COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

Hachiman is going back to his tent to take a long nap.

Because he had to play Ibuki, then again follow Koenji and Sudo to clear the base in a few hours.

Even if you just do it for a show, he still need to do it three times a day.

Not easy.

So, getting enough rest is important.

Only, when Hachiman returned to the tent, and since there was no pillow, he decided to take out his personal clothing, and use instead.

Unzipping the bag, a pair of blue striped underwear, with pink hearts came into view.

And, this is a girl’s und-

Hachiman’s mind recalled the coherent analysis in Karuizawa’s tent.

Either, it could be the fault of someone from outside, or it might be the perverted behavior from Class C.

So, whoever has the underwear there may be a fucking creep.

Looking at this now, Karuizawa’s underwear is actually here!

So, Hikigaya-kun are you a pervert?

’No, I was framed!’

Generally, people are chosen to be framed by someone who seems to be capable of doing such a thing.

Which makes it easier for the frame-up to be successful.

’So, in Ibuki’s eyes, am I this kind of pervert?’ Hikigaya-kun lost all his sleep in an instant.

”So, boss what do you want to do?” Kushida is quite happy today, giddily moving over the rough patch of ground.

A very cute voice.

But, no... Hachiman’s eyes have dark circles under, so Kushida-chan, you should not be happy at your boss’s day of misery.

’I just can’t help it! hehe~’

At the moment, Suzune and Kushida, both were invited by Hachiman over, to visit the section where the latter picked fruits yesterday.

The same day, Ibuki was picked up by Yamauchi, but he was also one of the members who went picking fruits with Kushida, so the girl also knew the location where Yamauchi became a helper.

“I originally wanted to go back to the tent and sleep.” Hachiman’s face looked pale, when Kushida gave him a smile like that, “But I discovered this by accident.”

Putting his left hand into his pocket and took out a pair of striped underwear.

Looking at what was in Hachiman’s hand, both Suzune’s and Kushida’s expressions instantly changed, into that of revulsion.

“Are you a panty thief?!” Kushida was really shocked by the sudden change of outcome, she just couldn’t believe it. ’I was doing jobs for a pervert this whole time?!

“.....” Hachiman. ’I just want to say 10 words to this girl.’

Because of what she just said.

’Do you really think I am that kind of person?!’

“What do you think, Horikita?”

“Is Ibuki-san putting the blame on you?”

’Um.....Horikita is indeed much cuter than a two-faced bitch, Kushida.’

You have to learn from this apathetic girl, about respecting your superiors.

It was not in vain that Hachiman deliberately went to Karuizawa’s tent to analyze.

That girl has a dark history of being bullied, but now her underwear was stolen.

In addition to the possibility of having her cloth worn by a pervert, she might also feel sorry for herself and worry about getting bullied.

’It’s really okay if you want to steal underwear, Hikigaya-kun, but why did you only steal mine?’

’Why do you want to bully me Hikigaya-kun? Didn’t I explain to you my past before?.....’

It’s not that the victim is feeling guilty, but Karuizawa’s past will make her think wildly.

So, Hachiman choose to to appease her heart.

But, first we have to prevent some people from thinking this way.

After all, there are a lot of idiots in Hachiman’s class, some operations have to be done.

’That means, I have to sacrifice a popular girl so that her underwear will also be stolen....’

In this way, Karuizawa is not the only one whose panties were stolen.

But, Hachiman has been very hesitant about that choice. ’Should I leave it to Horikita or choose Kushida?’

’But Kushida, your words just now made a teenage boy like me feel that I could only choose you.....’

“Ibuki stole the panties,” Hachiman’s gaze while looking at Suzune was pretty much in awe, that made her fingers push her curls back a little.

“She and Karuizawa are in the same tent, so it’s the easiest thing to do. Besides, that girl is the type who takes a shower in the morning, so during that, her underwear was gone missing.....that made a lot of commotion”

“I see....” Suzune nodded twice.

At this time, she understood why Hachiman had brought them out to find what Ibuki had buried yesterday.

Obviously, she analyzed that Ibuki-san was a spy, even her hands were dirty, confirming that girl might have buried something nearby.

Which got further analyzed by Hachiman, that it’s probably a means of long distance communication with Ryuen.

