Chapter 898: Chapter 898: Report, Sikong Jing is playing chess

Grandma Kui heard this and still showed a look of helplessness in her eyes, but she still stepped out as instructed.

Immediately afterward, she waved her hand lightly.

In an instant, the faces of several Batian Experts changed dramatically, and their entire bodies began to tremble violently.

Then, an old voice sounded in their ears: ”Do not disturb our young lady’s chess game anymore, can you do that?”

With that, she opened her hand and grasped the air.

Several Batian Experts’ bodies cracked audibly, and they nodded their heads fearfully, not daring to argue.

This old woman was truly terrifying.

Grandma Kui smiled slightly, retracted her True Qi, and turned back to the side of the little girl, while the Batian Experts, already collapsed to the ground like a pile of mud, took a while to get up.

They stared at Sikong Jing seated across from the little girl, twitching at the corner of their mouths.

At this moment, Sikong Jing said to them, ”You should go back and report to Lord Yao. I will return after finishing this game.”

Several Batian Experts looked at Sikong Jing, then at Grandma Kui, and in the end could only nod in agreement... It seemed Sikong Jing was also playing chess out of necessity.

Thus, they mounted their steeds and returned to the Overlord Commerce.

Sikong Jing sat back down, picked up a chess piece, and made his next move.

The little girl took a deep breath, her face filled with seriousness and caution, not daring to be careless... The two went back and forth.

Surrounding elders held their breath, watching with great attention.

As for Grandma Kui’s terrifying martial prowess, the elders were not too surprised. In Minglong Village, which of the old masters was not experienced and knowledgeable? They had long realized that the little girl’s identity was not simple.

Not long after, at the Overlord Commerce!

Several Batian Experts returned to the North Courtyard, and upon seeing Yao Yuzhi, they said with bitter expressions, ”Reporting to Lord Yao, we found Sikong Jing and the others, but they are playing chess...”

At these words, Yao Yuzhi was utterly stunned, and Hua Meixi beside him was also dumbfounded.

Everyone in the North Courtyard had their mouths agape. Not only did Sikong Jing have the leisure to stroll around, he also had the mood to play chess.

Is he simply carefree, or does he completely disregard Yang Li?

”Playing chess is fine, but why not bring the person back?” Yao Yuzhi asked in confusion.

Bam...

Before the Batian Experts could reply, Yang Li suddenly shattered the stool beneath her.

”Yao Yuzhi, stop putting on a show in front of me, especially such a ridiculously poor one...”

”You’re deliberately not bringing that one-armed man to be punished, aren’t you?”

”Fine, fine. Playing chess, is it? I’ll personally go and arrest him now.”

”When I bring him back, he’ll be half-dead... This is what you get for mocking me.”

Having said this, Yang Li gestured with her hand, and together with members of the Lihua Team, she mounted her ride and dashed out of the North Courtyard. She was practically fuming with anger. Just using a chess-playing excuse to not bring the person over—isn’t that mocking her?

The ones she sent were Yao Yuzhi’s subordinates; it must have been an order from Yao Yuzhi.

It’s simply outrageous.

Yao Yuzhi opened her mouth, wanting to stop Yang Li and refute her, but ultimately she stopped and looked at the Batian Experts with a cold face, asking what the situation was and why people couldn’t be brought back just because of a chess game.

What kind of excuse is ”playing chess”?

And when the Batian Experts recounted the previous situation, Yao Yuzhi was stunned once again—it was the threat of a terrifying expert.

”Can’t figure out her background, but it should be that old woman’s young lady losing at chess to Sikong Jing and feeling unhappy, trying to save face.”

”They just won’t let Sikong Jing leave until the game is finished.”

With the Batian Experts’ response, Yao Yuzhi finally understood.

But she furrowed her brows.

She just wanted to quickly deal with the problem of Yang Hua being beaten, and this suddenly appeared old woman treating Overlord Commerce people like this—she must have a significant background.

At this time, Lang Zhengzhi stepped forward and said, ”Lord Yao, Lihua Team rushed over, Sikong Jing might be in danger.”

With just Yang Li’s attitude, she will surely harshly punish Sikong Jing.

Sikong Jing may be able to beat Yang Hua, but certainly not Yang Li; there’s no doubt about it.

”Aunt Yao, should we go see?” Hua Meixi was also a bit worried.

Not worried about Sikong Jing, but not wanting Yang Li to punish Sikong Jing; anyone else could, but not the arch-enemy.

Yao Yuzhi’s brows relaxed a little, smiling, ”No need, since it’s a terrifying expert, what’s the point of Yang Li going? Who knows, it might be Yang Li coming back half-dead.”

With these words, everyone suddenly realized.

Right, the old woman mentioned by the Batian Experts must be at the Spirit Martial Stage. It’s no wonder that with Yang Li’s attitude she’s gonna get beaten.

”Of course, this is all conditional on Sikong Jing continuing to win at chess, we’ll see how lucky he is.”

Yao Yuzhi laughed as she spoke again, but did not voice one more thought.

That is, even if Sikong Jing loses the chess and has no one to protect him, the bizarre exclusive skills he possesses might mean he won’t necessarily suffer at Yang Li’s hands.

Ultimately, Yao Yuzhi didn’t want to stay in the North Courtyard any longer; who knows how long it would take for Sikong Jing to finish the game?

She returned to the main hall, suddenly feeling a slight itch in her heart, and said to Hua Meixi, who had followed, ”I really want to see who dares to exert such pressure on our Overlord Commerce experts in the Minglong Mountain Range. Want to come along?”

Hua Meixi was taken aback but eventually nodded.

The two women then left Batian High Meeting, while Hua Meixi inquired again, ”Aunt Yao, are you still worried about Sikong Jing?”

Yao Yuzhi glanced at her, responding, ”Not really. I’m mainly curious about his exclusive skills.”

In an instant, Hua Meixi realized.

Aunt Yao still harbored concerns over this matter, seeking any opportunity to understand how Sikong Jing managed to evade her intuition.

...

Under a certain Ancient Pine in Minglong Village, it remained silent and still, as the elders kept a keen eye on the chessboard.

At this moment, the intensity on the board had reached its peak.

The chess pieces of Sikong Jing and the little girl exchanged attacks and defenses, continuously changing, capturing the elders’ attention, most of whom—like Gongyang Ying and Chou Zhan—could only count pieces to see who had the advantage.

Apart from counting pieces, they were completely lost!

But the number of pieces essentially meant nothing; as long as a Soldier Formation could be formed, the situation could change dramatically.

Time ticked away slowly...

All of a sudden, the little girl clenched her pink fist tightly, crackling audibly.

The elders thought she was contemplating her next move, but at that moment, she suddenly declared, ”I’ve lost this round!”

The little girl’s voice was filled with reluctance, but lost it was, and there was no way to salvage it.

The elders were stunned, then Gongyang Ying was the first to call out: ”He won, Brother Jing won.”

The elders broke into hearty laughter, repeatedly congratulating Sikong Jing, and this time, no one mocked the little girl; she was indeed very formidable and had been willing to admit defeat.

”Thank you for letting me win.”

Sikong Jing exhaled softly, then said, ”I just won by half a move, it was merely by luck.”

It was the plain truth: the little girl was truly formidable, and Sikong Jing’s victory was extremely hard-fought.
