It simultaneously increased the permanent health limit for Liu, Guan, and Zhang Gu.

However, when it came to native hand cards, Shi Li had more in his hand.

Ultimately, he was the first to reveal the mushroom person’s trump card.

“Gugu Da~!”

Although he was at a disadvantage, the mushroom person happily revealed his trump card.

“Good heavens.”

As soon as he saw the card face, Shi Li exclaimed, “Good heavens.”

He was almost fooled by this guy’s silly appearance; turns out he had this trick up his sleeve!

The mushroom person’s trump card was called 【Zhuge Gu】, also a Two-Star Characteristic Balance card.

And the Characteristic this thing possessed was extremely powerful.

【This City is So Empty - Characteristic】: When Zhuge Gu is the only card left on your side of the board, it cannot be targeted.

If used well, this Characteristic was an unsolvable, invincible Characteristic.

Why say this? Because in reality, the mushroom person’s deck also contained a rather insidious and fatal synergy.

To break 【Zhuge Gu】, what must the opponent do?

One central idea, two solutions.

First, what is the central idea? It’s not to let 【Zhuge Gu】 be the “only” card left on the opponent’s board.

But the opponent’s regular cards were already wiped out, and the trump card was passively revealed, so the board was naturally empty.

So, it could only be Shi Li’s side that acted.

There were only two ways to occupy the opponent’s card slots.

The first method: summon cards.

But Shi Li only had 1 Jumping Guard summon card, and it had already left the field.

The second method: card Movement.

A problem involved in card Movement was that LV1 and LV2 Movement could only move 1 space at a time.

So, the critical killing blow hidden by this mushroom person was here.

【Liu Da Gu】 could 【Lock】.

Assuming he participated in killing the front-row cards, then all the front-row card slots would be 【Locked】.

The problem was that 【Locked】 card slots could not be passed through, which was equivalent to an invisible wall.

How could he move then?

Fortunately, Shi Li didn’t need to consider these issues.

Because his front-row cards were not completely wiped out.

The Jumping Guard was gone, but he still had cloud mountain, transformed from bo shan!

Who said he didn’t have native hand cards, hmph.

cloud mountain was tough, with a longer lifespan than Liu Da Gu.

The mushroom person kept frantically throwing Counter cards to prevent Shi Li from playing Movement hand cards.

But it was useless.

Because Shi Li’s Flower Cudgel Leader was not yet fully charged with the help of the Demon-Defeating Dark Hunter.

A single Repel struck cloud mountain, easily solving the problem.

“Gugu Da!”

The defeated mushroom person immediately prostrated himself on the ground, making a gesture of offering with both hands towards Shi Li.

Subsequently, its body began to turn into shattered light, gradually dispersing inch by inch.

Before it completely dissipated, 1 card condensed on its small mushroom hands.

“It’s a Mascot?”

When he received the Wish Card, Shi Li finally understood.

“How can there be such a good thing in the world? Others never encounter a Mascot once in their lives.

But I feel like Mascots are rushing to give me benefits.”

He felt that his luck in this regard was very good.

He even wondered if there was something special about him that would mysteriously attract Mascots.

In any case, with benefits to be had, he decided not to think too much about it for now.

“Last time I got a Wish Card, I was Platinum 3.

Now I’m Platinum 7, so my wish power should have improved.”

Shi Li recalled.

Last time, he received a cloud river Two-Star to Three-Star direct promotion token card, plus 50,000 cubic coins.

This time, all the character cards he wanted to Star Ascension were already Three-Star, and Four-Star didn’t make much sense because he hadn’t reached the Platinum peak line yet and couldn’t hold Four-Star character cards.

So, after some thought, he decided to use the Wish Card to exchange for a Unique Character Card.

He now planned to build a fully unique, or even fully Characteristic unique card deck, and what he needed were Unique Character Cards.

And ideally, they should be able to link and cooperate with his existing deck.

A deck, a deck; relying solely on the individual strength of single cards was far from enough to support combat power.

Cards forming synergy could bring out more of their individual strength.

But what kind of card should he get to create synergy with his existing deck, and what kind of synergy?

Shi Li thought about it and believed that if the conditions were too rigid, it might not be a good thing.