In this way, Hachiman entrusted her to find the so-called tool between Ibuki and Ryuen.

As a result, he came together by himself today. ’Because, I was framed as a target by Ibuki!’

“.....” Suzune. ’Suddenly, I felt that Hachiman was a little small-minded, but Ibuki-san’s behavior was indeed annoying...’

Since there are not many students in the class who can be used, Hachiman is the main force for promotion to Class A.

And if this boy can be framed, the class will be divided and his own reputation will be damaged.

There will be long cracks in Class C, which may not be healed using a bit of clay power.

’.....Ibuki-san, you are extremely ambitious.’

So, the three of them continued walking.

“We are almost here...” Kushida feels like she is deliberately being ignored, and might be plotted against by Hikigaya-kun.

’So, I decided to help...’ “This is where Yamauchi-kun found Ibuki-san....”

They came to a small forest, and Kushida pointed towards a rubber tree?

Every piece of wood looks quite similar to Hachiman.

’But, Kushida can quickly identify the scene, which shows that she has a good sense of direction....’

Nah....it’s also possible that she was a little full of emotions and looking for a spot to make up for the railings, that’s why her eyes were so bright.

Oh....Hachiman quietly arrived at the spot pointed by Kushida, without looking much impressed by her skills.

“• •” Kushida cutely blinked her eyebrows twice in Hikigaya-kun’s direction.

It seemed to be asking, don’t you have to give her praise? Why look so blank?

But, Hachiman just chose to look at the ground nearby instead of paying attention to Kushida’s old tricks.

’It didn’t rain yesterday or today so there was no way to hide the tracks.’

Then after staring for a minute, Hachiman discovered that the soil in this particular area was somewhat new.

It seems to have been renovated.

Just squatted down and started digging on the earth, using his bare hands.

’....I only dug with my hands for about two minutes and immediately got something hard.’

After clearing away the upper layer of soil, you will find a small cloth bag.

Hachiman ripped it open without a care, and took out the hidden contents.

“This is……”

Both of his companions, Kushida and Suzune were a little surprised, getting a nice look at what was inside.

Because, they saw a camera, even a damn walkie-talkie.

There is only one intercom.

Generally speaking, at least two are needed to use it, but Ibuki only buried one here, which shows that she really wants to contact others.

“It seems that Ibuki-san is indeed a spy....” Suzune felt proud that she was right about her guess, “She can use the radio to contact people, and then use a digital camera to snap information about our leader’s card!”

“....Although Ryuen-kun’s class gave up the exam and returned to the island, they did not give up on guessing the team leader....” Kushida wasn’t just here to fool around, gave her own ideas of Class C’s death.

“....Yes.” Hachiman nodded, while staring down at the items, his eyes dazed, “Also, I think Ryuen is most likely to still be on the island, and may even be the leader of Class D this time.....”

“Is Ryuen-kun the leader of Class D?!”

“Kushida, I ask you to stop doing that....”

“hehe~ Gomen, I just got excited all of a sudden....”

Hachiman wasn’t impressed by her pitiful acting skill, “With such an arrangement as placing spies, it is simply impossible for Ryuen to abstain directly.....”

“And he should have joined forces with Class A. If you want to get information about the leader of our class, Ibuki doesn’t need to take a photo. She can just go back and tell Ryuen, but she needs a camera to get the information and Gain the trust of others....”

“Class B is an alliance with us, both Ichinose and Kanzaki owe me a favor, so the possibility of joining Ryuen’s class can be ruled out....”

“Then, it only says that the deal between Class A and Ryuen-kun this time is very comprehe-”

“What do you want to do?!” Suzune now looked over quickly, felt like these two are just talking nonsense, got no importance.

According to her experience, Hachiman may have some plans that ordinary people would not think of.

“Of course, treat others in their own way...” Hachiman said, like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.

“Both Ryuen and Class A are going to be humiliated to their faces...”

“I would have to give them a nice big gift no matter what...”

“In this test, how about Ryuen’s class scored 0 points, and Class A, didn’t get too firmly held onto their initial S points?”

“Make them score less than 100 points in this exam.”

“....” Suzune.

“....” Kushida.

For just a moment, Hikigaya-kun’s calm but terrible words felt too scary.
