My Cards are Infinitely Refreshed

188: 【Golden Cicada】Chapter 188: 【Golden Cicada】

Whether it’s rule cards or scene cards, most of them are Main Hand Cards.

Rule cards and scene cards that are not Main Hand Cards are actually a minority.

Hand cards with these types of effects usually have several Characteristics.

First: The effect does not distinguish between friend or foe, covering the entire card table.

Second: The duration is short and cannot be reused; generally speaking, it only lasts for 1 round.

Shi Li didn’t know that the opponent would have such a Main Hand Card. He had planned many offensive actions for this round.

First, the 【Stasis】 【Jumping Guard】 attacked the 【Goblin Arms Dealer】 before dying, earning a little health is better than nothing.

After all, so far in this game, there is only 1 empty slot left by the 【Advance General】, so summoning 【Small Jumping Guard】 is useless.

Even with 5 attack, activating 【Dead’s Talisman】 would only result in 10 attack, which isn’t very meaningful.

Then, the 【Withering Dragon】, 【Cicada Wing Patrol】, and 【Demonbane Dark Hunter】 all launched attacks, focusing fire on the 【Green Leaf Fairy】.

The 【Demonbane Dark Hunter】 had 10 points of 【Encouragement】 from the 【Cicada Wing Patrol】, so 100 attack was enough for an instant kill.

Under the effect of 【Minefield】, they would all lose 20 health points this round.

But the biggest loss wasn’t here.

It was in An Zihu’s control.

He made all four of his cards activate their skills, thereby triggering the 【Echo】 of the 【Demonbane Dark Hunter】.

The 【Demonbane Dark Hunter】 performing 4 【Echo】 attacks was equivalent to stepping on 4 more mines.

4 mines dealt 80 points of damage, plus its original active attack that triggered a mine, directly totaling 100 points of damage.

Although An Zihu’s cards also took 10 points of 【Echo】 + 10 points of 【Quantum Entanglement】 damage as a result, this amount of damage was definitely worth it for eliminating an opponent’s full-health counter card.

Then, even though he knew the 【Green Leaf Fairy】 was going to die, he still launched a counterattack against the 【Withering Dragon】 while enduring the 【Minefield】 before its demise.

Besides that, none of his cards attacked this round.

Ultimately, at the end of this round, Shi Li’s 【Jumping Guard】 and 【Demonbane Dark Hunter】 were removed.

An Zihu’s 【Green Leaf Fairy】 was removed.

It can be said that An Zihu, with one Main Hand Card, compensated for the advantage brought by the 【Jumping Guard】, and both sides returned to the same starting line.

After this round, the card table layout was as follows:

【Cover Card】 【War Drum】 【Cover Card】

【Cover Card】 【Cover Card】 【Cover Card】

【Brin】 【Heal Card】 【Cover Card】

【Empty Slot】 【Abide Stone Statue】 【Empty Slot】

VS

【Withering Dragon】 【bo shan】 【Empty Slot】

【Cicada Wing Patrol】 【Cover Card】 【Empty Slot】

【cloud river】 【Cover Card】 【Cover Card】

For Shi Li’s deck, this was definitely a significant loss.

Because neither the 【Jumping Guard】 nor the 【Demonbane Dark Hunter】 could use their Main Hand Cards, invisibly reducing a lot of combat power.

But actually, Shi Li had never expected the 【Withering Dragon】 to survive until now.

The good news was that after the removal of 4 cards, the 【Withering Dragon】 also gained 60 points of energy, reaching full Charge.

A new round began, and Shi Li revealed the last card in his right column.

”Where does Snail Walking Lady want to go?!”

As the card was revealed, a young girl with snail antennae on her head leaped out from the card face.

【Snail Walking Lady】 carries 【Right Column Defense】 + 【Second Row Substitute Attack】 + 【Left Column Attack Boost】.

The round the card is revealed is considered ”entering,” so she can directly trigger 【Defense】.

”Good card. With this, Shi Li’s outer card Defense line becomes very secure.”

”The 【Snail Walking Lady】 on the right and the 【bo shan】 in the middle column will both perform 【Defense】.”

”The only target left is the 【Withering Dragon】.”

”But if the 【Withering Dragon】 is destroyed, it will trigger its Deathrattle.”

”Its Deathrattle reduces the health of the 【Abide Stone Statue】, greatly countering its damage-absorbing role.

It can also 【Charge】 the 【bo shan】, ensuring that it can combine later.”

”However, triggering the Deathrattle is unavoidable, there’s nothing to be done.”

Amidst everyone’s analysis, An Zihu also revealed his second row face-down card in the right column.

”Demons, demons, where do you run!”

As the card was revealed, a man with a handlebar mustache, wearing a Taoist robe and holding a peach wood sword and an eight-trigram mirror, emerged from the card face.

【Mao Family Brother】

Chasing Wind, 30 points, Four-star Attack 30, 100/100, 0/40

【Righteousness - Characteristic】: When Mao Family Brother serves as an outer card, he gains 20 points of 【Shield】 each round.

