Berserk God of War

Chapter 896: Chapter 896: Minglong Village, The Most Formidable Chess Master

Old He’s black face suddenly turned red again, his old eyes were full of bloodshot veins, obviously from anger.

The next moment, he yelled frantically, ”No way, I underestimated you just now, let’s have another game.”

The young girl tilted her head and shrugged her small shoulders, saying, ”Playing chess with you is super boring, you’re really too weak.”

These words almost made Old He spit out a mouthful of old blood.

Yet the young girl didn’t let him go, saying, ”Forget it, forget it, seeing how old you are, I won’t bother with you. No need to even call me Granny, I’ve seen plenty of old men like you who can’t take losing.”

With that, the young girl turned around and walked out of the crowd, while unknowingly, an old woman was already standing in the distance.

The old woman’s outfit was very similar to the young girl’s, they looked like they came from a tribe.

At this point, the young girl said to the old woman, ”Grandma Kui, you always talk about ’the great recluse hides in the city,’ these old men who play chess here might have been big shots once. I just tried... that old man in blue, he’s really so weak!”

”Little girl, you... pfft!”

The young girl’s words were said loudly, finally making Old He unable to bear it, spitting out a mouthful of old blood.

He clutched his chest, trembling frantically as he pointed at the young girl... Can’t take losing, so weak, Granny!

It’s just too infuriating.

”Old He...” A group of old men rushed up to help Old He up.

At the same time, some old men also rushed towards the young girl, angrily.

Before they could speak, the young girl said, ”What’s up, old men? Can’t beat me in chess so now you want to hit a little girl like me?”

Suddenly, the old men who were about to start scolding had their mouths twitching...

They were all quite old, arguing with a capricious little girl would be undignified.

Suddenly, the fat old man had an idea, squinting his eyes, he said, ”Winning against Old He is nothing, we have the best chess master in Minglong Village here. If you can beat him, then you’ll be truly impressive.”

As soon as these words came out, the young girl and the old woman Grandma Kui almost simultaneously squinted.

The young girl didn’t hesitate, directly clapped her hands and laughed, ”Alright, quickly call him out for Granny. If I lose, I’ll sweep your courtyards for three days.”

In fact, the young girl and Grandma Kui had a purpose, which was to find a certain hidden figure.

A former Soldier Killing Array master...

To find this person, these old geezers were particularly important, they need to be provoked.

And now the young girl has succeeded halfway, the most formidable chess master in Minglong Village must surely be the hidden master.

Chess players may not necessarily be Soldier Formation Masters, but the formidable ones definitely are...

Beside them, Sikong Jing was equally curious, wondering just how skilled the best chess master could be.

”Hehe, the best chess master in Minglong Village is... him!”

Just as Sikong Jing was full of expectation, the fat old man suddenly waved his finger, pointing towards Sikong Jing.

Suddenly, all the old men present were stunned.

One by one, they blinked their eyes looking at Sikong Jing, since when did this kid become the best chess master in Minglong Village?

The few who were surround Sikong Jing earlier suddenly had a realization, thinking of something.

Sikong Jing himself was slack-jawed, he just wanted to watch the fun, ended up with himself becoming the spectacle?

The old woman and the young girl opposite similarly opened their mouths wide, their smug expressions completely disappeared. The hidden expert they were seeking was supposed to be an old man in his seventies or eighties, how could it be this one-armed young fellow?

What’s going on with this fat old man?

The fat old man chuckled and said, ”That’s right, this young man is the best chess master in Minglong Village. If you can beat him, then we won’t hold it against you for making Old He spit blood.”

With the fat old man’s words, the old men still looked at the young girl, watching what she would say.

The young girl secretly glanced at Grandma Kui, then shrugged her small shoulders again, showing her little tiger teeth and said, ”Alrighty, then I’ll have to see just how skilled this brother is.”

With that, she bounced back to the chessboard, saying to Sikong Jing, ”One-armed Brother, let’s play chess.”

Over here, the fat old man also walked to Sikong Jing’s side and said with a smile, ”Young brother, we’ll have to bother you.”

At this point, Sikong Jing also reacted, it was clear that the fat old man, having heard his analysis, entrusted him the task of defeating the young girl and regaining face, they were making a bet!

”Alright, but don’t blame me if I lose.”

Sikong Jing nodded, indeed feeling an urge to compete with the young girl.

But winning or losing doesn’t really matter, the main thing is the thrill.

”No worries, no worries, you’re a beginner, lose and that’s that.” The fat old man was still smiling, speaking as he led Sikong Jing to the spot Old He had just been sitting at, the latter currently being helped to rest under the old pine.

Once seated, Sikong Jing picked up a chess piece...

However, at this moment, the fat old man said, ”Young brother, you need to hold the chess piece like this, your grip is incorrect.”

Then he began teaching Sikong Jing the proper grip for holding chess pieces.

This kind of scene made the young girl opposite open her small mouth again, unable to resist shouting clearly, ”Aren’t you old folks doing this on purpose? Is he really the best chess master in Minglong Village?”

”Yes, that’s right, the best.”

The fat old man nodded heavily, his face filled with a silly smile, and continued explaining more detailed rules to Sikong Jing.

The old men gradually understood, the fat old man was deliberately teasing the little girl.

Meanwhile, the young girl seemed about ready to flip the chessboard. This one-armed young man was clearly a beginner!

What on earth are these sly old foxes planning?

At this moment, the old man who had earlier explained the rules to Sikong Jing and the others laughed and said, ”Though our young brother is a beginner, I just explained the rules to him, but he is indeed the best chess master in Minglong Village. Young lady, be careful not to underestimate him.”

Her lips twitched, the young girl genuinely didn’t want to continue.

Finally, Sikong Jing had thoroughly familiarized himself with all the rules, then he looked toward the young girl and said, ”Shall we guess who goes first?”

”No need for that trouble, you go first.”

The young girl spoke weakly, only wanting to finish quickly and move on, to search for other old men elsewhere.

Sikong Jing didn’t refuse, picked up a piece and placed it on the chessboard.

Opposite, the young girl also placed a piece down.

In this way, both sides began placing pieces, arranging their troops...

At this point, Old He finally regained some composure, looking towards the fat old man, he asked, ”Old Fat Head, what are you up to?”

”Hehe, just watch and see.” The fat old man stroked his beard and laughed heartily.

A crowd of old men watched full of doubts, then the atmosphere gradually quieted down, Sikong Jing calmly setting up his chess game, while the young girl opposite was still uninterested...

However, a quarter of an hour later, Grandma Kui suddenly stepped forward, ”Saint... Little Ti, don’t underestimate the opponent.”

The young girl reflexively looked up at Grandma Kui, then gazed at the direction of Sikong Jing’s pieces, at this point, the chessboard was transforming into a battlefield-like scene. Some pieces she could see, while others were invisible.

The spectators, though, could see everything clearly...

”What is it?” The young girl, puzzled, asked Grandma Kui.

Just as the latter was about to speak, the fat old man suddenly said, ”Observe the game quietly!”