After all, the effects of cubic cards were ever-changing, and he couldn’t limit them with his imagination.

So, based on his current personal and deck situation, he ultimately came up with a series of keywords.

“The Chasing Wind card, with a Characteristic, can link with Combat cards. Give me 3 Relic cards to choose one from.”

“Wish power too low, unable to fulfill.”

“The Chasing Wind card, with a Characteristic, can link with Combat cards. Give me 2 Relic cards to choose one from.”

“Wish power too low, unable to fulfill.”

“The Chasing Wind card, with a Characteristic, can link with Combat cards. Give me 1 Relic card.”

“Wish successful, immediately fulfilled.”

“It seems a bit of a loss. Should I have added more cash?”

A brand new Relic card fell into Shi Li’s hand.

But since he already took it, it’s fine.

He looked around the entire space and found no Abyssal Kind.

However, there was no prompt indicating that he had completed the task.

So Shi Li exited and re-entered, seeing the refreshed [0/5] Abyssal Kind.

But he didn’t immediately challenge them. Instead, he exited again and came to [Beautiful Elf Night].

Holding a unique Relic card in his hand, he felt uneasy not using it.

Moreover, he didn’t know if others also possessed this Relic card, so using it as soon as possible would be more reassuring.

“Respected Level 4 Card Master, how may I help you?”

The hotel’s front desk was a beautiful female elf in a maid outfit, exuding a fresh body fragrance, with a cute and friendly smile.

It was just that her attire wasn’t quite right; her clothes were loose and revealing.

“I’d like a room.”

“Which floor would you like a room on?”

“Which floor?”

“Different floors have different prices.”

2

Shi Li was a bit puzzled.

Before, when he booked a room, there was no such distinction; it was just a simple 100 cubic coins.

However, recalling it, he did stay on the first floor at that time.

“What are your price ranges here?”

“There are three tiers: 100 cubic coins, 1000 cubic coins, and 10000 cubic coins.”

“Such a big difference? Is the 10000 cubic coins one diamond-studded?”

Shi Li couldn’t understand.

“If you have a need for diamonds, we can actually fulfill that.”

A hint of shyness seemed to appear in the female elf’s smile.

“Why was it only 100 cubic coins when I came before?”

Shi Li didn’t understand what she said or what she meant.

“For Level 4 powerhouses, we can provide more services.”

“I see. Just give me a 100 cubic coins room then.”

“Okay, if you need anything, you can contact me at any time.”

The other party emphasized the words “anything” and “any time”.

“Alright, thank you.”

It seemed that after successfully completing 4 evolutions, he could receive preferential treatment.

However, Shi Li still chose the cheapest option.

Spending money on such meaningless luxuries was not as good as saving it to refresh more times.

Currently, he still had 50,000 cubic coins, which should be enough to complete the mission.

The 100 cubic coins room was relatively simple, but it had everything it needed.

The bed was soft and springy, very comfortable to lie on.

Shi Li took out that Relic card and used it directly.

“This mission is named: The Flying Snail.”

“It is said that a mysterious nomadic race, the Snail-Walking Tribe, exists in this world.”

“They take the sky as their quilt and the earth as their bed.”

“They travel tirelessly all day, as if they never know fatigue.”

“Little Ya is a young member of the tribe, but she has disliked this nomadic life since childhood.”

“She heard from the old prophet that the Snail-Walking Tribe is a cursed race.”

“If they try to settle down, they will soon suffer divine punishment.”

“But Little Ya doesn’t believe it. Her dream is to build a dream home in a perfect place.”

“Today is Little Ya’s coming-of-age ceremony. The old prophet requires her to go alone to the Red Fruit Forest, five hundred miles away, and pick the largest and roundest red fruit.”

“According to Little Ya, there are three routes to the Red Fruit Forest.”

“Please help her make a choice.”

“A. Follow the river downstream.”

“If a raft is built temporarily, a lot of effort can certainly be saved along the way.”

“B. Take the straight route.”

“The straight route is the shortest, but it passes through several monster habitats along the way and is not safe.”

“C. Take the long way around.”

“This is the safest route, and there’s no time limit for the coming-of-age ceremony anyway.”

