Berserk God of War

Capítulo 1612: Chapter 1612: Conquering You, the Simple and Direct Way

No matter what type of demon beast, once it reaches the Venerable Level, it becomes an extremely terrifying existence.

Most of them possess the bloodline of Fierce Beasts.

And those with a dense Fierce Beast bloodline are equivalent to the War Body of the Human Clan. Just like previously, Nan Hedun and the War Demon Tiger were of the same realm, but without underhanded means, Nan Hedun could never have won.

This is because the War Demon Tiger contains the bloodline of the Black Prison Devouring Sky Tiger within it.

Due to the bloodlines of Fierce Beasts and Divine Beasts, Venerable-level demon beasts will not easily become mounts for the Human Clan. Many Venerable-level and above mounts were raised from weak to strong; very few are directly conquered.

Like the Poison Beast that subdued Grandpa Su during the Horror Saint Martial Period, it certainly wasn’t conquered by the Qianwang Holy Tower, but invited.

Thus, only colossal powers like the Overlord Commerce have the means to sell Venerable-level demon beasts.

But currently, there’s only this one.

According to Leng Sha’s explanation along the way…

This Split Armor Flying Scorpion had been left in the Demon Beast Market for a full five years without anyone conquering it. In fact, Overlord Commerce never thought it could be easily sold, but just placed it here symbolically to keep the market stable.

In plain terms, it’s merely an advertisement and gimmick to sell other demon beasts.

“Though it’s a gimmick, many people still come every year to try.”

“Some people aren’t trying to conquer it, but just want to gain some insights from its power.”

These were what Leng Sha said upon arrival.

At this point, the first deacon continued the introduction: “One hundred Light Core Crystals allow you to try for an hour. If you exceed the time, you need to pay extra, fifty more Light Core Crystals for every additional hour.”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing thought to himself, this is really profitable.

Throwing a Venerable-level demon beast here is not just about advertising; it’s purely about making money.

Although buying a Venerable-level demon beast, even if conquered, is extremely expensive.

But as long as the conquest is successful, it’s a gain. Such a mountain-guarding demon beast makes money seem utterly trivial in comparison.

Therefore, many people are willing to spend a little money to try it out.

However, Sikong Jing immediately cast aside these thoughts and directly threw out a hundred Light Core Crystals: “I’ll go in for an hour first.”

These words left the two deacons stunned, as well as Bai Xiaojin and Leng Sha.

The four of them almost simultaneously looked at Duanmu Chun, then at Sikong Jing.

Then, Bai Xiaojin said, “Master, are you joking? Shouldn’t Uncle Duanmu be the one to go in and try?”

The second deacon also said, “Going inside means certain death, even though the Split Armor Flying Scorpion is locked up, a mere thought can crush your Spiritual Shadow to death. Didn’t your elders teach you that?”

At this point, he looked at Duanmu Chun.

Just like the War Demon Tiger, many demon beasts in the market are forcibly captured. To purchase one, one must first conquer it, so the beasts that have been caged for a long time are irritable, let alone Venerable-level demon beasts.

As soon as they see a human, they attack.

The first deacon then coldly stated, “Two people will cost two hundred Light Core Crystals, don’t try any tricks.”

This person thought Sikong Jing was possibly trying to be slick, attempting to enter with Duanmu Chun for just a hundred Light Core Crystals.

But if there’s an extra person, there’s an additional charge.

Sikong Jing suddenly realized, “Oh, it costs more for extra people, then three hundred Light Core Crystals it is.”

With that, he threw in another two hundred Light Core Crystals.

He then looked at Bai Xiaojin and Leng Sha, lightly saying, “You two come in and play with me, and Duanmu Daba, please stay outside. If we go over time, you can pay the extra.”

As the words fell, everyone was stunned again.

Bai Xiaojin pointed at himself and then at Leng Sha, dumbfounded, “Master, are you sure the three of us are going in?”

The deacon already told him that going in without enough strength would be deadly; why not take Duanmu Chun along?

“What, are you afraid?”

Hearing this, Sikong Jing narrowed his eyes slightly, knowing full well Bai Xiaojin’s character, as she could not resist a challenge.

Sure enough, just a few words…

Bai Xiaojin instantly jumped up, shouting, “Why wouldn’t I dare? If Master dares to go in, of course I would.”

At this moment, she forgot entirely what fear was.

Meanwhile, Leng Sha was frantically tugging on Bai Xiaojin’s sleeve, giving a look of desperate eye contact…

However, Sikong Jing already turned to him, saying, “Even Bai Xiaojin dares to go in, if you don’t, you might not be man enough.”

His words made Leng Sha’s hand, which was tugging on Bai Xiaojin’s sleeve, tremble violently.

His face instantly flushed crimson!

“Don’t worry, I won’t harm you.”

Sikong Jing continued calmly, giving them confidence: “Don’t forget whose heir I am.”

As soon as he said that, Bai Xiaojin was still puzzled, but Leng Sha realized that Master Sikong was the Soul Dominator’s Heir.

Disregarding the two unofficial disciples, Sikong Jing then looked at the two deacons and said: “Open the barrier.”

The two deacons frowned, looked at Duanmu Chun.

After the latter nodded, they ceased arguing and opened the barrier: “Go in then, if you die, don’t haunt us at night.”

Since they were paid, and the elders said nothing, the deacons had no reason to stop them.

They already tried to advise them, and if they insisted on seeking death, that was not their concern.

Thus, Sikong Jing walked briskly toward the entrance, and upon reaching it, he stopped to look at the two temporary disciples again, “Why are you still dawdling? If you don’t go in now, it’s a waste of money.”

Bai Xiaojin suddenly realized she may have been too impulsive and felt a little scared.

As for Leng Sha, the terrifying aura from within the cave made his face pale.

“If you don’t come in, you will be expelled from the sect.” Sikong Jing spoke firmly once more, then entered the cave resolutely.

At once, Bai Xiaojin’s expression changed.

Damn it, she hadn’t learned the War Demon Hammer yet; how could she be expelled?

Thinking this, she hesitated no more and rushed in, muttering to herself: “There’s no way I can be shaken off.”

In her mind, Sikong Jing was likely using this as an excuse to backtrack and avoid teaching her the hammer skill.

Leng Sha had the same thoughts, of course.

But no matter what, since Bai Xiaojin went in, he couldn’t possibly not follow.

He completely couldn’t tell whether this was Sikong Jing’s test or something else, but if he didn’t go in, he certainly wouldn’t become a junior brother.

“To hell with it, if I die, I die!” Gritting his teeth, Leng Sha finally rushed in as well.

At that moment, Sikong Jing, who was walking at the front, heard the footsteps catching up from behind, a slight grin forming at the corner of his mouth…

His intention for bringing the two inside was not to dispose of them but to test and probe.

To gauge Leng Sha’s courage, and more importantly, if they dared to come in, he needed to give them a genuine awe-inspiring experience.

Whether it was taking disciples or subordinates, he always needed to genuinely win over the two, not just play around.

Just like when he became a commander at a young age, many people were discontent, and his approach was quite direct—he made those who opposed him truly impressed, showing them who was the boss.

Using the Venerable-level Split Armor Flying Scorpion for intimidation, Sikong Jing’s tactics were direct and unyielding.