【Demon Sealing Art - Passive】: When Mao Family Brother attacks a corresponding card, he applies a 【Seal】 effect.

【Sense of Responsibility - Passive】: When Mao Family Brother attacks a corresponding card, he recovers an additional 10 points of energy.

【Hurry as the Law Commands - 30 Energy Points】: Mao Family Brother can 【Move】 to any friendly empty slot.

【Sword Control Piercing Art - 20 Energy Points】: Mao Family Brother attacks 1 target, with 5 points of 【Armor Penetration】.

”It’s here, An Zihu’s last 1 four-star character card! And it’s a rare Listen to the Wind-type damage-absorbing card!”

”And isn’t this convenient? This card also heavily counters Shi Li’s 【Withering Dragon】!”

Corresponding cards refer to evil tags like undead, demon, and monster cards.

Common ghost cards and 【Stone Demon】 types are also countered by it.

Among Shi Li’s main deck, 【Jumping Guard】 and 【Withering Dragon】 are undead cards, and 【Lotus Demon】 is a demon card, all of which would be countered by it.

”If it weren’t for tactical needs, I should have brought out this card earlier.

Then your disadvantage would have been even greater.”

An Zihu said with a smile.

However, after he finished speaking, he felt a bit strange.

Why hadn’t the game progressed even though both sides had finished revealing cards?

”If I had known you had such a card, I should have revealed this card earlier too.”

Shi Li on the opposite side said with some regret.

Then he reached out and revealed his ace face-down card in the left column.

”What? There’s still a card to reveal?”

An Zihu frowned at this.

He had originally thought that Shi Li would use the passive of 【Cicada Wing Patrol】 to reveal the ace card.

And he was also certain that the ace card was 【Red Blade Maiden】.

But unexpectedly, the 【Cicada Wing Patrol】 was still on the field, yet the opponent had already revealed an ace card.

However, in reality, the card Shi Li was about to reveal was not an ace card.

”Warning! Warning!”

As the card was revealed, a purple light representing a three-star character card burst forth.

A small girl with fox-like ears emerged from the pillar of light on the card face.

【Fox Ear Meng Mei】

Listen to the Wind, 0 points, Three-star Attack 0, 100/100, 0/60

【Stand Anywhere - Characteristic】: Fox Ear Meng Mei can be placed in the ace card row, increasing the number of friendly conventional cards in play by 1.

【Small Animal - Passive】: When Fox Ear Meng Mei acts as a conventional card, she does not occupy a card-revealing slot.

【Listen to the Wind - Passive】: When there is a Chasing Wind card in the column where Fox Ear Meng Mei is located, 【Still】 recovers an additional 10 points of energy.

【Disturbing Scream - 20 Energy Points】: Fox Ear Meng Mei selects 1 target, causing it to gain 20 points of 【Weakness】.

(【Weakness】: Reduces the target’s attack power by the corresponding value)

”0-point card?”

”No output, no score, no conventional card slot occupied—what an excellent Listen to the Wind card!”

”Such a 0-point card is a pure gain as long as it can affect the opponent in any round!”

”It corresponds to the column with the 【Goblin Arms Dealer】, a Chasing Wind card, so it can also recover extra energy.”

”【Still】 for 2 rounds, it can cast 【Weakness】 for 3 rounds—that’s a great deal!”

Everyone commented.

”I thought it was something else.”

Seeing this card, An Zihu breathed a sigh of relief.

【Fox Ear Meng Mei】 is indeed excellent, but this card currently cannot influence the battle to a significant degree.

Both sides finished revealing cards, but T0 still hadn’t ended.

Because An Zihu played another Main Hand Card.

”Those with evil thoughts are also demons!”

”【Righteous Person】: Mao Family Brother removes 2 terms this game, adding the corresponding tag to all enemy revealed cards!”

Whoosh!

As the hand card was played, the 【Hurry as the Law Commands】 and 【Sword Control Piercing Art】 terms of 【Mao Family Brother】 were directly removed.

And Shi Li looked again, all of his revealed cards had gained a ”Demon” tag.

This meant that 【Mao Family Brother】 would now counter all of his revealed cards!

”A Main Hand Card that changes target tags, very practical.”

”And discarding 【Hurry as the Law Commands】 is not a pity at all, because the middle column is full, so he can’t move there.

If he moved to the left column, he would become a charging station for 【Fox Ear Meng Mei】.

So it’s better to discard it directly in exchange for triggering the Main Hand Card.”

”With this effect, 【Mao Family Brother】 no longer targets just the 【Withering Dragon】.

It greatly increases his threat level.”

After both sides finished revealing cards, the action phase finally arrived.

Shi Li played the 【LV2 Shield】 hand card, targeting the 【Withering Dragon】 and the 【Snail Walking Lady】.

But An Zihu seemed to have anticipated this and played the 【LV2 Counter】.

The hand cards canceled each other out, and next came the damage exchange between the two sides.

