Chapter 795: Chapter 795: Find a Million Mercenaries for Me

In Lang Zhengzhi’s explanation, Sikong Jing regained his composure and understood the significance thereof.

Wanbao Pavilion was intentionally established by the Overlord Commerce.

Lang Zhengzhi, a decision maker, had been dispatched to serve as the boss of Wanbao Pavilion, collecting intelligence and more through another channel.

In the other three regions of the East Plain, there certainly were similar figures.

At this point, Lang Zhengzhi looked at Yisuo and said, ”Yisuo, even within Wanbao Pavilion, you’re the only one who knows about this.”

Yisuo nodded blankly, then foolishly asked, ”Big Brother and the others don’t know either?”

Lang Zhengzhi’s face darkened immediately, and he spoke with a bad tone, ”Of course they don’t know, those two little bastards nearly drove me to the grave, they started to rebel against me at the slightest test.”

”They even went to fawn over scoundrels like Tian Budian, thinking about expanding Wanbao Pavilion to the other three regions of the East Plain to gain my trust and attention, even trying to use this opportunity to slap me in the face.”

”Damn it, I am a decision maker of the Overlord Commerce, why would I want to expand Wanbao Pavilion?”

Sikong Jing couldn’t help but twitch his mouth at the swearing, silently sympathizing with Lang Yiwei and Lang Yizhan.

At this moment, Lang Zhengzhi returned to the matter at hand, his expression becoming extremely serious.

”Regarding Hua Lidian’s matter, all five of us decision makers from the East Plain Northern Land stand by him, but...”

”Ju Dan’s merit is just too enormous.”

”The Venerable suddenly arrived in the East Plain Northern Land, and Tian Budian recommended her to him as a guide for the Northern Mountain.”

Then, Lang Zhengzhi thought that Sikong Jing was unaware of the struggle for the ”Qianyuan Soldier Killing Map.”

He began to explain in detail to Sikong Jing, and at the end, he took a deep breath and said, ”It is said that Elder Su the Demon tore the Qianyuan Soldier Killing Map into eight pieces, and our Overlord Commerce was fortunate enough to obtain two of them.”

”One of those pieces was the one found by Ju Dan; damn, her luck is just too good.”

”That merit directly resulted in a huge reward for Ju Dan; the Venerable even allowed her to name her conditions, and her condition was to take a high position in the Central Plains after the quota battle.”

”Under such circumstances, how can we save Hua Lidian and you?”

”She merely mentioned it in passing to the Venerable, and he ordered us to destroy all evidence of Ren Dongmeng’s violations. We had no choice but to comply, and now, Ju Dan is preparing to execute Hua Lidian publicly.”

”She plans to do it after capturing you, to execute him openly and directly the day before the quota battle.”

These words left Sikong Jing in a daze, all because of the Qianyuan Soldier Killing Map, all because of his Grandpa Su.

One could only say that the coincidence was uncanny, and Ju Dan’s luck was just against the heavens.

After obtaining the great merit, the reward she asked for was not to kill Hua Lidian, but to take a high position in the Central Plains... because, with the backing of the Venerable, killing Hua Lidian and him would be effortless.

”Originally, our highest decision maker, Elder Mo, was also unwillingly preparing to comply, but Ju Dan was too arrogant; she previously came to the East Plain Northern Land and forced Elder Mo and the four of us decision makers to kneel and apologize to her.”

”Saying that we, did not protect her daughter well enough.”

”We had no choice but to kneel and apologize, but we were unhappy about it.”

Lang Zhengzhi gritted his teeth in fury, clearly resentful that Ren Dongmeng had violated the rules first.

Why should they apologize to Ju Dan? How could they protect someone who had violated the rules?

”So, Elder Mo sent a letter directly to the Domineering Branch in the eastern part of the Central Plains. Unexpectedly, the East Dominator Branch signaled that they would send someone to handle the matter and would arrive within the next few days.”

”Which means, whether we can overcome this crisis hinges on who the East Dominator Branch sends our way,”

”If we still can’t flip the situation, we’ll have to execute Hua Lidian...”

”Then Sikong, I’m afraid you won’t be able to leave Zhanwu City either.”

”Here, I owe you an apology in advance. If I truly am powerless then, I’ll have no choice but to ensure my own safety.”

Listening to these explanations, Yisuo stared at his father, his face ashen.

It was clear that if Hua Lidian’s charges couldn’t be overturned, his father would have no choice but to move against Sikong Jing with resentment.

Sikong Jing let out a light breath, then his expression remained unchanged.

”Uncle Lang, there’s no need to apologize, self-preservation is only natural.”

”However, I will certainly be looking out for myself as well. I wonder if Uncle Lang could muster a mercenary group of a hundred thousand men for me?”

”If things go south, I’ll definitely try to fight my way out of the city.”

Previously, he had Yisuo attempt to recruit help; now, he was asking Zheng Zhi to do so, which was naturally much easier.

Stunned for a moment, Zheng Zhi replied with a bitter smile, ”Impossible, not even a hundred thousand mercenaries, let alone a million.”

A hundred thousand mercenaries would at best be a hundred thousand Xuantian Realm fighters—how could they stop these powerful individuals?

”If Uncle Lang could bring together a million, that would be even better,” Sikong Jing chuckled confidently. ”Regardless, I have to try my luck; I can’t just sit and wait for doom, can I?”

Knowing of Ju Dan’s accomplishments and background, Sikong Jing realized that securing a spot in Overlord Commerce’s contest would be tough.

If he truly couldn’t participate, then he wouldn’t be blamed for his lack of courtesy when the Soldier Killing Array made its appearance in Zhanwu City.

Thinking this, Sikong Jing added, ”Of course, this is under the condition that it won’t implicate Uncle Lang and Senior Brother Lang.”

After some thought, Zheng Zhi finally nodded, ”A million mercenaries is not difficult. I can have them for you by this time tomorrow, but making them obey like your Long Night Black Burning Army would be impossible.”

”They might scatter at the first blow, so think it over carefully,” Zheng Zhi added.

To this, Sikong Jing was still indifferent, indicating that as long as they were all at least at the Innate Realm, it would be sufficient.

In the end, Zheng Zhi promised without any further comment, not willing to refuse Sikong Jing the chance for a desperate struggle.

Then, Sikong Jing stayed for a meal, not bringing up the matter of Hua Lidian again but instead talking about Yisuo’s progress, and of course, the upcoming contest for the spots among the East Plain Four Regions.

After full bellies and a satisfying meal, Sikong Jing took his leave.

Before he left, Zheng Zhi informed Sikong Jing of something else: he could go to Overlord Commerce tonight for a pre-battle banquet where the top fifty from the Thousand Tyrant List would arrive...

The reason it was the top fifty and not the top thirty was that some had refused to participate or other events had occurred.

For instance, Sikong Ling would no longer be able to attend.

Hence, some replacements needed to fill the void. After all, Overlord Commerce had to ensure there were 18 participants, and also guarantee that those ranked 11th to 30th, twenty people in total, could contend for those eight spots...

Of course, attendance at this pre-battle banquet was optional, but it was better to go.

Because one could get to know the opponents in advance, understand a host of Martial Arts geniuses, and even form one’s own team; even though Sikong Jing was currently beset with crises, maybe this was where his opportunity would arise?

To this, Sikong Jing responded with a smile and a nod, indicating he would definitely attend.
