COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

”???” Ichinose, who even hesitated a lot to betray Hikigaya-kun, and felt she might drown without Class C’s back of support. ’Fuck it, what revolutionary plans are you making now?!’

’Well, I can also let Class B take up the spot of Ryuen. Of course, both can even choose not to buy it.If not, I can make a deal with Class A’s Katsuragi at a high price.’ As long as score exceeds the threshold of Class A, will not lose money.

After mastering the rules of the VIP exam, you can directly share rewards.

”I think this may not be the best plan either....Although selling privileged candidates places to other classes can lead to long-term points”

”Hikigaya-kun, what else do you want?!”

’Are you still not feeling satisfied?’ Kushida even had nose bleed, just thinking what terrible stuff her boss is going to plan.

”....Can you uh...pass over tissue?”

”???” Suzune. ”Kushida-san, I won’t ask you to behave properly, again!”

Thump! Thump!

”...Result 1 of exam rules. If you don’t rush to answer, and everyone sends the name of group’s recipient between 20:00 and 21:00 on the 3rd night, then entire group will get a reward of 500,000 points.”

”According to the number of people in a group of 12-14, as long as one does this, it can obtain more than 6 million worth of private points from the school....Points that can be cashed out directly without any sense of illegal....As for the agreement, if something unexpected happens in future exams and you have to make concessions, the deal may be used as a bargaining chip, so it is only reassuring to have points in hand....So, I’m wondering if there is an optimal solution. Getting points is just a part of it, and if even combined into result 1, getting money from the school is also nice...”

”But, it’s not okay if you are too greedy!” Suzune who previously refused to help Kushida handing over a white cloth to wipe her nose, looked at Hachiman in disapproval.

”Members of each group come from different classes. How can we ensure that others will not rush to answer the questions in advance? After all, in rules, every student has the right to answer!” Even the possibility of answering is very high.

You have a phone at any time, just send a message, and that’s it.

Therefore, very difficult.

’....Is there really no solution to get the best of both worlds?’ Hachiman was now busy thinking.

Someone has also said that being greedy when you can be is also an opportunity.

No matter what, it is based on the premise of knowing the rules of VIP.

First thing you need to obtain and easier to do is information about the recipients of your own class.

”Just a pipe dream....” Suzune said directly, crossing her arms over her chest, then putting down on her table.

But surprisingly, neither Hachiman nor Kushida denied this.

After all, this is Class C, formerly D, so uncooperative behavior will naturally come to mind.

”Hey, don’t look so frustrated, it’s not like we are completely hopeless! This time exam needs to go beyond common sense and look at the essence. For example, why does the teacher waste manpower to break up each class and explain it separately? Does he really want to test each student personally? Of course not, it’s like pulling a blindfold, so following the school’s approach to finding VIP isn’t a good idea....It’s okay for us to ask students to take exams without following common sense!”

”What do you mean?” Suzune began to think, felt like her length doesn’t match with Hachiman’s brain.

’No wonder, you don’t...’

”Kushida, please contact Hirata and make sure that every student gathers at the British-style cafeteria at 7:40 tomorrow morning!”

”Short explanation of the rules, and counter. This is to confirm the data of VIPs of our class as soon as possible at 8 o’ clock tomorrow morning, and then make preparations such as acting skills....”

”• ×” Suzune, who just realised it was too easy, she didn’t even try to learn.

Being selected as a VIP person, in addition to deducing the rules, can get your skin...exposed.

And if the acting skills of the students in his class are poor, then name of favored person will be leaked.

So, you need to prepare in advance!

”Is that all you want?”

”Yes and no....”

”Bastard, why is there so much work for me alone.....”

”Kushida, haven’t I already told you to stop those complaints? Besides, I’m going to use this bait to trick people into coming to restaurant....”

”D-Don’t tell me, you are going to snatch away phones?!” Kushida was forced to accept Hachiman’s request to contact Hirata.

Quickly realised something terrible is going to happen with her!

This is really sad.

’Hikigaya-kun directly nuked the students of our class. It makes them unable to move even if they want to!’

Because, people don’t know if they are VIPs in the first place?

’.....I originally thought I needed to worry about students’ poor acting skills or selfish motives, but... this guy just blocked everyone’s right to know.’

”After all, it’s the kind of class we are born into....Get rid of all the risk factors before they cause a huge uproar!”

But Suzune immediately put a red light in front of Hachiman’s face, with quite a worried look in her eyes, ”Don’t forget, exam lasts for 3 days, and if their mobile phones are directly confiscated, according to the rules, if they don’t agree, you can’t use force.... ”

”Just a small job! That’s where you come in Horikita.”

Twitch! Explode!

”At place, you will show them cold emotion and reason. Although most of those people are idiots, but have just obtained 491 points from Koenji’s dessert. Not wanting to lose it all at once....”

”Hikigaya-kun, you don’t understand....People just won’t do as you think.” Kushida realised her boss is also quite naive, and very innocent, ”After all, today’s students can’t live without mobile phones!”

”....Are you talking about your----Hey-hey, I’m really sorry, okay?!”

’But, this is probably just from your side, Kushida....’ Hachiman knows that she is a very busy person and has many social contacts, which means she needs to use her mobile phone to contact others a lot and is full of dependence.

And Hachiman doesn’t have many friends, so he doesn’t really rely on things like phones.

But, people in his class won’t agree either.

”Don’t look at me, I have got my share of work!”

”.....As for the cell phone being confiscated, Horikita....”

Snort! Snort!

”The fuck is up with both of you today? I am taking exam very seriously, here!”

”Are you calling me lazy?!”

”Of course, I am!”

Snort!

”Don’t give me that attitude. Go find Chabashira-sensei!”

”fufufu.....”

”• •” Hachiman’s narrowed eyes looked over at the place where giggling sounds just came from.

”....It wasn’t me, H-Hikigaya-kun!”

”Right....” Ignoring her for a while, Hachiman looked again in the direction of a very ugly facial expression.

”We all have one mobile phone per person, it also has a positioning function.....Specially made, but this school must have a backup phone, so you, Horikita go to Chabashira-sensei to apply for a backup phone! During class party, let all students use backup machines!”

.....This solution is feasible, Suzune could at least not make out any more loop holes in Hachiman’s plan to exploit, and got her work reduced.

”Then I will also send a message to Ichinose, If the names we obtain about VIPs of our class is not enough to deduce the rules, need to connect with Class B....”

In other words, we still have to form a part-time alliance with Class B as a last resort.

....Then, possibility of buying and selling the names of 3 VIPs of Class B is also lost.

Only, this is a situation where it is just impossible to deduce patterns based on the information about VIPs.

And if can be deduced, there is no need to form a trade with Class B.

Suzune felt a lot of weight on her tensed shoulders, but still went to do her work honestly.

After finding Chabashira-sensei, it was confirmed.

This school is really about strength.

As long as you have points, there is nothing can’t buy.

As long as you pay 300,000 points, can get 3 days of usage rights for 40 spare mobile phones.

However, there are no backup aircraft on the cruise, school is now going to arrange a helicopter to express it.

Will come around 6 am.

Indeed very luxurious.

...If you want a courier, just send your plane to get stuff over.

Kushida also quickly received the news, and classmates agreed to visit restaurant tomorrow.

Completely arranged.

...Both Kushida, and Suzune can have a good sleep now.

’....I always thought Hikigaya-kun was out more than usual....Gave such long dialogues, which I couldn’t even understand.’

However, even though Hachiman and the others slept a good night, but people of outsiders just couldn’t even rest his face on the pillow at night.