“Choose B. Monsters are monsters, what’s there to be afraid of?”

Shi Li held reinforcements in his hand and wasn’t flustered at all.

“Little Ya is impatient, so she decided to take the straight route.”

“After walking fifty miles, she encountered a river.”

“Please help her make a choice.”

“A. Stop and rest for a moment, drink some water.”

“There’s a chance to gain the [Full Stamina] BUFF: For the next 3 card games, Little Ya will appear with full Energy.”

“B. Change your mind and build a raft.”

“There’s a forest nearby, and the green fairies inside are very friendly: You can add 1 companion.”

“C. Ignore the river and leave immediately.”

“There seems to be something moving in the water; it’s better not to get close.”

“Option C doesn’t seem to offer anything, but its hint already implies that the BUFF from option A might not be so easy to obtain; a battle will occur.”

“’Chance to obtain’ probably means whether you can win the battle.”

“If I choose B, it’s also possible that a battle will occur after recruiting a companion.”

After some thought, Shi Li chose A.

Indeed, in the text prompt, Little Ya had just finished drinking water when she encountered a monster lurking in the water.

The first card game immediately began.

“No—”

When he saw Little Ya’s projection on the card table, Shi Li was stunned for a moment.

“Does this appearance even qualify as a Snail-Walking Tribe member?”

He originally thought the protagonist should be a snail or something.

At the very least, it would be a humanoid creature carrying a snail shell.

But apart from having a pair of snail antennae on her head and two snail-patterned shells on her chest, what did this have to do with a snail?

“And… are you sure you’re just coming of age?”

Aside from her short height and youthful face, her curves here, and here, and here, seemed to be fully mature, alright.

But it didn’t matter. To Shi Li, the character projection was just a representation.

Even if the projection was a blob, it wouldn’t matter as long as the card was useful.

The first attempt at the mission, of course, ended in failure.

However, a one-star simulation mission didn’t consume much Energy for Shi Li now. He played for a full 24 hours without stopping.

After spending 48,000 refresh fees and refreshing 12 times, he completed the mission.

“Can obtain Character Card [Snail Walking Lady (One Star)] x1.”

“Can obtain Hand Card [Movement (LV1)] x1.”

“Yes/No to reset this mission for 4000 cubic coins.”

“No.”

The text popped up the moment he clicked confirm.

Chasing Wind System Resonance: 0% → 20%

“Comfortable.”

Shi Li finally activated all seven system resonances.

He quickly checked the card.

“Run!”

In the card’s projection, a petite yet not small legal loli leaped out of the card.

Dressed in a primitive tribal style, with metal armbands on her slender ankles.

The Snail-Walking Tribe’s fighting style is primarily based on foot strikes.

This card, like the Red Blade Maiden, Flower Cudgel Leader, and Demon-Defeating Dark Hunter, all have the Combat and Humanoid tags.

Snail Walking Lady

Chasing Wind, 20 points, One Star Attack 20, 100/100, 0/40

Snail-Walking Step - Characteristic: Snail Walking Lady’s Movement is increased to T0. For every 20 Energy consumed, she can perform 1 grid of Movement.

Bearing the Brunt - Passive: In the turn Snail Walking Lady enters the front row, she can grant 10 Shield to adjacent Combat cards on her side.

Pillar of Strength - Passive: In the turn Snail Walking Lady enters the middle row, she can grant 10 Healing to adjacent Combat cards on her side.

“She’s clearly a snail, yet she’s a Chasing Wind card with Movement as her core mechanic.”

“It’s quite a contrast.”

But Shi Li could not deny that this card indeed met his wish’s requirements.

She herself is a Combat card, and at the same time, she can bring various buffs to her side’s Combat cards.

What he needed to do now was to quickly test her mechanics in a simulated card game.

After 20 minutes of testing, Shi Li was very satisfied with this card.

Firstly, under the Characteristic’s buff, Snail Walking Lady’s Movement does not consume action quota.

With a full 40 Energy, she can move 2 grids at once.

If a Movement hand card is added, it reaches 3 grids.

3 grids of Movement is quite far, after all, how many card slots are there in a 9+1 card game?
