Berserk God of War

Chapter 895: Chapter 895: Call Me Grandma

”Everyone who wants to become a Soldier Formation Master must learn Soldier Killing Chess from a young age.”

”Both the chessboard and chess pieces are divided into levels. The chessboard you see here belongs to the Enlightenment-grade Ultimate, with only a few hundred soldier types.”

”But it’s already the limit for those of us who are not Soldier Formation Masters.”

At this moment, a fat old man smiled and pointed at the chessboard between the two elders, explaining in detail.

Gongyang Ying was completely bewildered, still a novice, and she dumbly asked in return, ”This already makes my head spin, are there even more complicated boards?”

The fat old man chuckled as he explained, ”Of course, the chessboards for non-Soldier Formation Masters are all Enlightenment-grade. Beyond that, there are War Grade, Spiritual-grade, and Emperor-grade chessboards, but those are all toys for Soldier Formation Masters, and have little to do with us non-masters.”

Hearing this, Sikong Jing understood.

Ordinary Enlightenment-grade chessboards and pieces are the most widely circulated, ordinary Soldier Formation Masters can craft and mass-produce them.

But chessboards beyond the Enlightenment-grade become rarer and require higher-level Soldier Formation Masters to create.

Only Soldier Formation Masters can truly play them.

As Sikong Jing’s thoughts wandered, the fat old man suddenly shouted, ”Old He is awesome, he won.”

At this moment, the blue-robed elder had already arranged the pieces, slaughtering the other side without resistance, the pieces constantly falling and being removed until finally, the opponent had no power to resist.

The blue-robed elder named Old He laughed heartily, his face full of excitement.

The gray-robed elder on the other side turned red-faced, unwilling, he shouted, ”I just made a mistake, let’s go again.”

With that said, the gray-robed elder was about to disrupt the board for another round.

At this time, Sikong Jing looked at the scenario on the chessboard and frowned slightly in thought. The game was not yet over.

The gray-robed elder still had pieces unused, and there was an opportunity for a counterattack.

However, as a newcomer, Sikong Jing naturally wouldn’t say much now.

He didn’t want to embarrass these leisurely elders, but he was very interested in the Soldier Killing Chessboard, considering buying a more advanced one from Overlord Commerce to see the differences.

Maybe it would also aid in comprehending the Qianyuan Soldier Killing Map.

With this thought, Sikong Jing prepared to call Gongyang Ying and Chou Zhan to leave.

But just as he turned to leave, a clear voice suddenly rang out, ”I say, Old Gray-head, you haven’t lost yet!”

On hearing the voice, Sikong Jing stopped, and the other elders looked around in surprise.

They saw, at some point, a girl even younger than Sikong Ling, about thirteen or fourteen, sitting on the ancient pine nearby, her legs gently swinging.

She wore a black dress with silver accents, carrying a distinctive exotic style, lively and cute.

Seeing everyone looking, the little girl revealed two small tiger teeth in her smile.

However, Old He in the blue robe didn’t find her cute at all, his face darkened, and he said unhappily, ”Little girl, are you pretending to understand? Does that board look like there’s still any chance of resistance?”

The little girl tilted her head, smiling, ”Of course there is, and with your chess skills, winning should be effortless.”

Upon hearing this, the crowd of elders laughed and shook their heads.

But just as Sikong Jing thought earlier, Old He’s face turned red.

For old folks like them, they have their dignity, and they couldn’t stand being criticized in their strong suit, or they’d get really angry.

And now the little girl was belittling his chess skills right after Old He’s victory.

”Effortless?”

”Come, come, little girl, show me how you win, and if you do, this old man will call you mom.”

It’s evident that Old He’s stubbornness had exploded; he was quite furious.

At these words, all the elders laughed and shook their heads, with someone stepping forward to persuade, ”Old He, there’s no need, absolutely no need for this.”

It was all just a leisurely match, was there a need to make such a wager?

However, Old He was furious, pointing at the little girl in the tree, and loudly said, ”Come down, I must help this little girl’s elders properly educate her today, not to recklessly speak wild words.”

”Little girl, if you can’t win against me with this endgame, you’ll clean the courtyard for three days.”

Upon hearing those words, the little girl opened her large eyes, giggling, ”Alright, I bet with you.”

With that, she leaped down, and the gray-robed elder vacated his spot.

The little girl confidently took the seat and began placing the remaining pieces on the chessboard, with each turn alternating, Old He clearly laid his pieces with a hint of underestimation.

He still had many pieces on the board, while the opposite side had just been slaughtered without mercy.

Naturally, Sikong Jing couldn’t leave anymore.

He couldn’t resist staying to see what the little girl was up to, curious about her confidence.

And as time passed, Sikong Jing sighed lightly, seriously saying, ”That little girl is going to win.”

His voice wasn’t loud, but the nearby elders heard anyway.

The elder who first explained the Soldier Killing Chess said, ”No way, young brother, the difference between the two sides’ pieces is immense.”

”Yes, you just learned about the war chess, don’t jump to conclusions.”

The fat old man was surprised, doubting Sikong Jing, a novice, could understand the situation of the chess game...

Even Gongyang Ying found it hard to believe, though she didn’t understand, but the numbers of remaining pieces were ten times different.

Sikong Jing took a deep breath and began to explain...

”The little girl’s placement of pieces is quite strategic.”

”Although she has fewer remaining pieces, they aren’t so few as to not form an army. Look at the lower left corner, where she placed archers coordinating with the saber soldiers, Old He’s main force will soon be defeated here!”

”And look at the other side...”

He explained the little girl’s strategic layout bit by bit, leaving the surrounding elders puzzled.

”Seems to make some sense, but I still find it unlikely,” the fat old man blinked, showing disbelief.

What Sikong Jing said sounded profound, but with the elders’ chess ability, they seemed to not fully grasp it.

More importantly, Sikong Jing had just been clueless, and now spoke fluently, making it hard to believe.

”The little girl is going to start attacking...” At this moment, Sikong Jing said.

With his words falling, the situation on the chessboard dramatically shifted, and the little girl began her counter attack, in accordance with exactly what Sikong Jing had just described, almost every move verifying his explanation.

In just a moment, Old He’s pieces, ten times more than the opponent’s, crumbled, continuously falling on the board.

In the end, defeat was overwhelming!

Finally, even the last piece fell.

A total massacre...

Old He’s pieces, ten times more than the little girl’s, were completely slaughtered on the board, his metaphorical bald head entirely shaved clean.

Instantly, the entire place was silent as a grave.

Old He’s face went from deep red and iron blue to black.

”Hehe...”

At this point, the little girl’s crisp laughter echoed, ”I won, old man, no need to call me mom, I’m not old enough to have a son like you... How about calling me granny?”