The 【Withering Dragon】 used its skill, deducting 30 maximum health from the 【Abide Stone Statue】.

Then, it was undoubtedly taken down by 【Seal】 + focused fire.

An Zihu wasn’t in a hurry to deal damage; he continued to generate 【Encouragement】 as needed.

Shi Li also didn’t hold back.

He played a brilliant move: the 0-point 【Fox Ear Meng Mei】 chose not to 【Still】, but instead attacked the 【bo shan】.

0 attack meant 0 damage, but it still provided 15 points of Charge for the Persistence card.

”This is a clever move. Actually, both sides are deliberately avoiding attacking the middle column’s front-row Persistence cards.”

”The purpose is to prevent them from becoming highly charged. The 【Abide Stone Statue】 would greatly enhance its self-preservation ability with energy, and the 【bo shan】 would significantly increase the success rate of combining with energy.”

”However, overall, with the help of 【cloud river】 and 【Fox Ear Meng Mei】, the 【bo shan】 has a more obvious advantage.

Although it 【Defense】 almost every round, it can now accumulate 25 points of energy, while the 【Abide Stone Statue】 is still at 0 health.”

Shi Li actually had no output cards this round; all his cards, only the 【Cicada Wing Patrol】, could deal effective damage, causing only 30 damage to the 【Goblin Arms Dealer】.

”It’s useless, I won’t let your 【bo shan】 have a chance to fully Charge.”

An Zihu still maintained control of the situation, saying with a smile.

In his opinion, he had already won.

This next round was simple: after the 【Withering Dragon】 was removed, the 【Cicada Wing Patrol】 would be exposed.

He only needed to cast another 【Seal】 to instantly kill it, and then Shi Li’s tactic of revealing the ace card early would be thwarted.

If the 【Red Blade Maiden】 ace card couldn’t be revealed early, the opponent would completely lose the capital to fight him.

”So what.”

However, Shi Li also felt in control of this situation. The current round had not ended because he drew a hand card.

”A noble soul is willing to sacrifice everything for a friend.”

”【Golden Cicada】: When a friendly card is removed, Cicada Wing Patrol can be removed instead.”

Whoosh!

As the hand card was played, the 【Withering Dragon】’s health returned to full.

Then, it was the 【Cicada Wing Patrol】 that was removed!

”What?!”

”It’s a Main Hand Card, I have one too.”

Shi Li said calmly. It turned out that the so-called Golden Cicada was not the Golden Cicada shedding its shell, or more accurately, it was a Golden Cicada shedding its shell for a friendly ally.

During his last duel with Xue Zhang, Shi Li had always been bothered by the opponent’s 【Seal】.

And this Main Hand Card of 【Cicada Wing Patrol】 completely prevented the opponent from using 【Seal】 on it.

【Instant Reveal】

As the 【Cicada Wing Patrol】 was removed, text popped up on Shi Li’s ace card slot.

”Hmph—”

This situation indeed exceeded An Zihu’s expectations.

However, he was not flustered. In terms of the number of removed cards, he was still ahead.

2:3.

He had 2 cards removed, Shi Li had 3 cards removed.

If the 【Withering Dragon】 didn’t die, he could just continue to 【Seal】 and kill it next round.

A new round began, and An Zihu revealed the card behind the 【Goblin Arms Dealer】.

”Destroy all Shields!”

As the card was revealed, a spectral knight holding a huge lance emerged from the card face.

【Daqiang Evil Rider】

Momentum, 30 points, Three-star Attack 30, 100/100, 0/40

【Shield Breaking Spear - Characteristic】: Daqiang Evil Rider’s attacks ignore 【Defense】.

【Evil Spirit Interference - Passive】: Daqiang Evil Rider’s attacks apply the 【Fragile Mind】 effect (T2).

【Flaw Attack - Passive】: Daqiang Evil Rider gains +10 attack power when attacking a 【Defense】 target.

【Great Spear Strike - 20 Energy Points】: Daqiang Evil Rider attacks 1 target, with 30 points of 【Penetration】.

(【Fragile Mind】: Prevents Persistence card targets from recovering energy when hit)

No wonder he was so confident about not letting the 【bo shan】 Charge.

As long as the 【Daqiang Evil Rider】 kept attacking, it would continuously apply 【Fragile Mind】.

”If the target 【Defense】, it will take increased damage.”

”If the target does not 【Defense】, the cards behind it will also be hit.”

”As the last card behind the 【Goblin Arms Dealer】, the 【Daqiang Evil Rider】 might not survive for too long.”

”But if its goal is merely to trade the 【bo shan】 to prevent it from fully charging and combining, I think it can successfully complete its mission.”

”It just depends on how Shi Li will play next.”

On Shi Li’s side, he revealed two cards consecutively.

【Flower Cudgel Leader】 carries 【Combo】 + 【Uncharged Attack Boost】 + 【Low Score Special Attack】.

【Red Blade Maiden】 carries 【Abundant】 + 【Surging】 + 【Vast】.

From this round onwards, he would launch his attack.
