Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 119: Chapter 119: Tornado in the Storm

Xu Xin’s eyes witnessed the revival of a jungle, leaving him in a state of shock.

Xu Xin began to ponder the significance of this event.

This time, there was no elimination at the end, nor like the last dungeon event where a mandatory task was set from the beginning, but rather a seemingly easy requirement: survive.

For now, it seems as long as you stay in the treehouse, there’s no danger.

But Xu Xin wouldn’t believe that this mysterious voice would be so kind; as it said, this is the final activity of the ”first stage,” how could it be so simple?

He has been observing the torrential rain outside.

The introduction to the event has mentioned that the rain and the tornado would bring some things that do not belong in the jungle. Perhaps these things brought by the rain and tornado are the key to this event!

However, after staring at the rain for a long time, Xu Xin did not see anything strange or unusual falling from the sky.

Unsure of what to do, he began to think about the information presented in the introduction.

Regarding the ”first stage,” this was the second time Xu Xin had heard about it.

The first time he heard about it was during the beast riot when the mysterious voice once said: [First stage begins, unlock weapon and armor crafting.]

Once the novice protection period ended, the first stage of this otherworldly journey began. All survivors received a capability at the start of the first stage, [Weapon and Armor Crafting].

The tasks of the first stage were primarily hunting and perilous explorations. This capability was crucial for these tasks during this stage.

Following this logic, the second stage will also bestow a capability, and this capability will certainly be closely related to the activities required in the second stage!

But what exactly is the second stage?

Upon seeing the jungle almost completely burned down, he thought the second stage, as mentioned by the mysterious voice, would be surviving in this scorched land, yet who could have thought that in the blink of an eye, the trees revived, and the jungle returned!

Of course, the jungle before his eyes was still too immature, as all the trees were slender young saplings, as thin as the birch trees Xu Xin planted, only having grown for two days.

After reaching their current form, these trees stopped growing. To become towering trees again would likely require at least a week more.

As the torrential rain continued, the anticipated event Xu Xin had in mind unfolded.

Flood disaster arrived!

The stream and lakes simply couldn’t withstand such a huge amount of rainfall, and the excess rainwater had nowhere to go, pooling on the ground.

The rainfall far exceeded the speed at which it could seep into the earth; within minutes, the standing water on the ground was above ten centimeters, and it was still rising.

Yet this did not affect Xu Xin at all, knowing his treehouse’s lowest point was also ten meters high, as long as he remained inside, he wouldn’t be affected.

”Is that it? Still, let’s wait and see.” Unable to go outside, Xu Xin could only sit by the window, listening to the sound of rain and thunder outside.

The water level on the ground continued rising, exceeding one meter in depth, submerging half of the newly grown saplings, from a glance, the treehouse appeared to stand amidst an ocean.

Almost everyone was unable to go outside, making the regional channel very lively.

”Oh my god, where did these saplings come from? They’re growing way too fast!”

”Our jungle is back!”

”It’s so magical!”

”Just after the fire disaster, how could it turn straight into a flood?”

”Is this what they call being between fire and water.”

”Thank heavens, I cut my firebreak too narrow, almost burning my treehouse, it rained just in time!”

”Folks, why do I have a bad feeling here, isn’t the water level rising too fast below?! Wait... won’t the treehouse be submerged?!”

”I don’t think so, to submerge the treehouse, it would have to be incredibly deep.”

”Whoa, a fish fell from the sky here! A big fish!”

”I’ve got some over here too!”

”Whoa, what is that thing!”

Xu Xin, bored, watched them chat until someone mentioned a big fish falling from the sky, which made him sit up, quickly looking out the window.

Underneath, the water surface was now almost swallowing the new saplings, which meant the depth had reached nearly three meters!

”Isn’t this a bit too exaggerated...” Xu Xin murmured to himself.

”Yip!” The Keke in his arms suddenly jumped up, jumped to the window, and leaned against the glass to look outside, but after looking left and right and seeing nothing, it jumped down from the windowsill and jumped to the window in another direction to look outside.

Then, it started ”yip yip yip” again, waving its little paw at Xu Xin behind, seemingly trying to get him to come quickly and look.

Did Keke discover something?

Xu Xin quickly got up and walked over, looking out the window.

Just one glance, and he gasped, a strong sense of crisis surged from within his heart.

Right in front of him, at about a kilometer away, a massive dark-colored tornado was raging wildly, sweeping everything from the ground into it, even stirring up the clouds in the sky, sucking the dense clouds into the tornado!

”Hiss—A super tornado!”

This was no ordinary tornado. Due to the torrential rain, the amount of water in the tornado was extraordinarily high, forming a dark gray waterspout, and since it sucked in thunder clouds from the sky, bright flashes of lightning occasionally appeared in the tornado.

Even from a kilometer’s distance, Xu Xin could fully feel the oppressive force of this massive tornado.

Under such a powerful natural disaster, Xu Xin felt utterly powerless.

The best way to avoid a tornado is to hide in an underground shelter until it passes. But with the ground covered in water, even digging a hole temporarily isn’t possible, and hiding in the water, even in deep parts of a lake, there is a high likelihood of being sucked up by this sky-reaching tornado.

The hope now is that the treehouse can withstand the tornado’s assault.

It’s not only the tornado near him; looking in other directions, Xu Xin could faintly see through the torrential water curtain, in relatively far distances, there were numerous massive tornadoes raging!

From the sky, it was easy to see the previously cloud-covered sky now looked as if giant tornadoes were growing downward from it. Clouds connected numerous tornadoes, stirring a storm over the entire region.

Xu Xin saw that in the tornado nearest him, broken trees, beast corpses, and a variety of other things were occasionally thrown out, but due to the distance and water curtain, Xu Xin could not see clearly what they were.

Xu Xin immediately opened [Explorer], eager to discuss this with everyone.

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”Whoa, I have a super big tornado here, whoa...”

Qin Yunlong: ”I have one here too, it’s so big, there’s no way to hide.”

Wang Lei: ”...What a mess, who can survive this, this mother world...”

Wen Guixin: ”Hearing you say that makes me relieved.”

Zhao Xiaochuan, Wang Lei: ”?”

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”When I type a question mark, it’s not that I have a problem, it’s that I think you have a problem.”

Xu Xin also sensed something amiss; he initially thought that encountering such a large tornado was due to bad luck being nearby, but since everyone had one, it was another matter entirely.

Surely they wouldn’t make everyone perish?

Li Wenxi: ”The tornado hasn’t changed position since it appeared, it’s just spinning in place.”

Ji Chaoyang: ”This tornado doesn’t seem to be here to harm us; the one I have is also stationary, just spinning, and it occasionally throws things outwards.”

Xu Xin: ”...The rain and tornado will bring things not native to the jungle, that’s what the voice said.”

Wang Lei: ”Whoa! Could it not be a disaster, but... a treasure tornado?”

Xu Xin looked at the tornado; although it appeared intimidating, it was indeed spinning in place without any sign of moving toward the treehouse, and it continuously threw things out.

”Yip!” Keke, sprawled on the windowsill, tugged at his clothes again.

... He should have realized sooner.

When Keke first noticed the tornado, its call did not make him feel tense, because it was not a call signaling danger, but... a call discovering treasure!

In the tornado, there really is treasure!
